Perfect
Sounds just like the large pedal, yet fits perfectly on the pedal board. Awesome choice when space is limited.
Buckle Up!
Plugged this into the front end of a Plugged this into my signal chain through a Marshall Origin, PRS Custom 24 driving, went all crankenstein on the volume and it sounded like the Apocalypse. You can sustain on this thing until you get bored! You can dial it back and shape the tone fairly well with this pedal however, but that's not what I bought it for. Wasnt looking for a blues kick or a Floyd sound so I can't speak to that. But.... if your looking to truly make your guitar scream, roar, this is a great way to get there without alot of fumbling around. This things rocks!
Monster Power
Holy crap.... always wanted this pedal but never got around to actually doing anything about it. Plugged it into my Marshall and it sounds like the Apocalypse, lol. It is the exact sound I was looking for. Built like a tank. Does exactly what it claims to do. Can't believe it's this cheap. So if you're looking to, " wake up the neighbors with a roar like a teenage heavy metal elephant gun," buy this pedal.
old bastard
I'm a forever learner, this is my first fuzz/distortion type pedal. All I can say is it's a fun pedal that has far more capabilities than I expected. It's a keeper for me!!
Fuzzy
If you're looking for the blown, hole punched speaker fuzzy sound then here it is. Simple pedal but gets the job done.
My New Favorite Pedal
I've had the Nano Big Muff for a while now but hadn't really concentrated on it much until recently. All I can say is 'WOW'! At first, I couldn't dial in a decent fuzz tone - just fizz, something like the old Television static when a channel wasn't tuned it. This was most notable when played through my Tele with high output Seymour Duncan HBs loaded in it. I've since put it on the input side of my Orange Crush 35rt with my HSS Strat and I was blown away. Adjusting the knob settings is now meaningful and responsive and I now have the reality of the promise of that legendary Pink Floyd 'Dark Side of the Moon' tone this pedal is famous for and that I have always wanted to achieve. When I add a little reverb in then just gets better and better. For my money, this is an excellent purchase. About the only ding that I can come up with now is that the LED is pretty close to the switch, so when used with a barefoot style switch topper, the light can be difficult to see unless at times.
Amazing fuzz!
Adds a lot of texture to your tone!
Great customer service
Ordered this pedal and it didn't work out of the box. GREAT customer service. Replacement sent right away and works as it should. Takes me back to the 70s. Thanks to my rep Alex and the great service dept.
Great effect
Amazing sustain, cool old school distortion.
Great buy!
I have a love-hate relationship with pedals. Many I buy don't even make it to my pedal board. This EHX Big muff is an exception. Many great sounds can come out of this pedal. The first I dialed in was the distortion/overdrive sound I was looking for. Then came the fun. It wasn't hard to dial in more fuzz and suddenly there was that early Hendrix sound. Should've seen the look on the other guitarist's face - priceless! I usually end up only keeping about one out of every ten or so foot pedals I try out. This one is a keeper.
Legendary fuzz for guitar or bass!
I bought one of these a while back and is my first and only dirt pedal currently, It's very user friendly, sounds good out of the box, Affordable, what's not to love? I run this after my compressor but before my wah to give me a MEAN ginormous sweep which sounds absolutely insane and makes you smile ear to ear, and for you bass players reading this, Cliff used this on the studio recording of Anesthesia paired with a fuzz wah and compressor, absolutely nuts! This is an essential pedal for every player regardless of taste.
This is THE fuzz pedal to have
This pedal is awesome. Great sound for typical 90's grunge/rock. Love it, zero complaints.
Holy Moly
Outstanding classic sound. Can't put my guitar down and can't wait to pick it up since I got the Big Muff Pi nano. I just got into this not quite a year and a half ago. Since I got this pedal the wife not telling me turn the amp down. She said this is the sound she has been waiting to hear. Fabulous pedal
Thanks Calvin and Sweetwater
Good things come in small packages
I love the Nano Big Muff Pi distortion pedal! Packs a serious punch in a small package! Has a wide range of tone and distortion to fit many styles of music. You won't be sorry if you pick one up.
A must have!
I've never owned the original Big Muff so I can't personally speak on how much this resembles the OG but nonetheless it's surpassed my personal expectations.
That classic fuzz sound. I couldn't be happier and highly suggest to everyone!
Classic sound!
I love the sound and the size is great on my pedalboard.
Big muff foot pedal
Pedal is working great. shipping was great .sweetwater has never let me down .dave Hess has been super helpful .sweetwater rocks .
Lots of adjust ability.
Many years ago I owned the original Big Muff. I loved the sound but I also had an Ibanez Tube screamer. Unfortunately the Big Muff didn't fit on my pedal board. I recently saw that they came out with a smaller sized version of the Big Muff so I was curious how it sounded. Of course Sweetwater had a demo video and it sold me. After receiving it and adding it to my pedal board, it sounded great going into my amp. I love the adjust ablilty. Worth the money
Love the Muff
Thank you Sweetwater for my new Nano Big Muff, it sounds amazing! Thank You Matthew LaMarche for your outstanding customer care and service! You "rock" Sweetwater!
big muff nano
i have 7-8 pedals on my board and this big muff nano and a tube screamer is all i need now.Im not writing this because this is what people want to hear but this has to be this best pedal i have ever owned. It will not dissapoint.love it 2 thumbs up
Nano Big Myff
I just love the singing sustain of this pedal. I had an original back in 1970 and this Nano is just like it.
amazing tone
This was my first effects pedal back in 2017 and I simply adore it. Rich fuzz tone that really just screams John frusciante and other great artists who have made the fuzz part of their signature sound. Combine it with a wah, and you have one kick*** tone.
Perfect
This pedal is perfect for the sound I wanted to achieve. Came ready to play with no problems, just plugged my guitar cable into it and plugged it into the amp and i instantly had the perfect sound.
Bad*** effect
When I got into guitar at 14 years old my dad gave me his effects since he wasn't playing anymore and one was just a regular Big Muff. He then wanted to get back into it so I gave him back some stuff like the Big Muff and a TS808 tube Screamer since we had 2 of those. I wanted my Muff back though so I bought this since I love small compact pedals and it still has that warm EHX fuzz tone to it! I love it
A great, versatile pedal
Bought this pedal largely based on the video review of the original Big Muff and the specs that stated this pedal uses the same circuit in a smaller footprint. It really gives an array of sounds: from volume boost for solos to a thicker fuzz. Haven't had the pedal long enough to explore everything but I'm really happy with the purchase. The Sweetwater video reviews of fuzz pedals absolutely helped me make a decision because they show how each pedal will change your guitar's sound.
Nano Big Muff delivers
I've had a Big Muff Pi for years but could never really give it a permanent spot on my pedal board because of its size. Enter the Nano Big Muff Pi. Same great vintage fuzz you expect to hear but in a much smaller package. This Nano Big Muff pedal now occupies a permanent place on my board. If it is old time fuzz that you are looking for, this pedal delivers today just as its big brother has delivered for decades. I can't imagine my board without it these days.
Nano Big Muff Pi
Small but ferocious! This little beast was surprisingly loud, and extremely heavy. Plugged into a Fender Twin for ultimate clean palate start, Found "Siamese" era tone immediately. Also surprising where the artificial harmonics conjured with vintage style strat single coils! pound for pound, this little slice of sonic mayhem delivered!!
Nano Big Muff Pi
The Nano Big Muff Pi is now my favorite pedal. I love the tones I get with this thing and because it's compact it fits perfectly on my pedal board. I was also surprised that Sweetwater had already installed the battery so when I plugged it in I was ready to Jam. Awesome!
Nano Big Muff
I never thought I needed a fuzz unit until I got this thing. It can go from a little grind to fat and juicy without losing clarity. A lot of sound in a pedal board friendly size. Simple to operate and it looks to be very road worthy. What's not to like? Go get you one.
Total Big Muff Sound in small package
This pedal does everything advertised: total Big Muff Pi sound in a smaller box. All the tone, all the sustain, all the distortion you can handle! Not advised for those looking for 'a little boost' to their sound. This is serious fuzz tone. Solid construction, no noise while on by-pass, excellent response on the knobs. I was able to tune in a perfect volume for my multiple amps with different overall volume levels, no problem. And of course, Sweetwater provided their top-class service and support throughout the buying experience. Best price, top-notch support, and fast shipping. You guys ROCK!!!
Nothing like a real classic
30 years…….
That's how long I have been chasing tone now. Every combination of OD, Distortion and modularity you can think of but I really was never satisfied with any of them. Then I matured a bit and went back to the things that got me into guitar in the first place. The Big Muff was definitely a huge part of that. Dial in every tone you want with the twist of a knob from soft velvety sustain and fuzz to all out metal God distortion this effect has the pedigree to match my minimal approach. Mix up a good tube amp and a whole lot of attitude and let the music speak for itself. No need for a degree in computer science to hit the gas pedal on this one, no siree!!!!!!
My favorite Lil thing
This thing is amazing.mine isn't noisey at all like what I read on other reviews. For ambient rock that is on the heavey side this thing is perfect to squeeze between reverb pedals. I tried other fuzz pedals for shoegaze and nine are as good as this one. I had the bigger one for a while it's huge and takes a bunch of pedalboard space so tried this and it's sonically identical so that was amazing and perfect for me.its absolutely essential as far as I'm concerned. The only thing is that the footswitches in electro-harmonix are inferior to soft switches like on the walrus and earthquakes pedals. I had a holy grail and the switch broke so I'm always concerned it may happen again but with my muff considering that the build feels similar but no problems yet.
THICK CHEWY TONE!!! And very easy to dial in
First off it's the same circuit in this box as the other (more expensive) Big muff. It sounds great. You won't be disappointed with this one. Saves room on the pedal board it does. I personally wasn't sure if I was gonna like because it for my first fuzz pedal. Messed around with the knobs and I was slamming on a tone that I was happy with right out of the gate. This pedal and the op amp version can put you in awe if you learn the way the pedal works. I'm not disappointed with any part of my purchase. Sweetwater is amazing and always have been. You guys restore my faith in humanity
Classic Noise Machine.
Got this pedal recommended to me by a Friend who is in a Sludge metal project and decided to purchase it. Low and behold, this thing rips. You can conjure up anywhere from classic fuzz tones reminiscent of the old 60s tones to modern Sludge tones by just using the Tone & Sustain controls. Thick tones indeed.
Holy smokes.
Found an old, scratched-up one at my local music shop. I asked if I could give it a try, and promptly dropped it between a G&L Fallout and a Marshall Origin 20.
I strummed some clean, then clicked on the pedal. Suddenly, I had the *overwhelming* urge to hit a G# 11th fret octave cord and let it sustain as long as it could. So I did, and it held for almost thirty seconds.
I bought it five minutes later. Best $... I've spent in a looooong time.
Long live the Muff!
A smaller version of the best fuzz box in the world! It's fantastic! Compared to their flagship big box Big Muff, this little guy is a little less creamy, has a bit less hair to the notes, but is a bit brighter and considerably louder. Get one today!
From light stubble to full beard fuzz
I was playing some grunge songs and thought to myself, "Man, this would really sound great with some fuzz." I finally decided on this pedal, and I'm glad I did. It's a much friendlier size than the Big Muff Pi, but doesn't lose anything in tone. With the sustain turned all the way down it fattens up the single coils on my strat and adds a little hair to the sound. At halfway I can get thick, fuzzy tone that still has tons of definition. Crank it all the way up and single note solos really sing. My only complaint is it really accentuates the single coil hum, especially at higher gain. No problem on the in-between pickup settings on my strat, or on the bridge humbucker though.
Great pedal.
I was having a hard time finding a distorted sound that I liked for my maple neck fender strat . I wish I had bought this years ago. Enough fuzz to make my single coil strat really sing. Put a phase 90 in front of it and was blown away for solo work.
Great Pedal
I waited for years to finally buy this pedal because I was expecting something else. After I saw a demo on You Tube, I decided to take the plunge.
Great old school distortion and sounds great. Going through my Blues Jr, I have discovered that can get a bunch of new tones that I did not have before.
I usually run the Sustain about 9 o'clock as getting much more that that is a bit much for me.
I didn't give it 5 stars because it falls off dramatically below 10 o'clock on the sustain and makes it a bit harder to dial in than I would expect.
Still a good deal and a good addition to my pedal board
How to blend your sound
I really enjoy the big muff with my compression pedal.. the two of them create what is needed for a paf sound.. the big muff has a decent chime..it is a good alternative for gain and some
Good Pedal
This pedal sounds great through my fender tube amp. It has that classic sustained fuzz that you can only get from a big muff. My only gripe is that the volume doesn't seem to push very hard after a certain point. When recording it can get a it washed out in the mix.
EH Nano Big Muff
Let me start by saying it is definitely a fuzz pedal and the quality of the pedal is at the top end of the scale - rugged and will hold up.
The reason I dinged it one star is because of control of the fuzz. This thing seems to be all out, full blown Hendrix fuzz or nothing. I was hoping for the ability to better dial in or control the level of the effect. I use it most of the time with the sustain dialed all the way counter-clockwise and its still pretty load with fuzz affect.
nano big muff
David Gilmore in a BOX !!! yup !!!!
pedal board friendly
Great cause it's pedal board friendly.
You have to be accurate not to hit the tone knob with your toe.
I have a few other 90s big green russian Muffs, this one comes close but doesn't have the warmth.
Overall its a good pedal. I use it cause I'm afraid of breaking or losing my old green Muffs. I like having too many good Muffs.
Nano Big Muff Pi
Strong earthy fuzz upon first test. I gave it to my son for Xmas. Now all he needs is a Wah-wah pedal for the bitchen fuzz-wah tone!
Not Bad
Somehow I was expecting great things but to be honest the Ibanez Super Metal is a better pedal, but still it does have it's merits. You get a great full throated distorted tone out of it. I'd say very Early Black Sabbath like, very thick. It has good clarity and frequency response but I did notice it gets a bit muffled if you push it. The Ibanez has good clarity throughout. But what I do like about it, if you use it with the Ibanez you get some of the richest Distorted tones you can imagine. And if you throw in the Ibanez Tube Screamer there isn't a Tone you can't acquire and that's how I use it. Your neighbors will hate you but your listeners will love it. Turn it to 11.
Noisy Nano
There are things I love about this pedal...the size, that thick old school tone, the never ending sustain...and then there's the noise...the hum...the hiss...sorry but even with an EHX silencer I was not able to kill the hum without clipping the heck out of everything else. I'm in the process of building my ultimate pedal board, one stomp box at a time, and there's no room for noise in my chain...I use this stuff in my home studio...no time for hum chasing. Fortunately I have a Big Muff PI Bass full size model that works very well and is quiet as a mouse. Maybe I got a bad apple since I don't see any other complaints of this type. Still love EHX pedals regardless.
its ok but dont sound like an old one
its ok but just anoter to ad to the pile im still looking for the sound I got in my head
