Behringer NX4-6000 1600-watt 4-channel Power Amplifier Reviews
The Behringer NX4-6000 packs an impressive amount of power into a lightweight, cool-running unit. This power amplifier delivers 1,600 watts into four channels at 2 ohms or 3,000 watts into two channels at 4 ohms, so you'll have plenty of headroom to work with. Experience low noise, superior transient response, and low power consumption, thanks to an efficient switch-mode power supply. Benefit from a linear frequency response at any speaker load, by virtue of the NX4-6000's SmartSense loudspeaker impedance compensation. Behringer NX4-6000
Worked for just over 4 years and failed to turn on.
Amp failed after 15 shows..... replacement amp failed after 21 shows. Bring a bckup.
This amp was used to drive my small FOH PA... 2 8 ohm 15" Main speakers and 2 8 ohm 18" subs. Channels 1&2 were run in stereo and channels 3&4 were bridged mono.. The first failed amp was replaced by sweetwater the replacement amp blew up this weekend at a relatively small gig. The amps were never really pushed and both failed in the same way... When working these were super convenient allowing me to drive my mains without a system processor. I am replaceing with a more reliable 4 channel amplifier and a system processor...
Bad ars amp
Bought this amp March 2025 and love it. Used it first in my home studio and it worked great. It does have some fan noise so I just hit the power button during recording and turn it back on for play back. Then used it at my next gig and powered the entire PA and monitors with it. Ran channels A and B Mon and full range and bridged C and D for 2 18in subs. Played all night(4 hours) the unit was still cool to the touch. Can't beat this amp for the price.
Works really really good but had an important issue that everybody should check!!
Works really really good but had an important issue that everybody should check!!, this weekend, when turned on the amplifier exploded something inside, i did some test and continued working with it, i opened today and found a metal part moving inside that was not in the place that should be with a missing screw, that caused a short circuit damaging the crossover functions, just to let you know, you should verify your amps
Zero Complaints for the Price
Killer amp
I had read the reviews from other people about the fn noise and I found it not a problem. If you're recording with the amp in the same room, turn it off! It has plenty of power and the light weight is a definite plus. All in all very happy!
DC
Lightweight and powerful.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a stereo amp for HF and a bridged amp for one LF. Got it in one easy to transport package.
Great amp
Using this amp to power four individual monitors for my band. The old mixer had 4 400 watt amps built in. With the added power of these the monitors are much more clean and clear. Would recommend and buy again should I need one for an install sometime.
Worked Great - For a while
We purchased this NX4-6000 and 3 months later it was dead. Got another and it died in 1 month. Took me a while to get around to complaining so we are stuck having to send it in for service. I will say the sound was amazing, powerful, crystal clear. I really appreciated this amplifier and wish it didn't stop working. We powered (4), 6ohm Bose speakers with it. Channel 1, and 3. Input was an ipod to RCA. Set to Mono due to using the 3.5mm to RCA input. Still sounded better than our place has in years. Unfortunately - seems like most likely a paper weight. We are going to send in for service. But we still have to buy another unit in the mean time.
For the money, it’s a solid product
Had the older version in the past. New version seems to be the same. Worth the money paid for it.
Behringer NX4-6000 4 channel
This really does a nice job. I needed an amp to run 2- 18" subs and a pair of 3 way mains. Lots of power and very clear at high levels. The thing that amazed me was how light the unit is. 4 sets of led meters to show output. So far so good.
Very very noisy
The fan noise is so loud you will never use in a studio
Not even worth being a paper weight
I purchased this AMP in September of 2019 to replace 2 Behringer iNuke 1000's that failed shortly after their warranty expired. At 1st I was impressed with the AMP as it is light weight and plenty of power. After only 3+ months channel 2 stopped working (no output). Because I was only using 3 channels as a short term fix I went from using channels 1/2/3 to 1/3/4 until I could return the AMP for repair as I use this every week for shows and band rehearsal. Now only 1 channel in the AMP (channel 4) is working and I have to send it back. I now have 3 iNuke 1000 that are junk and this is added to the pile. Stay away from any Behringer product as it is absolute garbage.
Good power Amp. 4 channels of power.
Quite adequate for our applications. We currently use it to power our stage monitors. The fan exhaust blows out the front as opposed to the rear. You'll just have to keep your instrument mics at a distance from your instrument mics as the fans could be noisy. Otherwise, a great unit. Easy to use and stereo to boot.
Great amp, but...
It definitely performs as advertised, my only complaint is that the power indicator light is so dim you can barely see it.
Love these amps
Nice power, clean uncolored sound. Love the weight. Have used the INukes series since they hit the market personally and in installs in churches. No problems with any of them. You can push them hard and they just take it. This particular unit does not come with a limiter though so a negative there but will be using with a speaker management system so not an issue for my application. Would be nice if it had one though.
Powerful
Light and powerful cooll sound
Peavey 215 with NX4-6000
Has plenty of power was hooked up to dual peavey
15 inches 215. Worked flawless for the amps
First use. Buying more peaveys for this four channel and I would definitely buy another 1 or 2 amps to have
As a backup in the future plus at this price point why not
Double the power plus more speakers always louder!!! This amp is so light as well. Knobs were set to 75% no clipping at all. So loud !!!
Nx4-6000 WOW
I have this powering 2 peavey 215 put it this way I"m
Getting 3 more pairs of peaveys and 2 more of these amps !!!!
Better than ever
I own five of the discontinued iNuke 4-6000's and a few other iNukes. Got one of these because I needed another 4 channel amp. I love the older 4-6000's for their versatility and this amp is even better. I was never a Behringer guy, always used QSC and have a truckload of (heavy even though they're "Powerlight") PL's. But I thought why not save my back and bank account and give these a try. I'm a believer. This amp is a beauty. And while a bit more $$ than the NU 4-6000 it's still a great deal. Hoping the price goes down and I'll snag another. I like the fact I can run a 7000 watt amp rack off a 20 amp circuit, lift it in and out of the truck by myself, and no heat too. Technology is beautiful.

NX4-600
I just purchased this for my set up and I couldn't be happier. The amount of sound I'm able to pump into my speakers now is incredible. Having one 18inch subwoofer and a 215 stack both passive I have really took a step up with my sound and tone. I also have two powered 15inch speakers and now having the nx4 600 my stage is complete for what I do. Playing chunky house jams with this tone can bring the club to any party in town! The wattage is perfect for this setup my subwoofer requires 1000 watts to sound perfect and the 215 stack needs 1100 to level it all out with some high and med tone. If you're looking for a great product at a good price look no further.
Functions as expected. Wish cooling fans were quieter...
This amp functions as expected. Very clean sound, enhanced the bass. We had an A500 in our setup, which was fanless, so still getting used to the cooling fan noise on this amp. Otherwise, so far it seems to be a solid product.
This is a keeper.
Yea, it's really good. Using it to power a stereo FOH mix and two monitor mixes. It sounds great, tons of clean power to spare and it is super lightweight. I have six power amps, and this is the best one I've ever bought. It has built in crossovers too, if you should ever need them!
