Exactly what he hoped for.
This was a birthday gift for my husband, and he says it does exactly what he wanted it to do. He's very pleased with it in all respects. Thanks, Brad and Sweetwater!
What an introduction to tremolo
I was almost immediately able to dial in a setting for Nancy Sinatra's 'Bang Bang' despite this being my first tremolo pedal. Day one giddiness: achieved. Lifetime of continued tweaking: in progress. The Rate knob is indeed quite touch sensitive, as others have mentioned, but I don't see an issue with getting even more range out of the pedal than I thought possible. My only complaint is that I'm used to Boss-quality hardware and both my Pulsar and Ram's Head fuzz are not as solidly built as I was expecting. Maybe that's just to cut down on costs, but I'm also not expecting the thing to break underneath my foot. Just a surprise as I try out different brands.
One stop stereo tremolo
If you are looking for a straightforward quality tremolo effect in an affordable and compact/solid package look no further. It sounds great even in mono, stereo is very nice. It does the one thing it was built for very well and offers plenty of versatility with square and triangle wave options, shape control to adjust where the rise and fall occurs, and sensitive wide range frequency from very slow to ring sounds. It's got a volume knob as well. For me There is no 'I wish it had x or did y better' comment I can think of. No regrets.
Great pedal
I thought I had a dud at first. Very muted and not much tremolo effect . Thankfully It was only a weak battery. Plugged in a OneSpot 9V and WOW what a difference. The rate and depth knobs do something now. Unity gain is easy to dial in. The Depth and Rate knobs are easy to fine tune. You can modify the sound of the wave with the switch and Shape knob. Very happy with the Pulsar. Gonna use it on Elevation Worship's "Rattle!" first.
Great!
I previously owned a full sized stereo pulsar and loved it. I regret selling it especially since it was modded to have a more user friendly rate knob. I am a little disappointed they didn't fix the issue of the rate knob ramping up too quickly with this iteration, which is arguably the most common complaint. Having said that, the buffer is very high quality and the tonality is great. The volume knob is a welcome addition and definitely improves the value. It sounds beautiful running into my Nano DMM and Boss DD-8. You can get a lot of sounds from this thing, it is stereo, and for the price point you can't really beat it.
Excellent Tremolo
Touch Sensitive knobs. Time for EHX to start putting jacks on top.
Absolute best customer service!!
Got this as a gift for my husband and he loves it! Best customer service. Shipping was super fast and package arrived in perfect shape and THERE WAS CANDY IN THE BOX!
Vintage Trem
I didn't consider this one when looking for a tremolo pedal because I figured it was one of the cheapest ones. Now I realize it's the only one that can get that shaky vintage tremolo sound I was going for. The only weakness is the knobs' range is too wide. The usable range for vintage tremolo is pretty narrow.
Love It!
I wanted to add tremolo effects to a couple of the songs I perform. I tried the TC Electric Chokra and wasn't happy with the the sound plus the one I received effected my signal chain when it was in the off position. I ordered a TC Pipeline in February and TC kept pushed back delivery to Sweetwater from April to May. I decided to give the "NEW" Electro-Harmonix Nano Pulsar stereo tremolo pedal a try. It gives me the vintage tremolo tone I wanted for some of the classic 60's and 70's rock songs, added nice coloring to country tunes, and it fattens my overall sound when it's set to give a hint of tremolo. I'm running it through a pedal board with clean boost and some delay and reverb set on my Boss Katana 50 amp.
A welcome addition to the nano line.
The older "medium sized" version of this pedal was a favorite on my board and a pedal I regretted selling. As soon as I saw a nano version of this came out I knew I had to have it. It's fairy easy to dial in. I use either a classic amp like sound or a HARD chop. It does either setting perfectly. The volume know is also a welcome upgrade over the old version. EHX does it again!
