Roc-N-Soc Nitro Drum Throne with Original Saddle - Black
Roc-N-Soc Nitro Drum Throne with Original Saddle - Black Reviews
The Roc-N-Soc Nitro Throne is the cure for your aching you-know-what. If you're struggling with a throne that's past its expiration date, it's time to invest in your backside. Seriously, the Nitro throne sports a gas shock absorber, so your back stays fatigue-free. The ergonomically cushioned seat spins, so your spine doesn't have to. And there's an easy-to-use gas lift for quick height adjustments. For comfort and durability at a great price, Sweetwater drummers agree that it's tough to beat Roc-N-Soc's Nitro Throne!
Fantastic chair
Very comfortable stool. I use it for guitar. Was super easy to set up as well. Always a great experience purchasing from Sweetwater. My sales rep Aaron always checks in to make sure I'm happy with my purchase. Also shipped very fast.
This is the one you want!
Get cha one of these and be very happy that you did !
So comfortable
A big improvement over my old thrones.
My but doesn't hurt anymore.
And my fingers don't get caught on the metal, trying to move it up and down
Worth every cent!
Not only is these a reputable brand, but it is every bit as comfortable as it looks. It takes less than 1 min to assemble and can adjust 18-24" height. I use this for guitar and sometimes drums.
I have 3 other stools and I have a 28" tall roc n soc fixed stool, the adjustability is wear it's at, fits any friends over to jam and you can sit for hours in comfort.
If your a tall guy there is an extended 24-30" height version, but the normal fits my needs
Best Throne Ever!
I have a standard Roc-N-Soc that I use for live gigs, and this nitro version blows it out of the water. Super comfortable and supportive, and for a great price. Will most likely never get another throne again.
Back pain no more!
This throne is very comfortable and eliminates the back pain I used to suffer towards the end of long gigs. Great product!
Excellent Seat for Guitar
I use this for guitar practice, rather than drums, and have been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it is. Solidly built, no squeaks, lift works great and it is comfy, even for my ever widening derrière. Highly recommend.
This thing is Invincible!!!
We got this for use at the church and it has for sure been abused from day one by a few pretty good sized guys and it is still doing its job with no issues...
Sitting comfy
I should have gotten this throne years ago. It is the most comfortable and useful drum throne I've ever had. Easy to adjust between my drums and congo/bongo set up. For my aging back I have ordered the backrest for this unit. That can easily be on or off as needed. Service from Alex at Sweetwater is best and they made good on delivery when the first one go lost. Roc n Soc. Just get you one; you will love it!
Finally!
I absolutely love this drum throne! No more numbness or lower back pain! Should have bought one years ago! Super happy with this purchase!
Best chair
Not only best throne but best chair ever. Blows doors on dw. The hydraulic spring is awesome. Build is super solid. Get it
Solid Throne
I've only had this throne for a few weeks, but I do like it. When it comes to hardware, I want to be able to use it and forget about it. Time will tell. As for now, though, I'm happy.
Most Reviewed Roc n Soc Product
Just leaving a quick review to say this product from the Roc N Soc series is the very best. I also own the spindle and Lunar type thrones. By far this is my personal favorite, and I use this throne for all my Live Playing Situations. The gas "bounce" adds to the comfort.
Roc n Soc throne
I find the drum throne that I purchased very comfortable and sturdy, easy to use I have the Nitro throne and makes my nights more manageable considering we do 80 shows per year.. Regards,Bo Gregory
Great Throne
Great chair! When it comes in stock def buy it if the have the money
Should have bought it years ago...
Learned the hard way not to save on the most important part of the set, could have saved me a lot of back pain...
Excellent throne:comfortable and stable, saves one the energy for the real thing - playing music (instead of wasting it trying to stay balanced)
Best drum throne you can buy!
I've been playing drums for decades, and the Roc-N-Soc is hands down the most comfortable and easily adjustable throne out there. I often micro-adjust my seat height +/- an inch, depending on my mood and quick adjust is also handy when I'm working with other drummers and we swap places. I've used Roc-N-Soc over the years and am excited to finally have my own. Now spending more time in the saddle, I hadn't previously noticed how amazing the slight shock-absorbing bounce of the gas shock reduces fatigue. Treat yourself - it's worth it!
Drumming chair!!
Very comfortable and durable!!
Amazing Throne!
treat yourself
This is THE drum throne your body wants. Just give in and treat yourself!
I use it for drums, but I mainly use it for guitar playing. Perfect, comfortable, great quality, cannot recommend it enough!
Sit Right Down
It's comfortable, secure, and packs up easily. I wish it was a few inches taller.
Nitro gas
Rocking sock thrones have already been a favorite of mine Since way back when they were pretty much 1st with the tractor style, or bicycle seat style drum throne... And this nitrogas with hydraulic height adjustment is the best upgrade to their standard original drum thrown...love It's so much I use it for pretty much everything I need to sit down for Because I also purchased the backrest now that I'm old!!!
A Game of Thrones
Love this throne with every bone in my butt - had been using a standard throne for most of my drumming career and finally splurged as I was starting to get a lot of lower back and *** pain. This throne is definitely worth it, very very comfortable for your toosh! The best part is if you have multiple people rotating on the drums, the gas lift to adjust the throne comes in so handy for folks of different heights. Highly recommend and thank you Sweetwater for getting it to me so fast!
Roc-n-Soc Nitro Rider Drum Throne - Doctor Approved
The Roc-n-Soc Nitro Rider drum throne is a must if you're spending hours at your kit and are serious about your music and staying comfortable. The ergonomic design, along with the gas shock absorber, minimizes postural fatigue and back pain. As a chiropractor, proper sitting and support has always been something I discuss with my patients. You owe it to yourself to have a comfortable throne that allows you to focus on your music. Having played drums for over 50 years and sitting on a lot of different thrones, the Roc-n-Soc Nitro Rider drum throne is simply the best!
Roc n Soc Nitro drum throne
Drumming for over 40 years and having multiple drum thrones I can say this is by far the most comfortable throne I have used. I always had back pain after playing for 20 minutes but not with this one. After playing with this Roc n soc I felt great. Highly recommend this. Also a big shout out to Evan at Sweetwater. Great follow up and stayed in contact thru the whole process. Got this in just two days after ordering!! Great experience!!
A different application
I've been playing drums for decades. In the past 10 years I have played more percussion so I am now standing when I play. But, I've always wanted a great drum throne. I am a professional photographer during the day and recently had a thought, a pneumatic drum throne would make an awesome posing stool! It's big, comfortable, and packs up fairly compact to travel. Little did I realize how much easier it would be for my clients to settle into this stool that looks like it will take a substantial load. Many of my older executives are carrying some extra pounds and have sat cautiously on my posing stool, but not at my last gig. In addition, it was a great conversation piece with several of the clients that recognized it for what it was. I wish I had thought of this sooner!
Nice
I needed a comfortable throne that I could also use to practice guitar.
Great for both. Buy the back rest, it's worth every penny.
Seat is comfortable / well padded, everything is adjustable.
I bought a mid priced throne and gave it away when I used the RNS once.
A little pricey but in the end ( no pun intented ) you'll be happier.
View from the Throne
The view from this throne is fantastic. I play solo piano and I play long sets.
The first time I used the roc n soc I didn't notice it at all. In fact, I didn't notice any back pain or foot cramps are anything associated with sitting for long periods.
That's when I knew I made the right choice. Light and easy to setup and easy to sit on.
It's good. Sneaky good
Buy This Throne!
I bought this throne to replace a PDP PDDT710R, which was a little difficult to adjust and tended to get a little loose, so I'd have to tighten it a few times every practice session. There is no comparison to the Roc-N-Soc, which is more stable (even though it freely rotates). I am short (~5'7"), and the height range is fine for me. However, if you are 5'10" or so, you likely need to consider the extended version (but you probably want to ask the guys at Sweetwater). Anyway, this throne is 100% worth the money.
Oh wow
New drum kit new drum throne baby really
Nice I went from a 75$pdp throne to this and I can actully feel my hit after 25 min
Fantastic
I couldn't be happier with this drum throne. Absolutely solid construction, and unbelievably comfortable.
Roc-n-Soc Nitro
(I have owned both a BLACK one and RED one...)
Solid construction and absolutely wonderful to play on! (Coming from a 270 lb guy.) It's ample seat has a great feel and an awesome bounce. And having the airlift changes everything! It is so convenient to adjust yourself up and down, so precisely, INSTANTANEOUSLY! I was happy to know the stool can still swivel, and won't come off of the stand from you when you need to pick it up and move it. The plush top is as luxurious as it is gorgeous, and my butt has not stopped thanking me yet! I LOVE IT and you will too. TREAT YOURSELF!!
Great throne
My 3rd R & S in the past 25 plus yrs. Nothing compares.
Steve V
Comfort
I can sit on this throne for hours and still feel my a**. The comfort is unbelievable. Buy it. I really have nothing bad to say about it.
Drum throne
It's working oit great!
Roc N Soc Nitro Throne
The seat is nice and wide. Very comfortable. The hydraulic height adjustment is fantastic!!
Great chair
I don't have anything but positive things to say about this chair. I bought the back also and I use it for a guitar chair and it's great
This was much needed!
This drum throne is great!! No regrets! A much well needed upgrade!
Great Investment
Once you sit in a quality chair like this there would be no going back I regret that no one informed me don't throw $60 away on a round seat. Invest in yourself invest in your comfort
Most important part of my kit
A friend waxed poetic about how much he liked this throne and I was skeptical. Having injured my hip last year just about any chair is uncomfortable and my old drum throne was particularly egregious. This throne however lets me get in more play time because I don't notice it at all. I use it on the drum kit, it spins around and I play guitar on it, it's even been carried into other rooms for other tasks. An explanation of why I can't puzzle out but this throne is seriously impressive and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
Nothings too good for my butt
This is my second Roc N Soc thrown. I needed a second for my acoustic kit. The cloth fabric keeps one from sliding around and the padding is super plush. Keeping the same comfort and feel was important to me to keep fit, feel and function uniform whether playing digital or acoustic kits. You rarely see this thrown used as no one wants to give them up!
best
Best seat I've owned. Well worth the premium price!
No Going Back
Now in my late 40's I remember my first throne being a chair from the kitchen and even sitting on a milk crate during one gig when my plywood stool (couldn't be called a throne) broke in 2 pieces. I continued to be frugal (i.e. the $60 thrones) until I sat on this when at a fellow drummers house. I immediately bought one for my set at home and am looking to buy another for my set at my guitar players house. With it's large comfy cushion and shock absorption I am permanently spoiled and there is No Going Back. LOL
Great drums throne and very good service from Dave Cody
My son loves this drum throne.
Whoa, what have I been doing all these years?!
I've skimped on the good throne for years thinking something like this to be luxury. Now I see that I've been screwing up! My playing actually improved a bit when I ditched the starter throne for this puppy... I think it's because it took a lot of strain off of my lower back and allowed me to further loosen up. I can now play for hours with good posture. If you're thinking about buying one of these JUST DO IT. You won't regret the purchase.
Better for multiple users
I previously used the manually adjusted version of this throne, which I liked and was very comfortable. My wife decided to learn to play drums. This hydraulic Roc-N-Soc has allowed us to change the height of the throne instantly and saved any hassle. So far it is also comfortable and there have been no issues. Neither of us is heavy. YMMV.
Great comfort for long sessions
I've used a basic round drum throne for years and had to get up every hour or so and walk around to take a break. This Roc-N-Soc drum throne is so comfortable I can play for hours! My prior throne was very stationary. This one spins and absorbs impact! I didn't think I would like that, but it's very nice. I would highly recommend.
My hiney is happy
No complaints at all. Extremely comfortable.
Very comfortable
I stream on Twitch.tv so I play often for hours at a time and I have tried a few different stools and this one is incredibly comfy. It is well-built and sturdy, and since it has no armrests I can play guitar without the armrests getting in the way. Excellent stool, and it is great if you have back problems for sure! I highly recommend it.
Comfortable - Makes me feel like a King!
This is my first real throne and I really got a great one. It has enough padding and yet feels quite sturdy and stable. Highly recommend!
It is AWESOME
Yes. This drum throne is very comfortable and looks awesome. I had an old standard Tama throne and this throne beats it out. I say if your looking for a good drum throne get this one. You can't beat it. Sweetwater is awesome fast shipping. Great conversations too. I am very pleased I saved up for a newer and better drum throne. Keep drumming. Get this throne. Just awesome
Finally replaced my first Roc-N-Soc!
After 20+ years I decided it was time to replace my first Roc-N-Soc! It's awesome! I now use my old throne as a regular chair in my studio.
Why did I wait so long
Why did I wait so long. So worth it.
Terrific throne.
Really comfortable. Easy to adjust. All around a great, solid throne.
Good throne
Very comfortable and steady. Worth the money
Awesome
It is

A Throne Fit for a King
Major durability, serious comfort, excellent adjustability, and dead quiet. What else could you want from a professional drum throne?
Roc-N-Soc
The first Roc-N-Soc I bought in 1996. It was a round seat with a back rest . Now I've got my second Rock and sock with your hydraulics the motorcycle seat with the back it is far the best seat I've ever sat in I love the convenience of the hydraulic if you drop a drum key or drumstick you can go down and pick it up I love the way it Maneuvers when I play my double bass I thank Jacob and all the people and Sweetwater for their quick and courteous service I give it a 10
Awesome Throne!
Very comfortable and sturdy throne, I am a big guy and this throne meets my needs.
Best throne I’ve had
This throne is so comfortable! And I love how fast I can make adjustments. I use a few different techniques when it comes to playing fast, tight double bass and depending on the technique, my throne height will really make a difference with how I execute that technique. So if I"m I"m the middle of playing and I"m getting tired from using my hip flexors a lot, I can just reach over and pull a knob and BAMB! My throne is a bit higher and it"s easier to use your hip flexors the higher you are. And when I"m about to use heel toe, I can just slide back down that few inches for that song or whatever. The options are almost endless.
Customer Service
Probably the best online purchase experience I've ever had. Thank you.
Best ever
Easy adjustment, perfect for long sessions. Way more comfortable than any other seat I ever had.
Super comfortable throne
I now own two Roc-n-Soc thrones (the first is not a nitro).
Although both are great, the nitro seems even more comfortable for long practice/playing time with noticeably less fatigue. Highly recommended!!
Happy Tush!
I couldn't be happier with my new Roc-N-Soc throne. I'm 6'4", 240 lbs and this bad boy absorbs shock like nobody's business. The seat is plenty wide enough to accommodate most any girth. Once you use it the price will be forgotten. GET ONE!
Fantastic
Easy to adjust and very comfortable to sit on.
Best Throne Ever
Just got my Roc-N-Soc Hydraulic Throne and must say it is the best Throne i ever had . I also brought a Back for it and between the two and in my opinion you will be able to play longer with no strain on your back. I would definitely recommend getting both and you,ll see what i mean .
Worth the money
The most comfortable throne, 6"-1" 200 lb male
Nice throne. Kind of expensive
Great throne. Comfortable. Works well. Can play for long periods without back issues.
Roc-N-Soc
Great throne. Very comfortable. As always quick shipping. Very happy with this purchase.
Great Throne
Roc-N-Soc
Most previous reviews cover how comfortable this throne feels. They are right. Only regret is not purchasing sooner...
Excellent
Nicely contoured and well padded. Very comfortable for long sessions.
Excellent Drum Throne
Very comfortable. Great value.
Your bottom and back will thank you.
I only wish all seating could be this comfortable. I do recommend the optional back rest - the combination is bliss.
Excellent Throne
I have four Roc-N-Soc thrones. Two in my travel set ups, one in my studio and one at rehearsal. The new one is in my local travel set up. The Hydraulic thrones are my favorite. I have one screw base throne too but I don't like the fact I must rotate the seat to spin it up and down. The Hydraulic is the way to go, one quick adjustment and your are ready to go. The thrown at my studio kit has one cracked rubber foot but it's seen seven years of use... you can easily order replacements. All the hardware is excellent and is road worthy. I have never had a problem (other then one worn foot). Highly recommended.
Best throne period.
The absolute best throne I've ever sat on. Go buy this throne you won't regret it. The only throne you should use
Nothing better!
I've owned this throne for about 2 months, and I couldn't be more happy with it! I have had some serious bad back issues in my past, and this is the best throne to keep your lower back pain to a minimum! I hope you seriously consider purchasing it, because there's really nothing out there that will feel better than this throne, for the price anyway!
Comfy Studio Chair
I'm not a drummer, but I recently set up a home studio and after looking at a variety of big, ugly office chairs realized that a quality drum throne would be a much better option. The seat is super cushy and comfortable to sit on for long periods while I tinker with mixes or tracking bass and guitar parts, and the gas lift makes adjustment quick and easy. The rubber feet are high quality and grip the (fake) wood floor well, preventing any shifting of the legs. The tripod is stable and well-made. Excellent product!
Roc-N-Soc throne
My first "expensive" drum throne. No complaints and always a quick delivery!
Comfy Sturdy Cool Drum Throne!
My drummer son wanted this for his 10th birthday as his drum teacher owned the exact model and my son just loved it! It's honestly everything it says under product description, what more is it looks so handsome in person.
Absolute Best
Hands down the best throne out there. On a serious note may I add that the backrest is the best fifty bucks you'll ever spend. You're investing in a throne that will last many, many years. Sit back and enjoy it.
Roc n soc drum throne
Great drum throne! My back and legs have never felt better after a gig, highly recommended!
I'm Rocking!
I got this throne to go with my Roland TD11 Drum kit and I couldn't be happier. Very comfortable and easy to adjust. My Sweetwater Sales Engineer, Karl Long, gave me great advice. Thanks!
No back pain
Norb recommended this throne and was right on again. Moves with you and hydraulic adjustment is a plus. 3 hour gigs are no problem. Added the backrest.
Amazing
very fast delivery, even for a fairly large item. It set up quickly and simply. I Immediately loved the feel and comfort the provided. I can play for hours sitting on this with ease.
DRUM THRONES
This is the best throne of them all. I've spent lots of money on drum thrones, and indeed this is the most comfortable one, for my back, butt, and legs. I love it, the name of a thing is the nature of it, so let's roc, and soc people! L.O.L.
AWESOME THRONE
If you are looking for fast setup and comfort you have found what you are looking for. This is the best bang for your buck with all the bells and whistles attached.
This is the best thome you can buy!
This roc n soc throne is extremely comfortable!
If you haven't invested in a comfortable throne then now is the time to do so.
I highly recommend this amazing throne along with the back rest for it!
Great Throne
Good comfort. Never had one this comfortable. Gas shock is very nice. Easy adjustments. Just great. The seat I wanted was out of stock. The salesman suggested this seat. Glad he did.
Best. Throne. Ever.
I bought one of these in the early '90s and had it for about 20 years. Finally sold it with a drum set of mine - reluctantly. It was the most durable, comfortable throne I have ever perched my posterior on. I aim to get another one ASAP and have it for at least another 20 years. Not only is it great for practice and gigs, but makes a great "spare chair" when a lot of company comes to visit. Many times we find ourselves debating who gets to sit in it because it is so comfortable. Definitely worth the investment if you will be spending a lot of time on your arse in the studio or on stage.
Great throne
Bought this for the studio. Very comfortable. Great build quality.
Essential!
This has been my ONLY drum throne since I purchased it in early 2003 (it is now September 2014). I have played hundreds of shows, practiced thousands of hours, and have been on many tours with this drum throne. When I am not playing drums, I use it for guitar and piano practice. Despite its age, my throne does not look like its 11 years old. This thing can take a serious beating! Also, it is still extremely comfortable to sit on. I plan on buying a second one soon!
One of the best
"A throne is a throne," you might say. You may not feel it after sitting down for 30 minutes, or even an hour. However, a seasoned musician that plays for 4-5 hours at a single performance will tell you that once you've played your first set or two on a hard, thin, and non-conforming material on a throne, your butt and back will start hurting, your posture will slack, and your playing will pay the price. DRUMMERS, INVEST IN A GOOD THRONE. I've had this throne for almost 3 years and its still in great condition, no issues with hardware, no fabric problems with the seat, no nothing. Great throne!!! If you don't like the bike seat shape, the only thing I would recommend that is this quality in a seat are the pork pie's for the same price.
You Pay More, But You Get More
The drummer in our band suggested we not go cheap and buy this drum throne. He's tried several, and this is the best quality for the money around. Drummers backs are strained without the right support (ask any OLD drummers). We purchased our drum set for folks to come by and jam with us, and wanted something that could accommodate anyone. With the adjustable seat any drummer can make it just right for them.
This is just what I needed. Works great decent price.
As soon as I tried it I knew it was perfect for my needs. Derek was very helpfull and called to make sure I was satisfied with it. Customer support and great products is why I keep coming back. Thanks again,Martin
