Electro-Harmonix Neo Clone Analog Chorus Pedal
Electro-Harmonix Neo Clone Analog Chorus Pedal Reviews
Electro-Harmonix packs the amazing Neo Clone analog chorus pedal with the same great sounds and features found in the legendary Small Clone - at an incredibly affordable price. Go from slow, shallow, subtle chorus sweeps to thick, watery vibes. It's easy, thanks to the depth switch and rate knob. You can instantly tweak the chorus sounds you want - even mid-song. This amazing pedal comes packed into a road-tough, compact chassis that fits easily into your pedalboard rig. You'll also appreciate the Neo Clone's low-noise performance and true-bypass switching. It's an incredible value!
Loud Pops
The chorus effect is stunning and the depth control makes it more flexible than the one knob would suggest. However, as others have noted, the loud pop when turning on and off is very disconcerting.
Simple & clear
Admittedly, I was searching for a budget chorus pedal to practice with. I stumbled onto this one. It was reviewed as the pedal to use to replicate Kurt Cobain's sound, and that it does well. I also found it to be very good for all around use. It is simple and the chorus tone is consistent with or without distortion. Dialing in a soothing lushness to one's liking is easy.
off the charts
How is this pedal only $?
The simplicity to sound ratio is off the charts!
I bought this for it's simplicity & the price was just a bonus, but after I got it & plugged it in I was blown away. It sounds phenomenal! I put this with my Boss SD-1,FORGET ABOUT IT! With the turn of a knobs & flip of a switch you can dial up any sound you want in seconds.
Great pedal, I love it & highly recommend it.
Neo yes
Great simple vibrant chorus pedal. It only took a few minutes to find my spot. I play it through my vox ac 15 and my fender player strat pure magic.
This little pedal made me dig chorus
I'm not big fan on chorus as I think it dates a lot of music. However, the simplicity of this pedal changed my mind. One knob and a depth switch. That's all you need if your on the fence like I was. It sounds good on its own but I like to add a dash of it along with other effects like reverb and/or delay. The price ain't bad either. So why not give it a shot?
Loud pop when engaged
Loud pop when engaged, which makes me worry each and every time for my amps sake!
Not to say thats for live gigs I'll ever take it ! Here come the pop….
Other than that good sounding Chorus
A great little pedal!
My micro!
This pedal does not disappoint, it does a spectacular job,
I'm glad I got it,
Great Pedal
I love this pedal! Great analogue chorus, it beats all those digital multi effect trying to emulate this sound. Easy to use and for the price, it can"t be beat.
Pipe organ
Needed to produce an "organ" sound for a piece. This plus some delay gave me a Hammond B3 sound. Great pedal for the price!
Cool
I"ve been through some chorus pedals, and this is one of my favorites. Simple, not super versatile, but it sounds great.
EH Neo Clone Chorus
Works well and great chorus sounds just wish it had a volume or level control.
Smaller Small Clone
Great pedal, really really good.
After reviewing a few videos, I decided to go for it, and I'm glad I did it. The pedal is well constructed, very solid and it sounds great.
The depth control makes a huge difference and the rate works really well, no need for another control, at least for my playing.
For the price I don't think you can get anything better, is actually really good.
Great Analog Chorus Pedal
One of the best "budget" analog chorus pedals I heard.
Doesn't need a lot of features to really make cleans sound cool. Pretty transparent...doesn't round the highs off or filter out the lows the way my old KORG pedal did.
Neo clone POPS!!! No really
This was my first chorus pedal, and being an owner and a fan of EHX pedals I went into this purchase with the outmost excitement. That all quickly changed when I first engaged the pedal...now don't get me wrong it does what it's supposed to, however I cannot get past the worrisome pop when it's turned on. I tried turning it on while my tuner was engaged and it did little to help. I know EHX had its quirks and that's what I love about the company but I was expecting a bit more from them. The tone this little thing produces is truly the only reason I'm giving it a 2.5. So if you don't mind a loud pop which makes you worry for your amps sake, all in exchange for an ok chorus tone, then I guess this is for you.
Great pedal for price
I got this Neo Clone pedal to spice up my clean tone a bit. It does the job pretty well. I powered it up with a 1 spot CS7 with no problems. I really like the simplicity of the knobs of this pedal it is very easy to use. Definitely worth the price.
Neo Clone
One of my main rigs is a Fender Blackface style amp where I can achieve channel blending.
One of the channels gets the Neo Clone and it is basically always on.
Really gives you a little extra cream on overdriven solos, especially when the settings are subtle.
Rich Chorus
I had a SMALL CLONE as a teenager, I loved it , I needed a smaller foot print pedal for an FX board I was piecing together, This little pedal produces a very rich chorus, sounds great clean or saturated with overdrive & distortion.
If you like a lush rich Chorus I recommend this Neo Clone , one cool pedal.
electro-harmonix Neo Clone Analog Chorus
Not a lot of adjustments with this pedal. Just a toggle for two specific depth settings and a rotating knobs for unlimited rate adjustments, and the on/off button. This provides the controls for the chorus adjustment. If you like endless adjustments look for another pedal. If you want a simple well crafted pedal that provides a nice chorus effect you will likely be happy with this. I do get a very faint buzz when using this pedal but when you start to play it is not audible.
Simple and sweet
I like that this pedal is simple and has a great sound. With Depth switched to max and the rate at minimum, it is the perfect sound for my acoustic guitar and that's all I needed.
elctro-harmonix Neo Clone Analog Chorus delivers in spades!
This little pedal really delivers. The tones are rich with a wide range from a lovely orchestral, 12 string sound all the way to weird! It has one rate control knob and a little toggle switch also varies the tone somewhat from in your face to just a subtle coloring. I like things really simple and this pedal fits the bill. I don't use chorus a lot, but now I have it when I need it to add a little atmosphere to a song. It goes well with my Telecaster, my Epiphone ES335 and my Garrison accoustic. Great for recording as well as live! And a great price too!
this IS this
without the exaggerated abiility some ess cretive guitarists find to be ( quote/unquote) offensive...and some of the details that some au du clumsy neophytes need for them selves the EHX NEO CLONE PAVES THE WAY...leads the way for really good chorus pedals-one of the best...
Nice pedal!
Electro-Harmonix never disappoints. This pedal sounds great and has super-simple controls. It offers a pretty good range of sounds, from subtle to lush and shimmering. I use it with my fretless 6-string bass and absolutely love the way it sounds. The only negative I can think of is that sometimes there's an audible pop when I switch the effect on, but that's not such a big deal because I leave it on almost all the time anyway. It's a bit smaller than a Boss pedal and has no battery compartment, making it a very nice fit for my pedalboard.
A MUST FOR 80'S NEW WAVE
This pedal is awesome. Some people complain that it needs more control, but isn't that the point of the "neo" series? This is one of my favorites on my board. If you are looking for that "Flock of Seagulls" New wave sound, then this is your one stop shop. Thanks Electro-Harmonix!
It's not bad, not great, needs a push
I am a fan of the EH chorus, this is a summary of the chorus pedal I like, one knobby, one toggle, very uncomplicated to dial in. I would very much recommend putting a boost pedal of some sort in front. It loses some volume in my set up, I have moved it around quite a bit to some improvement but can't seem to keep the volume level from dropping noticeably. I gave it a 3 because the board space it takes up is pretty remarkable instead of a 2 based on the pedals performance on its' own.
