NS Design NXT4a Radius Bass Guitar - Sunburst Reviews
The NS Design NXT4a is one of the most forward-thinking bass guitars on the planet. Its innovative Diradial body boasts a concave back, radiused front, and wedge-shaped body that supply unprecedented playing comfort. Its balanced NXTa Radius maple neck eschews a headstock with heavy tuners to give you a balanced, lightweight instrument. Add to that an easy-playing RichLite fretboard, and you have a bass that's hard to put down. As for the sound — the NXT4a's NS/EMG-designed pickups capture every ounce of its natural tone, while Dual Mode Output Electronics deliver a wide palette of sonic textures. Complete with an ultra-stable self-clamping tuning system, the NXT4a is meticulously crafted in the Czech Republic.

I like it!
I bought this bass as a backup for my Steinberger M-series bass. The nxt4a has excellent balance, no neck dive, and is lighter than my Steinberger. I primarily use it in passive mode and can get a good range of tones from it, but the super capacitor can be charged up in 60 seconds for 16 hours of charge for active mode. No need to buy batteries.
The new bridge design allows for the use of regular strings instead of having to find double ball end strings. I got the action set low, this bass is very easy to play. The neck isn't too thin. The fretwork is very good, no sharp ends. My Steinberger may end up being the backup.
It’s okay
I"ll try to be as descriptive as possible with this NS Design Bass review, It"s a very full sounding Bass compared to the WAV bass for starters. A definite upgrade from the WAV without having a Harsh Piezo bridge for a pickup. I really liked the sound out of this one and it weighed a bit less than the WAV (it even felt a bit smoother from the neck), with the ability to charge this bass through a wall charger really saves yourself a couple bucks and the trip to get yourself a 9V battery.
This instrument definitely cuts through in the mix but I couldn"t justify the price and the limitations of this instruments only having 2 volume and 1 tone knob. Wish it had more tone control despite having a really nice rechargeable battery. It"s an OK sounding bass for me.
Great looks but poor functioning
It's a super nice design in terms of looks and curved back. I really wished the bass played well. After professional attempts to get rid of neck/fret buzzes, even with an open string with sustain, it just couldn't be done. I actually am really bummed about it because I really love the design in terms of looks, weight, unique charging. I was super surprised at the malfunctioning it had, despite attempts to fix. Sadly returned.. very sadly.
