Fender Roasted Maple Vintera Mod '70s Stratocaster Neck
Fender Roasted Maple Vintera Mod '70s Stratocaster Neck Reviews
The Fender Roasted Maple Vintera Mod ’70s Stratocaster Neck may just be the upgrade your Strat is clamoring for. Roasted until it reaches optimal dryness and beauty, this maple neck is more resistant to humidity shifts and temperature changes than non-roasted necks. Sweetwater guitarists find that the early ’70s C profile fills the hand like a true classic. And with its 9.5-inch fretboard radius, 21 medium-jumbo frets, and CBS logo, the Fender Roasted Maple Vintera Mod ’70s Stratocaster Neck has something for all eras of Fender fans. Best of all, 3- and 4-bolt compatibility suits this neck to a wide range of modern and historic Strats.
Awesome.
IMO, this is Fenders best neck. Roasting is deep enough to make it climate stable but not so deep where I would be concerned with cracking. The tilt option is one of my favorite neck/body combos from Fender as is removes one of the biggest issues with neck pocket/neck shrinking and it's super easy to get the best angle without shimming etc. It's a slightly fatter neck but the radius makes it SUPER playable and really comfortable. Nice gloss on fretboard without hindering movement and the back is really smooth, playable.
Excellent neck that feels great!
This neck feels and looks great. Out of the box, everything was perfect. Frets were level and smooth and the neck was straight as an arrow. Only thing that needed tweaking was the nut slots once it was installed. This is to be expected depending on how you set up your guitar and string gauge that you use. No complaints here!
Great neck
What a fantastic piece. I love it.
Great look and awesome feel!
Wasn't sure I wanted to take the plunge on a roasted neck, but after going back and forth I finally made the plunge.
Glad I did. If you are like me and have several guitars, different combos of pickups, necks, etc.....and haven't done the roasted neck yet....do it. I love the feel of it, kind of hard to describe what exactly it is. The gloss front and sating back is a great combination, and the C-profile feels a bit fatter than some of the other strats I have...but it fits my hand better. I play a lot of thumb over the top and this and a soft V work best for me.
I got the 70s F tuners to complete the look.
I love 70's strats!
I've never been a big fan of MIM guitars, but a while back I bought a limited edition player Tele with a roasted maple neck and I have to say that it's the best playing Tele I've played in years, and I own three American Tele's.
I had an old 70's strat body laying around that I'd been looking for a deal on a neck, but they're pretty hard to find that's affordable, so I thought what the hell. Why not!
Anyway,I love it! It plays, sounds and looks fantastic!
WOW - thanks Ruben!
Perhaps the finest neck I've ever used.
The back feels perfectly worn-in, the fretboard is glassy and fast.
Not too thin, but somewhat more narrow than my other Jazzmasters. Feels more like a nice comfy U than a
modern flat C-shape.
I put this Strat neck on a JM body and I love it. You'll have no issues fitting it onto a Squier VM, CV, MIM/MIA Fender body.
NOTE:
1. It's made in Mexico.
2. It requires drill holes in the back of the headstock for tuners to be installed.
3. It requires 2 drill holes for the neck pocket (2 are already drilled).
If you or your tech are fine with a tiny bit of drilling, this might be the best production neck you could ever lay hands on.
Beautiful neck. Perfect for my build.
Fender brought many of my wants together all in one awesome neck. I was surprised at how much more I like it in person even than on paper.
Love the large 70s headstock, large frets and roasted maple.
What impressed me the most was the classic nitro gloss on the fretboard and face of the headstock, but smooth unpolished raw feel on the backside.
Can't wait to get all the parts in to finish the job!
