Sweet
Wow, this unit does exactly what is advertised. I have only worked with this for a week now, and my first impression is it is great for percussion instruments. An absolute must for kick, snare and toms. This would be a great circuit on every channel of any analog console, especially for a live sound console. Very useful for being creative. I only wish the eq had a shelving setting. The eq is very smooth, but I could see myself tracking with it as a LP / HP filter for vocals, but not as a bell eq. All in all I am very impressed and thank you to Wayne at Sweetwater for turning me on to this gem.
Great Sound Shaper
Great for shaping the envelopes of your sounds just right. Can help bring out some bite and/or punch on instruments but especially useful on drums to make them huge or fit them more tightly into the space of a particular song. Some of what this unit does can be done on a standard compressor but if you want to bring your tone shaping to the next level and let the compressor worry about smoothing volume levels and really shape the transients, this unit is great. The shelving EQ sounds great too!
