6-String Acoustic-electric Guitar with Spruce Top, Walnut Back and Sides, Mahogany Neck, and Ebony Fingerboard - Natural

Steel string and electric players can all agree that switching to a nylon string isn't easy. In fact, it can be downright hard! To make the transition easier, Yamaha built the NTX3. This acoustic-electric has a low action and comfortably slim neck that makes playing easier than ever. You'll find it easy to fret complex chords and play lead lines. the cutaway body gives you complete access to the upper frets without having to awkwardly contort your hand. Made from all-solid tonewoods, this guitar displays a lively resonant quality and a sweet sustain. It's also equipped with Yamaha's Atmosfeel electronics that appeal to performers of all types. Whether you're a seasoned nylon player or making the switch from electric or steel strings, the Yamaha NTX3 is a great option.

Perfect guitar - Great service

By Thanh Ngo from LORTON, VA on February 12, 2024

This "crossover" guitar is perfect for my needs. It's beautiful, easy to play, and high quality.

Sweetwater Engineer, Will Traynor, is the best. He's always there if you need anything. Thanks a lot, Will.

Worth every penny

By Karl Truitt from Grand Rapids, MI on December 29, 2023 Music Background: Accomplished Classical / Concert Guitarist

...OK...it's made in China...BUT...it has the best tone and projection of any Classical guitar I've every owned...and I own some very fine guitars. I suspect Yamaha keeps a close eye on the quality coming our of their factory in China (yes Yamaha owns the factory). I lowered the action a bit (personal preference). Some guys are bitching about the case...listen..the case is just fine...fits the guitar like a glove. Yamaha has stepped up their game....get one.

The Best From Ordering to In My Hands

By Karl from Berkeley Springs, WV on November 21, 2021 Music Background: 50 years of music

First let Me say I've played many nylon string guitars and Yamaha is by far building the best for the money right now. The finish on this
guitar is flawless, the sound is wonderful and the neck is just what I needed. From the first note I knew I made the right decision. And
to top it off the case is great too. I just can't say enough about how this guitar was packed by Sweetwater shipping department, they are
really far and above every other dealer in the industry. Of Course I was nervous about it traveling 1/2 way across the country but the
way it was packed was tops. I've had bad experiences from other companies and I've just decided to avoid them altogether now.
Sweetwater is my store and my rep Jeff Barnett could not be any better. Thank's Jeff for being there time and time again.

Truly great guitar for it's intended purpose.

In my over 50 years of playing guitar, I've probably owned 10 nylon string guitars. I never hung on to them for long because of the wide neck, string spacing and action. The NXT3 right out of the box changed my mind about the possibilities of ever finding a nylon string that I would be comfortable playing. I did take the action down at the saddle a bit (a personable preference) after a couple of days (acclimation time) and the guitar is now perfect for steel string acoustic and electric players. It needed no further adjustment. The pickup system is impressive also. Even the case is pretty nice. A perfect guitar at a great price from Sweetwater.

Rich tone and quality all the way

This guitar is comfortable to play and stays in tune well. It's beautiful to look at and the tonal quality is superb.

Sound through PA

By Ken Barnard from Idaho on November 10, 2023 Music Background: Vocals and guitar

It sounds better through a PA if you use the Fishman toneDEQ. When using the internal mic, not so good in my opinion.
