Expensive...but peace of mind.

By Phil Chapman from N. California on June 23, 2019 Music Background: Semi pro

I use my Sennheiser unit in a couple of different pre-wired gear setups depending on the gig, so needed another power source. Yes I could have found a "might work" one in my junk box or a used store, but ya know...that Sennheiser receiver unit was not cheap...why risk it? This says "Sennheiser" on it, has the same yellow plug that came with my unit....aaaaah! Peace of mind....

Terrible quality, plug breaks, extremely thin wire frays and breaks, nowhere near capable of road use

By Scott MacLean from Strongsville, OH on October 21, 2021

As you know, if you are looking at this review, this is a power supply for a professional Sennheiser wireless mic receiver.

As such, it should be built to professional levels, using professional quality components. Unfortunately, it is not, which no doubt is why you are reading this looking for a replacement.

After a year and a half of occasional, gentle road use (2-3 times a week), one of the plastic clips that holds the US-type plug onto the unit broke, and the plug fell off. I fixed that with Krazy glue. The wire used for the cord is SO THIN and FRAGILE that it frayed and broke at BOTH ends. The strain reliefs used at both the plug and the jack ends are far too strong for the delicate, thin wire used, so the wire frays and breaks immediately outside the strain reliefs.

I ended up having to do an emergency on-site fix with Scotch tape and zip ties in order to get it to work through a show. I bought a replacement, and it too failed (same thin wires frayed and broke) after only a year.

So I bought ANOTHER one. This replacement, now only a few months old, is already showing signs of wear. I'm planning to buy yet ANOTHER replacement to carry along as a reserve spare, which is ridiculous.

I expect more from Sennheiser.
