D'Addario NYXL45130SL Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings - .045-.130 Regular Light Super Long Scale 5-string Reviews
D'Addario's NYXL Bass Strings aim to deliver exceptional dynamic range and wide harmonic response. Their recipe is NYXL nickel-plated wrap wire around their NY Steel core. The plated string windings have increased magnetic properties that give you higher output and vibrant midrange tone. Bassists at Sweetwater like these strings because their rich harmonic content makes it easy to shape your tone for virtually any style. They also stay in tune very well. Whether you slap and pop or play laid back R&B grooves, you'll be able to find a great tone with D'Addario NYXL Bass Strings.

FANTASTIC STRINGS!
I play a pair of Lakland 55-02's (not simultaneously) and all these years I've been using Lakland strings because hardly any others ever seemed to be long enough to comfortably accommodate the long scale - these D'Addarios are AMPLY long for my 35" scale neck, and the TONE is a new height in my 30 years of bass playing... These strings are present and zingy WITHOUT the shrill brightness that other strings have had straight out of the pack. They have punch and snap, plenty of body, just the right tension and resilience when plucked or popped - man, just night and day from my many, many packs of Lakland strings (which are more often out of stock than in, it seems.) Just killer strings, worth every penny.
Very nice strings
I put a set of these on my Ibanez EHB1505MS and I will emphatically state; I really like these strings! Here's why. First of all, new strings tend to freshen things up, but also bring that "zingy" sound on a bass that drives me a little nuts. These D'Addarios do not exhibit that. They have a definite "new string sound" but withoutthe harshness that accompany a fresh set of strings. Then there's the feel. These strings have a nice feel and flexibility to them right out of the box. They almost feel like they've been broken-in already before installation. The combination of this texture and the sound these D'Addario strings produce makes my EHB an even bigger joy to play!
Best strings I've ever used.
Right out of the box, these things sound absolutely killer. I try to throw some coating on the strings, otherwise they like to rub dead skin off and dirty them pretty quickly. If you take good care of them out of the gate, then they will reliably last you as long as you need. I just wish I had the money to put new sets on more frequently.

Excellent consistency- bright
Exceptionally Different
I realize that strings are a subjective religious debate. But try these - at least ONCE. Here"s why... I have tried all but one major brand on my #1 bass in the last couple years (seriously). This is the only repeat set. They are easy to play, easy to break in, stay in tune better, easy on the hands, last longer with consistent tone and sound the BEST of any other major brand or type. I won"t even list the others I"ve tried, but it"s lengthy. These are leaps and bounds better than the run of the mill strings and worth the extra money by every penny. You make it up on the quality and time saved.
Best Bass Strings in Rounds
These are simply fantastic versatile and slick as oil fast. Whether 4 or 5, rock, jazz, country or something else...these will sing for you
Best Strings for a 5 String
I had a hard time with the local shops selling me the wrong strings for my Ibanez BTB745 (too short). I was pleased to see Sweetwater had these in Super Long which fit the 35" scale of the BTB.
They have been on my bass since last August and are still crisp and new sounding. I play at home but really like to hammer the strings and these have retained the new, clean sound from day one. I highly recommend them!
The Best Strings Out There
Love these strings. Jumped around with a lot of different brands but these just feel right.
I like 'em!
Clean, crisp tone - a "live" string. Only improvement for me would be to wrap the ends on the tuning machine like other strings do. It makes it easier for me to grab and wind.
Weak Spot/Design Issue
I love the sound of these strings. They are a bit spendy, but they do hold up well under abusive situations. HOWEVER this is the 2nd package where a string has broken WHILE I am stringing the bass. My bass is high quality, no burrs; 1st time it was the A string. 2nd time, the D string. Both times it broke in the same place, the lone wire wrapped around the ball. The string popped, and the ball went flying across the room. (Sweetwater comped the 2nd set) Disappointed. Going back to cheaper strings -
Just a PSA
Did not wish to give these strings a bad review, I haven"t used them, but I have heard them and they sound great.
I have an ESP B1005MS (fanned fret) and had ordered a set, having been told these would work for that bass, the B string is too short for 37 inch scale length. D"Addario"s website says these will fit up to 38 inch scale length, that however does not seem to be the case. Just wanted to let the public know.
Cheers!
They are just NOT long enough
This is the second set of Super Long scale D'Addario strings I've bought for my Ibanez BTB multi scale bass, and both sets, the winding tapers short of the nut AND zero fret by at least 1/4" and thus i cannot use them.
My bass has a 37 1/4" scale length, thesr are advertised at 38" scale and they do not fit, they are too short.
If you have a 36" scale these will be excellent, but they're a total failure for me.
