Gibson Acoustic L-00 Original Acoustic Guitar - Ebony Reviews
The L-00 Original is based on Gibson’s L-series small-bodied acoustics from the early 1930s. Don’t be fooled, however. This acoustic-electric guitar may be small, but it delivers big tone. That said, its smaller body is super-comfortable to play. Built from top-shelf tonewoods, the L-00 Original churns out the perfect combinations of punchiness, mid-forward projection, and ear-grabbing harmonic overtones. And its wide dynamic range stands up to gentle fingerpicking and heavy strumming alike. This A/E’s rosewood-capped mahogany neck ensures excellent playability, while LR Baggs VTC electronics serve up top-shelf amplified tone. An eye-catching antiqued finish, white script Gibson logo, and single-ply binding complete the Gibson Acoustic L-00 Original.

Just soooo gooooood!!!!
I will keep this short and to the point. Best sounding and playable acoustic electric guitar I have ever owned. I am absolutely in love with this guitar. Small comfortable body with a big sound. I am a gigging musician and I can't put this guitar down. Do yourself a favor and grab one of these beauties. You won't regret it.
Gibson L-00
I want to first to give credit to Tad Shaffer for woroking with me. I am blown away at this guitar! It sounds so good. It's super responsive to your playing and has a nice warm tone. The sustain from any note is beautiful. I'm a happy customer of Sweetwater and love the guitar they sent me. I made one small neck adjustment to have a little less neck relief and it plays so easy now with zero fret buzz. It is great for strumming, and finger picking. I also recommend D'Adarrio Nickel Bronze to pair with. Thank you again Tad!
No compromise on traditional L-00 sound
After playing a few L-00 style guitars it had to the Gibson. I had heard great things about Collings Waterloo guitars and Santa Cruz 00, and played them. Dang, they're good and with a great sweet full tone. But why? That's not the primal-like sound of Gibson's legendary L-00s. So why shell out major $$$ for a guitar that looks like a L-00 but plays like an OM. Just get an OM.
On another note, Sweetwater was great about taking back the first one they send me which had a ding on it. The 2nd one was perfect but needed to be set up. I should have said something but didn't. The condition of the saddle in the bridge was pretty bad, as the saddle was mis-sized and was too thin for the slot and leaned acutely forward. The frets also needed sanding. Guitars need to be set up, but this was too much. If you get a guitar like that, be sure to speak up. I'm sure Sweetwater will take care of it.
Gibson L-00 original just awesome
Guitar arrived and I was blown away with its beauty. Set up was good and I tuned it up and really loved the tones and feel of this guitar. First day I was able to play with some friends who play dreads and this little cannon did so well. Really great build the smell of wood and Nitro really made me smile. The Baggs pickup is my first and I'm very impressed can't wait to play a show with this beautiful guitar. The case is really nice so far I'm blown away with this Gibson L-00 can't imagine how great it will be when it opens up. So glad I got this guitar.
