Sweetwater's got a great solution: Roland's NE-10 Noise Eater sound isolation board. Simply place the NE-10 under a pedal or pad. With its multiple dome-shaped rubber dampers, the NE-10 dramatically reduces the transfer of noise and vibration through the floor caused by your playing. Use it with Roland's optional NE-1 isolation foot for super-effective noise abatement. Get some NE-10s and keep the noise down. Your downstairs neighbors will be delighted.
Great product
Really useful for decoupling bass drum from floor. The difference this makes in sound traveling from drums to other rooms, added with sound absorption from hanging blankets/soundboard ect is enough to be able to play pretty much as loud and freely as you want without disturbing most people. Also shipping times are much faster with Sweetwater than Amazon with similar products for the same price.
Pretty good
I think these work pretty well, I can't hear the kick drums beater hitting the pads anymore as I switched to these a pair of triggers, and using this has cut down on acoustic noise quite a bit from my electronic kit. I feel they may have been a little overpriced for what you actually get, it's just a hard platform with hollow rubber feet to absorb vibrations, with carpeting on top. But they look sharp and professional on my kit.
Works okay but overpriced
Every time I stomp on my hi-hat pedal I could hear floor vibrations during play back. I bought this product to help reduce those deep bass sounds picked up in my overhead mics and kick drum mics. It definitely helped in that sense, but didn't completely eliminate the problem. On the other hand, I placed an NE-1 Noise Eater Isolation Foot under each of my hi-hat legs and that worked like a charm.
If they could make this a $50 product it would get 4 or 5 stars. But at $120... I can't give any more than that.
