This little gizmo works great for jamming through headphones. I use it to practice sometimes and not wake up the wife!

I'm using this with both my electric bass and strat and it is awesome! I'm using it with headphones so I can play loud as I need to and it won't bother anyone. I want to try it directly into my focusrite and see if I can record on my DAW. If you don't have a bass amp and are learning bass this is very helpful. The leds are very cool and the graphics and controls are well thought out. It helps with songwriting late at night.

The device function really well, howevet trying to select a tone using the colors is next to impossible. It would have been much better if Fender had selected a digital number read-out. It's even hard to determine which direction you're going in the list, up or down. If you try out the tones while scrolling, you can eventually get to the desired tone.

I highly recommend this product. For anyone at any level with a need for quiet practice this cannot be beat. Play all day long without disturbing the neighbors like I did without it. I wish I had this product at my last apartment because then I wouldn't have driven everyone absolutely insane. I was very impressed with all functions of this product. All day long I was happy with the orange amp setting and reverb. I was impressed with how close this got to the actual amps. So much fun playing along to music with the Bluetooth function. Wow. Good Job Fender!! Way to go!

Unfortunately, this doesn't work with Piezo pickups (tried a Traveler guitar and a Godin)

Right up front let me say that I never expected it to sound like a real box amp and emulate all the solid state in a pedal, but dang, it really does this really well. Remember that this is for practice with headphones, right? But... I also have this on my guitar with the cord plugged into a channel on my mixer. My mixer has a USB strip where it gets sound from the computer. The Mustang Micro Plus is connected to my phone by Bluetooth. My headset is connected to the mixer. Now I can practice playing guitar while listening to songs or lessons on my computer with a screen large enough to see, with a click track from Fender Tune on my phone, using and modifying presets on the Mustang and hear everything through my headset - including input from a play-along with friends on Zoom - and custom amp and pedal selections and settings. I love this thing. Buy it.

For price it's killer. Just overall it's killer. Right now I can not play through an amp this makes me happy

In theory, the Mustang Micro is a great idea and I used it almost every day for the last several months. Unfortunately, the on/off switch is a spring loaded slider and yesterday, the spring failed. So now, there is no way to power on and obviously, no way to use it.

This has been very helpful when you want to play without making a ton of noise!

This little thing is a pocket rocket. It is compact, convenient, fits in your guitar case, and comes with several decent amp emulations and effects. However, if you have a decent tube amp at home, do not think that this will match it in depth and tone, even if you have a decent set of headphones. I use a set of Sennheiser HD560s, which is a good, mid-tier pair of headphones, and it is still missing something. I just keep this in my case so I can take my guitar to work and play, quietly on my down-time. For what it is, it is good, and does what it is meant to do pretty well. Just don't buy this thing with the expectation of being blown away by the sound or effects, because you may be disappointed.

I bought this for my son. It has many selections as far as amp sounds and signal processing and the construction quality is first rate. My son is rocking out and having the time of his life

This nifty little device is awesome for those times that you want to practice a little quieter and don't want to whip out your physical amp or plug in to a computer. It's great if you want to walk between rooms—you can go anywhere and take this little guy with you!

I purchased this after so many technical issues with the Boss Waza Air. Ay a quarter of the price it does what I need it to. Practice in the living room without disturbing the family.
Where this lacks is the patches are okay. pretty flat and uninspiring compared to the Boss.
My final verdict, it's okay. It is worth the money, a little uninspiring but an appropriate price point for what you get.

Great for practice, especially with bluetooth connect to smartphone. I'm using the Mustang Micro to work up arrangements, solos, etc. With all the amp and effects settings, it also works direct into mixer with 1/8 to 1/4 jack adapter. Volume, amp and effects controls are easier to access with strat output position than tele, but overall well designed and workable.

After consulting with my Sweetwater sales agent, Aaron, I decided to order the Fender Mustang Micro. I'm glad I did. It's easy to use and it allows me to play my guitar (purchased from Sweetwater) at any time without disturbing anyone around me. Thanks, Aaron!

This is working very well for my lap steel guitars. I no longer both my wife with my poor playing as I learn a tune. I use a clean amp with reverb. The other effects do not compare to my pedals, but heh, for the price, this is great for practicing.

I have only scratched the surface of this things capabilities.

The clean amp sounds for jazz guitar (with appropriate built-in effects) are amazing and you can easily get at the 3 band EQ, etc., to tweak for your own guitar.

Playing along with jam tracks via blue tooth is a snap.

And it has a great built in tuner.

I hope they come up with a replacement for this device ASAP.

I play mostly at home and at odd hours. This keeps me from waking up the family. Switching tones and effects is a little awkward but I'm getting used to it. Haven't used the USB-C connectivity yet to a DAW but knowing it's there is reassuring as far as replicating what I'm hearing in the headphones on tracks.

Haven't messed with it much but it sure is nice to hear myself without disturbing my wife and having more equipment sitting around.

I went looking for something that offered more amps and effects than my Vox AC headphone amp, especially BlueTooth connectivity. I checked some online reviews and they all said pretty much the same thing that I'm going to say, which is that, this little amp rocks!

I use it with Fender Play and TrueFire, running through my AKG 702 headphones, which offers great responsiveness to the amps capabilities.

This is where the BlueTooth connectivity comes into play, making it easy for me to dial up a practice site and have it and my guitar in my headphones at the same time.

I also love the freedom of being able to take it with just about anywhere I go, and dial up a sound that fits with the music than I'm working on.

At $, you won't be disappointed, but you definitely WILL be impressed!

I have been a Fender fan & customer for years, having owned a Hot Rod Deluxe, 2 different Mustang amps, and my made in America Stratocaster, and I have loved them all, until now.

I understand this isn't capable of being one of those amps, but it lacks true diversity and flexibility of sound and has no accessible software online. My vision is not the best, and I use reading glasses for print, but this has no display on it to tell you what setting you're on. You have to memorize a color scheme to tell what amp & effect settings you're on. Or you can hold the card up any time you want to adjust your sound and hope to match the color card to the device. Tedious

Admittedly, part of my disappointment is because I had planned on getting a Boss Katana Go, which has all of the things that this one doesn't, only to be literally a week late after supply problems prompted Boss to stop making them. I considered waiting until Boss remedied the problem, but allowed myself to get impatient and this what you get when you make impatient purchases.

Don't get me wrong, this device does work, and maybe for someone who is young and looking for a way to practice and record with an amp sound better than Walmart or similar it would be ideal. For me, however, it will be what I use probably on one tone until a better option comes out.

I looked at all comparable devices and determined the Fender Mustang Micro was clearly the best available option. It charges quickly, fires right up, has a good Fender tone, and gives you the ability to play anywhere. I have not tried the interface for use with my DAW, but i would recommend getting a longer USB cable before you try that.

I was expecting to like only a few amp models, but I ended up liking all of the amp models. Some more than others, but still, there is a lot to work with here for me. I really enjoy the spring reverb and vintage trem & reverb effects, and all of the other effects are decent as well.

I've primarily used the MM with my four SSS Strats, which have varying degrees of pickup sets from vintage to growling. I've also enjoyed the MM's tones when playing my Super Strat, which is a HH with alnico pickups and coil splitting.

However, I find the Micro Mustang casing to be wanting; it's not very robust.

I like the Micro Mustang a lot at the sale price I bought it, full price, not so much.

I thought about a DI pedal, and I have an iRig, but this is just fine! I like that there is nothing connected to (read: tugging at) my phone. Very lightweight and sounds fine. I haven't used the interface functionality and I am easy to please with the stock sounds, so I have not delved into editing. This is nicely portable and the sound options would seem to be adequate for most anyone.

Best practice amp ever! I join with other reviewers - great way to have 12 + amps in your pocket with many effects for that late night while everyone else is asleep! Great purchase and Matthew at Sweetwater is excellent taking care of an old guitarists "wants"! Great experience every purchase!

I debated buying the Mustang micro for over a year. I am not a fan of solid state amps and their generic sound. What finally convinced me to buy was being able to practice without disturbing my wife and our pets and to take a chance that the amp simulation would be good enough. I was blown away by the sound reproduction of the Fender tone. The fender 65 deluxe sound is spot on. I stream songs and I can put myself right into the mix as if I am in the band. I am a big fan of the Fender brand. I play a Strat with custom pickups through a Fender Super Champ X2. I Also have a Rickenbacker 360 and a Marshall DSL 40. Messing around with the different amp simulations has led me to tweak my live sound to emulate some of the sounds out of the Mustang Micro. The only reason I did not give this a 5th star is that I think this could use a small LED or LCD screen to easier determine what the settings are. If you would like to know, I have been playing for 42 years and am very excited about how much I have learned in the 3 weeks I have been playing with this tool.

I am a relative newby and believe me, you do not want to hear me practice...

The Fender headphone amp works great. It seems to hold a charge for a long time. If you keep the volume not too high, there is no distortion.

And as always, Sweetwater and Pablo got it to me ASAP.

I now buy my music stuff on Sweetwater only!

When I first received it the little Fender Micro by far exceeded my expectations. I'd give it a 5 star for sure except for one thing. Although I had the unit for about 2 years I rarely used it. 10 times at the most. I dug it out of my closet just recently. The on-off switch for some reason didn't work.

It comes in handy when I need it. But I'm hesitant to fork out another $ to purchase another one. Other than that. 5 stars.

Outstanding product to play anywhere. Unreal selection of amp settings. Wow I was amazed.

Love this thing for travel - both on the road and by air. Especially nice for international flights or small planes where weight and size are a big limiting factor. I take this, a pair of shure earphones, and sometimes an extender (this fits well in fender/gibson/prs style jacks, but for strandberg I've found a small ts extender is very helpful).

It syncs to your phone's bluetooth so you can play backing tracks while practicing. I use a little app on my phone AB Music Trainer to play the tracks (but even playing something from your mp3 player will work fine).

The sounds are amazing. Interface is easy to use - amp up/down, effects up/down, then 2 up/down controls for amp EQ and effects level - but the feedback is a bit opaque (each setting has a light which has a different color - there's a card to tell the difference but it's hard to match up those colors exactly). I just click around until I find an amp I like and then play with effects the same way. It'll do a surprisingly wide range of tones - amps of all kinds (clean->crunch->rock->all the way to what sounds metal to me) and the effects are high quality. Some effects are multi-effects (reverb+chorus, delay+chorus, etc.). It's easy to find something that'll be close to the song you're working on or get inspired by an interesting amp+effects combo.

I find I can dial in a tone I like pretty easily, then jam on that and forget that time exists. Awesome practice tool. I sometimes use it at home, too, when I need to practice in quiet and don't want to set up my bigger rig.

I bought this so I could keep my chops up on a cruise that the wife talked me into. Worked just fine. The sounds are good enough for practice and would be ok in a pinch at a gig if your regular rig failed. If ... your needs are simple, like mine. I didn't bother with the amps and effects stuff, just found a clean and a dirty, paired my phone and ran mp3s to it. Then sat out in the sun watching the ocean, sipping drinks and playing guitar, and not bothering anybody. Perfect. It did cause me to get sunburned though.

Looking for ways to improve practice and having it sound better no matter where I am. This tool does it. Sounds great and is easy to use. I appreciate not needing an amp, but still getting incredible quality sounds. Thanks

Wow sounds amazing!!!been playing hard rock and metal since '78 and wish we had this back when I was a kid.have no complaints whatsoever with this.im a meat and potatoes plug in and play guy and don't need thirty presets or want to use an app while playing to do everything and to tweak and retweak amps models,pedals effects and eq's (boss katana go,NUX mighty plug pro)my only complaint would be the absence of a tuner(boss katana go) or a built in drum machine(flamma and NUX) but you can't have everything right.this is a awesome product and you will definitely not be disappointed and well worth the price tag.

I bought this to use with a Traveler Guitar that I use for practicing when I don't want to bother anyone. But, the Mustang Micro does not work with the passive piezo pickup in that guitar. I have an older Vox headphone amp that does work, so all is not lost, and the Mustang Micro works with my G&L/Strat. It would have been nice to know this little quirk before I bought it. There may be something in the product description about this, but I didn't see it.

Man, I wish I could give it more stars because I love it, and while it worked it was awesome. The first one lasted 6 months, and the spring loaded on/off/Bluetooth switch broke. No problem thanks to Sweetwater's one year guarantee. They replaced it with a new one. Unfortunately 2 1/2 years later, the same thing happened. I would think it should last longer than that. So unless Fender has fixed what is obviously a flaw, I'll be looking for something else. So again, Sweetwater was great, but be forewarned, your takin a chance if you buy the Mustang micro.

This little thing provides some really great tones and is super easy to use. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but for about $, it's pretty amazing!

I had bought a cheaper one a few years ago because thats all I could find and it was terrible. When i saw this mustang micro i had to try it and its worth every cent!!

I bought this to go with a Traveler Guitar, which has piezo pickups. It doesn't work with low-impedance pickups at all. For awhile, Fender kept saying they would release a firmware update that fixes it, but that was an outright lie, and after 2 years, they've still done nothing. I'm not surprised, just disappointed.

I fly all over the country. If the Micro doesn't work with my Traveler, I don't need it. If I'm plugging into a full-sized guitar, I'm already in a setting to use a full-sized amp.

I have not used it yet. But based on my old one. This is a good unit. If it lasts like my old one. This hasn`t been out of the box yet.

I purchased the 1st one about 2.5 years ago and have used it pretty much everyday for practice with closed back headphones. The input jack stopped working properly about a month ago (Maybe I unplugged / plugged in headphones too many times???).
Other than my compliant about the quality of the input jack, there is a lot to like about the Mustang Micro, which is the reason I purchased a replacement. Here is my list of likes.
1. The clean tones are very good and you can hear the lower tones pretty well (at least through my headphones). The 3 Fender amp models sound great!
2. The reverb, chorus, flanger and tremelo effects are very good and believable.
3. The Bluetooth feature is a real plus and I use it to jam over backing tracks on my computer (usually at 6:30AM - when everone else in my house is sleeping - you get the picture)

Overall, this amp is good value for the $ and I certainly got my money's worth out of the 1st one.

With that said, maybe in some future iteration, I would like to be able to modify the delay time (now you can modify the only the delay level) and modify the level of Overdrive / Gain

What a Great micro amp! What a surprise to hear the many tones and brilliance this little dynamo puts out. Easy to use, quick to recharge and fits in my headphone case with ease. Simply put, "I continue to be a Fender Fan"! Oh and Logan, my Sales Engineer and All the folks at Sweetwater are the Best.

The title says it all. It worked well before the switch broke.

I selected the Fender Mustang Micro after doing a bit of research. I'd had a mini headphone amp before (a Vox) and it was better than nothing, but really quite disappointing in terms of sound quality. The Fender Micro, by contrast, really delivers. Not only that, but it comes with a rich array of settings including amps and effects.

As an intermediate player, this is the best piece of guitar equipment that I've bought so far.

The distorted sounds are shrill and artificial sounding, it feels cheap and flimsy, and the battery life is dreadful. A waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

With the Fender Mustang Micro's wide array of sound capabilities, I am able to find my ideal sound. With adjustments to amp, EQ, effects & modify, the possibilities seem nearly endless. Best of all, no one knows I'm playing. Great purchase!

Perfect for practicing with headphones. I'm currently using it with a bass guitar and works very good. I only wish Fender made a Rumble version of this amp with dedicated bass effects and amps.

I got this amp for practicing along with musical pit practice and have found it such an unbeatable tool with its ability to connect to my phone via bluetooth. Being able to practice the same song over and over again without driving my family bonkers has been invaluable.

I am in love with this thing. Not only is it a great little amp, I no longer have to worry about the wife throwing sharp objects at me, or listening to the dog howl while I practice. There are a lot of settings in this little thing that can get you a lot of different tones for almost any situation. Battery life is great as well. If I was forced to find something to complain about I would say the little card that comes with it for the settings could be a little larger, but if you dont have old man eyes like me you will not have a problem with that either.

You need this if sound is an issue in any way.

Doesn't sound as good as the vox classic rock or metal.great for clean or low gain amps.bluetooth is a plus but why not go the extra mile and make it so we can use wireless headphones?and for the life of me can't understand why they wouldn't include the marshall jcm 800 amp,which is probably the most used amp sim on the full size fender mustang amp?was a letdown and will stick with my vox classic rock.

I was needing to use headphones while I played guitar. I tried over the ear & on the ear phones but still had cords to deal with. Waza headphones were an expensive option but I decided to try the fender micro. Boom! They are amazing. I have to use supplemental oxygen so I had that hose to deal with along with headphone & amp cords. The Micro eliminated my obstructions and absolutely sound amazing! Thanks Tyler Moore, you have always been a great advisor for me.

It fits nicely on my Strat. The lights are a pain to see, but when you get used to what color is for what amp or effect, it becomes easier. The clean sounds, especially the Twin, and hall and spring reverbs are very good. The higher gain are good or fair to good, but I seldom use them. You have to be careful with the Brit or higher gain sounds because the volume levels increase. This amp was well designed not to overload and damage your hearing on the clean settings, but be careful not to max it out on the other settings. They could have included a manual rather than forcing the buyer to go online and download one. Bottom line, for the money, it's a great way to practice without driving your partner out of the room. In spite of its shortcomings, it really is quite remarkable for what it DOES do well. Another thing I like is the absence of noise or hiss. If you travel a lot and spend late nights in hotel rooms, or share a living or dorm space with others, this tiny object is just what the doctor (audiologist) ordered.

It's the best one I've tried so far. It beats the Vox ones that kept breaking on me, and works better, too. The Pocket Rockets were okay back in the day, but the current ones suck, IMHO. Also, it's amazingly small and convenient to use.

The mini amp works great once you get the hang of it - but you NEED wired headphones to use it. I was under the impression from the "bluetooth capabilities" that I would be able to hook up my AirPod max headphones - that was not the case. I still enjoy the convenience of traveling without a full amp and still being able to practice.

If you have trouble concentrating on practicing or writing music because you're constantly distracted by the massive variety of options presented by your equipment, the Mustang Micro could be the practice rig for you. It provides just enough flexibility that most players will quickly be able to find a sound that works for what they're playing, but not so much flexibility that that they'll spend hours dialing it in to sound better or just noodle with presets and parameters. This is an amp that's all about having fewer options, in a way that might just get you to quit goofing around with the gear and play. (And sometimes that's exactly what I need.) It sounds pretty good, actually, but it doesn't do a whole lot, and I think that's to the product's strength.

Here's what you don't get:
1.) You don't get a cool app with a pretty interface for your computer or mobile device. You can stream Bluetooth audio to it on a jam-along basis, you can connect it as an interface for recording, you can charge it, or you can update the firmware over USB C. Unless I'm missing something, that's the extent of its flexibility.
2.) You don't get dozens of amp models, stomp boxes, effects, cabinets, mics, etc. You're not going to be adjusting the bias on your virtual Plexi here, the hardness of the studio walls, or trying a new digital model of your favorite output transformer.
3.) You don't get a gain control. Well, you do, but you might be disappointed to learn that it's already on your guitar and that it's labeled "VOLUME". I'll get to that.
4.) You don't get a comprehensive interface that tells you what's going on. I'll get to that, and you'll probably wish that I hadn't.

The true utility of the Mustang Micro is in its simplicity, which I guess you could see as a euphemism for a lack of options. It has a nominal twelve (12) amp models onboard, but one of these is a completely dry DI input with no coloration, which the manual says is for recording bass or acoustic instruments. I suppose you might also want to try this if you use software amp modeling with your DAW. I'm not a home recordist myself, so I won't try to judge that utility, but I will mention that the DI patch does sound exceedingly dry and lifeless on my solid-body electric guitars with magnetic pickups, going into headphones. If you want a good clean amp model, there are actual amp models built into the Micro that you'll almost certainly like better. Remember that a good clean guitar amp is actually anything but uncolored.

Aside from the dry DI, you get eleven models of well-known amps. Some are Fenders, of course, and the rest are usuals that get represented a lot by popular modeling products. These are not fully functioning models but more like presets with the gain and basic sound dialed in. Each model is one snapshot of an amp set a certain way, and it either suits what you're playing at the moment, or it doesn't. You can switch your pickup, your guitar, adjust its volume and tone knobs, and you can finesse your playing dynamics, but the amp model is what it is. You get an EQ with 5 presets, and the master volume knob on the Micro (which appears to be analog, which to me is a must on a headphone amp). If you're going to enjoy this amp, find a setting that works and use it until you have a good reason to change it.

There are twelve effects presets. Again, these aren't going to replace your favorite modulation or delay pedal, or even your least favorite, for that matter. You select one of the effects presets, and you get a six-position control that lets you adjust the intensity of the effect. The idea, once again, is to get you something usable with as little fussing around as possible.

Most of the fussing around is likely to come from stepping round-robin style through the different settings and trying to remember what they are. You press a -/+ pair of buttons to do this, and the Micro changes the color of a corresponding LED to let you know which setting it's on. For the amp model, that's twelve colors. Same for the effects preset. Some of the colors are similar enough that you might learn the names of some colors that are new to you. You'll probably either learn to recognize the color of the preset you like, memorize all of them, keep the cheat sheet handy, or gift the Micro to a niece or nephew. The EQ and effect intensity have five and six settings, respectively, so that's a bit more manageable.

I bought the Micro because I was bored, and also because I'm a low-grade Fender nut. I had no specific expectations or actual needs when I bought it. I just felt like checking it out, so it was impossible for me to be disappointed. Some players will try one of these and discover that they prefer a simpler tiny headphone amp than this. Others might see what the Boss Pocket GT can do and realize that it makes the Mustang Micro look like a joke, and not a particularly funny one. I have both, and I love them for what they are. Don't get angry with the Mustang Micro; it's trying its best. And you know what? It sounds good!

I looked at the Boss Waza but wasn't wanting to spend all that cash. When Jeff recommended these I first couldn't believe the price difference. And the sound? Just like one of the 12 Fender amps of modeling on board. I'm just a beginner, but this was an answer to a prayer. Only con is you can only plug one set of headphones in at a time (fault of all headphone amps). Requires additional splitter for others to hear the groovy sounds and you will want others to hear how cool you sound. Another first for Fender.

I LOVE this headphone Amp. It is such a convenient option for practicing or just playing for enjoyment in places where it is inconvenient to take an amp. Doesn't need a power source. Take it to a peacefull place in the woods or on a hilltop during sun rise or sunset. The options are endless. The variety of settings are great too. It is more than loud enough and the quality of sound is good. Just get a good set of headphones. Play clean, metal, industrial....whatever. I wish this had existed when I was first learning to play in the barracks while in the military. Very glad I bought this product.

I wasted time wondering if the MM was worth the hype, as impressive sound-wise as advertised, and high enough build quality. It's all of these things. The amp modeling and effects are more than enough to keep you interested, and if not, it takes pedals! Well! Do a quick YouTube search of the Andertons boys putting the MM through its paces. My only advice is have some decent headphones to make it worth your while (and comfortable). I wish I had bought it earlier is my main gripe. The Bluetooth capability pairing with a phone/spotify makes play-along extremely engaging. I don't know how else to say it - get one!

The is a sweet little device that is so much fun. I have a big back deck away from my gig room. I grab my axe and my Fender Mustang Micro Headphone amp. Walk out on my porch and enjoy a sunshine filled jam session. So cool. John T. Foley Bass Player.

I love in a house with others and this little amp is perfect for when I want to practice early in the morning or late at night. Sounds really great if even you don't have the best headphones - it even sounds good with basic earbuds!

Here's why: (1) very clear, undistorted picture of your basses true sound (2) It's like a studio in the sense that you hear every good or bad thing you are doing (3) with work from home, etc, great for non-disturbing the natives in your home (4) bluetooth in is genius - not many good ones have it. Makes me want to practice all day!!

I preface this review with a disclaimer: I don't have much experience with amps. I grew up playing on a solid state marshall half stack, which I thought sounded just dandy. I don't have any performance experience, except for my high school band. I've never tried a tube amp, and I certainly don't consider myself a tone snob. Take all this into account when judging my review. About 10 years of experience as a casual player.

I moved with my wife a few years ago, and we just didn't have room to bring my actual amp, and being in an apartment I also felt having a loud amplifier would not be nice for the neighbors. I had fun with my acoustic, but I decided to buy this product so I could start having fun with my electric again.

Tones: The amp selections (while I can't say whether or not they sound authentic) are wonderful, and I find myself using most of the amp options available. There are only a few that I don't really vibe with. I can get real high gain stuff I love, good crunchy mid-focused tones, and some smooth edge of breakup cleaner tones. I love that the sound cleans up as I turn the volume knobs down on my guitar, which gives me more options to get exactly what I'm looking for.
Only downside--They feel kind of lifeless and stale without reverb or modulation, but for all I know that's how all real amps are as well.

Effects: Reverbs sound great, and this is the part of the mustang micro that fools my brain into thinking I'm in a room with an amp filling it up with sound. Like I mentioned above, without the effects I just really don't vibe with the tones, but again, that's not really an issue since no normal person plays without a bit of 'verb.

Functionality--SO FUN AND USEFUL. Just plug and play, I don't have to be self conscious or worried about being too loud! I have owned this for a few months now and I jam to backing tracks ALL THE TIME.

I have never practiced more in my life, and it's all because of this little gadget! I really want a real amp once my wife and I buy a home, but I'll always find uses for this little fella. I'm looking into a Katana Artist or a Bugera (finally see what a tube amp sounds like), not as a replacement, but so I can feel like a rock star jamming out in my music room. And who knows? Maybe I'll join an band or something.

Use it for my Strat and j-Bass. I can practice anywhere now without lugging a big amp or playing unplugged. Sounds good too. The effects are better than I expected! The fact that it can be used to record is a huge bonus. Sweetwater's customer service is awesome.

The mustang micro amp is an amazing little device. This is the second one I have purchased with the first being a gift. I am currently using it play guitar during my breaks from work so as to not disturb others in the house. If I had purchased this earlier I probably would not have purchase the Fender Princeton amp for my office but glad I have both.

A practice item you can't do without. Take it out in the backyard and rock on and no one will even know! The amp characteristics and effects are amazing for such a small uncomplicated device. Hats off to Fender for coming up with this item

The Micro Amp is GREAT when you don't want to connect a regular amp for rehearsal or just having FUN!!! So many sounds and various combinations. Well worth the investment!!! Kudos to Sweetwater & Logan!!!

Purchased this product from sweet water. It is a great product with design flaws. Fist it is versatile and sounds great for what it is. The Bluetooth function works like a charm. I get up early in the morning to get in some practice before my work day begins. With this amp I am able to do that without waking the rest of the house up. Just what I need! Would love to give it 5 stars but now the problem. Within 6 months or so the 3.5 mm headphone plug began to intermittently lose contact. Just got worse until it barely worked at all. A 3.5 mm jack is not made to take the stress that are applied here just due to simple movement and plug and unplug. Sweet water immediately replaced my unit which was great, however, warrenty remains from original date of purchase and since the design is unchanged I fully expect this unit to last another 5-7 months then when it fails it just goes in the trash. Sad. This unit would have 5 stars if it only had a more durable (1/4 inch) jack.

I'm very impressed by this little beauty. A lot of tone and options, also sounds great.
Best part is I don't have to bother the family when I feel like jamming and can stay in my favorite seat.

I'm not sure how or where all the glowing reviews of the sound quality come from. All I have is a Fender Mustang LT25, and it buries this unit in sound quality. For portable practice, obviously this unit is great. I don't find the variety of amps and effects all that impressive. It's decent to use in clean mode. I would only recommend buying this for the size or portability or if you're taking online lessons like Fender Play. Then the Bluetooth mode will be huge. For sound quality and variety, there are better options, particularly when an LT25 is only a few $$ more.

It's plug it in and play within seconds. I used it on both my acoustic and electric. It adds depth to your sound like you have just found your favorite nook in your house for sound. Plus, on my electric I can play anytime I like without waking up everyone.

It has more options than I need but I am sure it would give those wanting to dial in specific sounds for their different music.

It took about five minutes to unwrap the box, quick charge and I was happily playing.

It has color codes for different settings but I am red green color blind which means I have to guess at times what color I am looking at. However, the sound was concert hall like.

I use my studio headphones which I prefer.

I would say I have added five hours of playing time.

I've wanted one of these for some time, and when the special price was available before Christmas 2022 I jumped on it. I have not been disappointed, as it was easy to do what little installation and set-up was required, and it sounds really nice. There are just enough different amps & effects to have some fun with, and the Bluetooth connection set-up was remarkably simple. I am using the Micro primarily for practicing exercises and scales, and improvising over backing tracks stored on the I-Phone. Also, there is a very good manual on Fender's website for those who want to know more. I highly recommend this item (because it is hard to go wrong with Fender!) and also am always grateful for the fast, friendly and dependable service from Sweetwater and my sales engineer, Jacob Terhune.

I got one for Christmas and this little guy is solid. With the Bluetooth, you can connect to your phone so you can jam to your favorite songs. Also love all the different effects and amps you get with it. Whether you are a beginner or pro, I don't think you'll be disappointed with this purchase.

The most difficult thing about playing at home is playing at an acceptable volume. Just when I get that tone and sustain that I was looking for.....it's too loud. Now I have all the tone, sustain and volume I could ever need. The amp selections are fantastic. Each amp setting has its own distinct sound and I can add all the effects I want to that sound. With my headphones on, I feel like I'm standing in a huge auditorium and my guitar is filling it with sound. Sometimes I catch myself laughing with joy at the end of some jamming. It sound that good to me. The best Christmas present I could have ever gotten for my wife, neighbors and dog. I've only had it about a month and I'm still finding new sounds. One of the best $99.99 investments I've ever made.

Worked great for about 20 months and then suddenly developed an issue where the audio was very bright and sounded like a tin can. The Bluetooth audio was really helpful. No longer tethered to an iPad by a 1/8" cable was nice.

Overall it's a huge bummer, really. Fender has the best set of features on the market on a compact headphone amp. This blows the Vox headphone amps out of the water. Doesn't help if the audio ends up being an issue, though.

A really great device that allows you to play quietly while accessing a more than decent set of tone options. Pretty straight forward to use, and although it has a god number of combinations of amp sounds and effects, it is not too overwhelming and it doesn't get in the way of plugging in and playing

Here's the deal. Digital amp modeling has come a long way but there's only so much you can do with a small box. The clean settings and maybe the lightest distortion one are the only sounds this thing makes that are even pleasant to the ears. Everything else is gimmicky effects and you'll hear your pick more than the strings vibrating there's so much gain. But the clean tones are very nice and fender clean amp-like.

That said, it otherwise works as intended. I haven't done the Bluetooth thing, just plugged and played with headphones. It's a fantastic amp to play when you don't want to bother anyone, or if traveling, say in a hotel. The amp and an average set of headphones fit into most Fender cases. For that it's worth the price. Otherwise it's maybe 20% good features wise.

I was looking for a practice amp for bass and guitar. This seemed too good to be true but then it arrived. I cannot believe the sound and number of effects on the Mustang Micro. It sounds great on my U-Bass as well. I am extremely pleased with the amp and I'll be telling everyone I know about it.

This little amp is seriously great. I love the different amp models and the effects; it's really easy to cycle through the settings to find a sound I like, and they all sound incredible, even through the garbage earbuds that I'm using. I can't wait til my wife goes to bed tonight, I'm gonna stay up late drinking scotch and rocking out with my strat and my fender mustang micro!

Unbelievable ease of use

I bought this for my husband (who seems to want to learn to play and practice, but not anywhere I can hear him using an amp) for Christmas. I have to admit, I plugged it into my guitar and gave it a try before I wrapped it up. I just selected an amp and effect at random and was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounds. It's a great gift for a beginner guitar player, or even anyone who wants to be quiet or take a guitar on travel without lugging an amp around. I liked it so much, I picked up one for my brother as well.

I paired the Mustang Micro with my Macbook using bluetooth. Then played backing tracks from my mac through that connection, mixed with my guitar from the Mustang Micro into my DT770 headphones. I typically play through emulated amps through plugins for my apollo solo audio interface, and 5" monitors. I was really impressed with the warmth and depth of what I heard from this combo, and it's made for a nice new possibility for my practice. I've flipped through amp library and effects--also impressive, both in design, interface (colored lights that align you to amps via a tidy legend). Sliding spectrum from very clean to very dirty over 12 steps. Similar classic effects.

I can't believe the quality of the sound that comes from this compact device. When I wake up at night I like to play a little and it helps me to go back to sleep. I can now play the headphone amp as loud as I want and never disturb anyone else. The sound quality and choices of Amps, effects and possible modifications allow the user to achieve the perfect sound for any song or guitar. I love the way it sounds on either my Martin acoustic or my Fender Telecaster. I think this was an outstanding value for what you get. Absolutely love it !!!

I bought this so I could practice late at night when things are quiet but I find myself using it at all hours because it's so handy and works so well. It's marketed toward guitarists but my sales engineer said it'd be good for bass as well -- and he was right. I don't use most of the effects (I keep it simple) and for my purposes, it delivers. And unlike with some other sound equipment, the bluetooth function on this little guy is solid. Never a dropped connection, so pair it with your mobile device, play your tunes, connect a set of headphones, and jam away!

I had been wanting a way to practice with headphones, and when this little guy came out I added it to my list. Well, I didn't realize how awesome it really is. The built in sounds and effects cover enough of the spectrum to practice electric guitar, and the DI mode is good for bass. And the Bluetooth is great for rehearsing! But I didn't know when I bought it just how useful the DI mode would be combined with the USB audio out. I used it to record my acoustic, bass, electric guitar pedal board, and keyboard all by running this into garageband!

Bought this to let me practice with my travel guitar when I'm not at home. So easy just to plug it in (very small, light, swivels to fit your guitar jack's orientation) and start a practice session. The built-in usb-rechargeable battery makes it environmentally friendly and also easy to manage - just recharge it after playing for 2-3 hours and you'll be fine.

The buttons on the side use little colored lights. I kind of wish they'd used numbers, but you get used to it. One button changes the amp (tons of variety - and while you can't dial in a lot, the second button lets you pick a kind of eq level for each amp). Some of the amps have a tube driver or distortion in front of them, so you can go from clean, clean-snappy, warm OD ... all the way up to hard rock. I doubt it would make metal fans happy but there's a fairly distorted amp config that might work on a really hot set of HB pickups. I play jazz, classic rock, pop, etc. and really like the variety of sounds.

Then there's the effects button and "effects level" - you've got reverbs, delays, chorus, flanger, a uni-vibe-ish sound, tremolo and some combinations. These all sound great, too.

These controls let you approximate most sounds you might want, even something like Edge's echoey sounds or Lifeson's/Summers'/Howe's effect-combo sounds (crunch/distortion + reverb + chorus ... etc.).

There's even a DI setting for those of you who do mobile recording, though I just use my regular audio interface when I'm at home.

I don't know how Fender did it - this is truly a marvel of engineering and makes practice so much easier than anything I've ever used before.

100% worth the price over a Vox hiss factory. Bass sounds fantastic out of almost every amp model and the build-in effects are fun. I underestimated how much I love a little reverb in my ears if I'm not playing with other instruments.

I bought this so I can practice on my electric guitar without disturbing others. With a decent pair of headphones my practice time is much more enjoyable because I get good guitar tones out of a tiny device I can take anywhere. We'll worth the money.

Makes practicing a cinch for me. I have my amps in my bedroom. I can use headphones when I practice so as not to bother my wife but I have headphone cord and cables to contend with. And even then my wife can hear the string which can be annoying if she is watching TV. Now I don't have to drag amps back and forth to the living room. Now just grap this, my headphones, and my axe and go!! This things sounds good. I love the amp choices and effect choices. Makes silent practice easy and fun. Only thing is you have to print out the manual or have on your phone or computer to remember what each amp or effect is since a light is what designated the amp or effect. I would definetly recommend this especially if you need a quick way to practice or something to take to work or on a trip.

It sounds great! It's easy to install. Now, I can take my Stratocaster with me without having to take too much gear. I'm a beginner so I don't sound very good. The micro amp makes playing easier.

Here is my solution to the fact my Squier Custom Stratocaster output jack has a problem with the amp plug. It's not that the plug can't go in far enough, it's because the plug goes in too far. I used a cork washer to lift the amp slightly out of the jack and the connection is perfect.

So many online reviews glorifying this headphone amp. I'd agree if they added, for a headphone amp. Not the most amazing sound ever - but it is a very enjoyable practice tool.

My one piece of advice, use the full range of your guitar's volume knob. Input signal strength profoundly affects the sound.

I got this today and tried to use it on all my guitars - I have seven. Six worked with the amp and it sounds great. The one that failed was my Squier Custom Stratocaster due the the 1/4" output jack. I assume the Amp plug can't go in far enough to make contact - no sound from the guitar. I plug into my Blackstar or Fender GTX and the Squier sounds beautiful. I know this is a guitar hardware issue, but 4 1/2 stars because Squier is a Fender company and you'd think it would be compatible.

I bought this from Sweetwater during a sale but after trying it, I would say it would be well worth paying the full price. This little thing is amazing. Gives me more amp and effect options than I will ever need and it is easy to use. Highly recommended!

First off I just wanna say I never write reviews. Im going to keep this short. Compared to all other devices like this one, none of them have blue tooth. So listening to a backing track from my cell phone and playing this thing with my headphones on ( wired ) is a dream. The sounds are really good depending on your style or sound. I swear I never go anywhere without this thing. Sitting in the park on a Sunday morning jamming away to some blues is very very relaxing. Had it for a year now and still going strong. You will not regret buying this thing, best practicing guitar device on the market, hands down.

Great sounds out of a micro headphone amp.it has better tone than some of my other amps. It's easy to dial in the tones and effects I want.I definitely would buy it again. It has studio quality sound even though my ear buds.

I use to have a "Soloist" by Tom Schulz of Boston. I used it quite a bit. But as all things do this one finally bit the dust. So I needed a persoanl headphone amp. I did some research and found the Micro Headphone Amp by Fender. I decided to purchase it as it had good reviews. What a sound. Paired with a set of Bose headphones it is amazing. And the the different settings and the multiple effects that it has it's like unbelievable. It puts you in your own world. I use multiple guitars. A Les Paul, PRS, Strat and a Steinberger. If you love to play and don't want to wake up the neighbors or bother your family pick one up. You won't regret it.

I was looking for exactly this type of gear for playing my telecaster around the house. I didn't need to plug into an amp to practice repetitive pieces but still wanted to hear all the dynamics the guitar was producing. The Mustang Micro delivered perfectly. I can sit in the family room at night while everyone is watching television and play until I can't play anymore - and it sounds incredible. A real plus is being able to stream backing tracks into the amp to play along with whatever you need to practice. And the best part is no one will hear you even if you turn it up to 11. I use my Apple earbuds that came with my iPhone 7 and they work perfectly. There really couldn't be a better product from Fender in my opinion. I received a call from the Sweetwater sales person after I ordered the Micro and he pretty much summed it up as the best product you didn't know you needed. Just buy one!

I was a bit hesitant to buy this product when I was looking for a portable way to play or practice. BUT I was pleasantly surprise at not just the easy of plug and play but the tones and amps offered with the ability to change the effects and EQ of each like a real amp. I am thrilled by the option to also plug in the Mustang Micro into my computer and lay down a track with the amp and effect settings. I fully enjoy the bluetooth option to add a backing track or my favorite song to play along. I think Fender hit it out of the park with this one, but it doesn't work so well with my SG because of the speed knobs that get in the way. It can plug and play but it has to stick up a little instead of laying flat but other than that it works on my les Paul and tele fine.

I love this to play at home and not drive family crazy- sounds, clarity are awesome. Sweetwater is also the best place to get my equipment from- great service!!

I have tried every Fender, Orange, and Blackstar guitar amplifier under $500 over the past 2 years and was hesitant to try this Mustang Micro thinking it was a gimmick. Boy was I wrong! For the home guitarist or someone practicing on the go this is the ultimate guitar amp. Infact I sold all my gear including Boss pedals and now only use this. The simplicity of plug and go along with being a headphone amp and an audio interface for recording with smartphone, tablet, or computer makes this a no brainer for anyone's musical arsenal.

Fender should be putting these in all their beginner Squier packs. I hope Fender improves on this in the future allowing folks to swap out the amps/effects to those of their liking. I would pay DOUBLE to have the ability and even pay per download. Since I play oldies 50s pop rock, 60s garage rock, surf, blues, and rockabilly I don't end up using half the amps or effects this has to offer. All i need is the 65 Deluxe with Spring Reverb or Slapback Echo and I'm ready to go. Although having a Champ Amp, Bassman amp, and a Bluesdriver Overdrive would make this PERFECt.

I've been very happy with the Fender Mustang Micro Headphone Amp, I can practice quietly, at off hours, through headphones and still get great sound. I haven't tried a lot of the settings, mostly the Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb and have been very happy with it. I've used the Bluetooth to add a drum beat with a separate phone app and it works great. I've also used the usb-c connection with the included audio interface capabilities, and a good longer usb-c cable (the longer usb-c cable was bought separately though a shorter usb-c cable is included.) I've recorded with it directly into my laptop's Logic Pro DAW and it works great. I've been recharging it through an Apple 20 watt usb-c phone style wall charger and it seems to work fine. The charge lasts long enough for any session I've used it for and I just recharge it at the end of the session. Great product, small and compact, and fits nicely in my guitar case. I'm very happy with it.

After having trouble with my amp, I called Kent Sallaz at Sweetwater, and asked him for some advice as I always do before making any purchase, and after giving me some info, I decided to go with the Fender Mustang, micro. I have had other small units before by other manufacturers, and they were ok. But, just ok. Once i received the Fender in the mail, i was blown away. The first thing was it's size. I could take it anywhere, just put it in my pocket. Then the settings, there are so many amp settings, effects settings, EQ, and you can modify the sounds with the MOd switch. It gives me what i need, the different sounds that i use with my regular amp. I plug it into my guitar, plug my headphones in, turn it on, and that's it.
The other thing i like about it is that, it is quick to charge, and once it's charged, it holds a charge for hours.
For anyone that is looking for a unit that is small, easy to use, and actually a pleasure to use.

This has been one of the best accessories that I have purchased in a long time. For a very reasonable price the freedom to work on songs when and where I like. The controls are as indicated, and the sound is very good.

I had seen David Brewster review the product on YouTube about a year ago, but Sweetwater did not have them available. I purchased a VOX Classic Rock headphone amp and it is really cool, but not really easy to use. The Micro Mustang is incredible and super user friendly. The only drawback that I can see potential buyers might have, is that if they are colorblind, the bright LEDs will not assist their choices. I suggest that companies use numbers and letters instead of hard to distinguish lights.
That aside, it is well worth the price. I love that I can plug in and play it in any of my guitars, without cables, pedals or practicing through my amps. Charge it with a USB, grab a pair of headphones and enjoy!

I've had this headphone amp for over a year now and use it almost everyday for practice. Fender did a fantastic job, I love all the amp/effects settings and the versatility those options bring. It's also fun to plug in and record with and is easy to charge/carry around with you on trips or vacations.

Fender also had a firmware update on their website, which just goes to show the kind of thought/care they went into updating a tiny little practice amp!

Would recommend to anyone.

A handy device for practice. I bought one for myself and learned the advantage of having a simple plug-in with a set of headphones that produce a nice collections of effects for practice. So, bought two more, one for a friend and another for my granddaughter. Worth the coin and recommend the Fender Mustang Micro Headphone Amp to anyone that wants to practice or play with earpods or headphones.

Great tones, easy to use, what else is there to say!

The Fender Mustang Micro is outstanding. With a good headset (I use a Bose QC15), you wont believe the sound of this little thing. I love to use it because of its clean sound and every note is crisp and clear. Quite honestly, I don't really use my amp (Mustang 100) at home as much now.

You can also blue tooth your phone to it to run backing tracks.

There's a few reasons to get the device, a list:

1) Enables true pick up and play practice. Sometimes any hinderance at all, like having to plug into an amp, fiddle with the volume, being leashed to the amp, can derail your good intentions around practicing guitar. This device effectively eliminates all of them. You can pick up your guitar and play anywhere, at any time.

2) You want to play with various guitar effects but don't want to spend a bunch of money, or deal with setup and cabling for virtual amps and pedals on an iPad and so on. This has a bunch of different amps with different types of distortion as well as different effects that can be used on each. I love the 90's sound a lot, sounds fantastic on my headphones.

3) Bluetooth audio input from a device means you can easily play along to music or lesson videos without any cabling hassle either. Grab guitar, grab iPad, and you're practicing.

4) Audio interface for noodling. This device can act as a audio interface, but it's not a replacement for the iRig for true recording or using virtual pedals. Why? Because the audio output coming from it is the mix you hear in your headphones. So if you're listening to a beat and playing to it, when you record you're going to be recording the drum beat and your guitar at the same time. This is actually great for recording noodling sessions where you're just jamming along with something because you're recording what you're hearing exactly. But if you're trying to do multitrack recording while monitoring the full mix with one device… this is not the device for you. Get an iRig!

I just received my Mustang headphone amp and am really pleased. The diversity of sounds is great, and I love being able to mix my guitar in with any music I can play on my phone, through bluetooth into the Mustang. This provides a great way to learn songs or jam with a band, practicing rhythm and lead. I thought Boss Waza Air were a little expensive, and if you have some wired headphones, this is a great alternative. I recommend the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.

Just started using this yesterday. I have a couple of the Vox Amplugs also and have used them quite a bit. The new Fender is a bit better with more options. Some of the settings are not my style, but I think there are plenty of option. I also like the USB C charging option. Overall pretty good.

Great little amp! I was impressed with the amp options it has. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to have the portability to jam.

I love the Mustang Micro; it's perfect for when I want to practice and not wake the house, and for when I want to travel but not lug along an amp. The controls are remarkably easy to use (keep the settings card handy!), and the tones are great. I love the simplicity of the connections, with only one wire to my headphones. The design of the jack makes it easy to attach to any of my guitars, and it folds out of the way for travel. I've used other similar devices, but the spiderweb of cables (one to the guitar, one to the phone, one to the headphones) was always in the way, and the tone wasn't nearly as good as the Mustang Micro. It's pretty incredible for what can be done with such a small device.

Sure it's Fender, so it can't be that bad for a headphone amp. But from the from strum, this little amps giant tones blew me away. Crystal clean tones to smoking distortion. This pocket sized amp does it all and at a 10 out of 10 performance. Can't go wrong with this, even you have everything, add this to your collection.

I have been using the Rockman X-100 headphone amp for around 30 years. The special power chord had been repaired several times and was due for more repairs. I decided to shop for something easier to set up with less cords and more amp models and effects. The Micro checked all the boxes, plus. I was playing within 5 minutes. The Bluetooth feature was easy to pair with my Samsung S21 phone within another 5 minutes.Now I can dial up my favorite band, tuck the phone in my pocket and duck walk across my living room without triping over chords. The amp models are spot-on as are the effects. Rock on. Rest in well deserved peace, Rockman XL-100. I gave 4.5 stars because a headphone bluetooth and amp to amp capability would have been nice. I love the Sweetwater difference service, service, service.

This thing has a bit of a learning curve. It's good for one thing: getting a really pristine clean sound. All of the crunch and high gain models sound artificial and trashy.

So first off I want to give a shout out to my sales engineer Rob Koch and thank him for suggesting this thing for me. I have easily doubled the amount of practice / playing time I have spent since I got it.

To preface this review I am (FINALLY) learning guitar so I don't have a history of "tone chasing" or anything like that. You could argue that makes this review less relevant…or you could argue I don't have the hangups and biases a more experienced guitar player might have….take your pick.

Having said that I get the sense from some of the more negative reviews that some people want this to be more than it was ever intended to be. I feel like this is best viewed as a practice amp; something to use when you don't feel like turning on your rig, or maybe you want to noodle around with some high gain tones while your kids are sleeping or its 1:00am in your apartment. I don't think this was EVER intended to offer premier quality sound, to replace an amp/pedalboard or even to contend with the other Mustang amps. This isn't about tweaking or "finding a sound"...you throw on something and just play!!

Something I think may have led people to believe this is more than intended is the ability to record to your computer. But even then I feel it's a way to "sketch" down what you have come upon: you come up with an interesting amp/effect combo, record it to your laptop before you forget…THEN you go back later with your rig (whatever that may consist of) and flesh it out later. At no time do I think Fender intended this to be used to make a high quality finished product.

I can only say for myself this thing has been amazing for me!! I can just plug into my PRS SE and hear an ACTUAL electric guitar sound without having to worry about disturbing the neighbors with an actual amp or having to hook up to interface and record into laptop (when you are exhausted at the end of that day that takes waaaay too long!!). The build quality is perfectly fine (again...for what it is) to me and I have not had any issues with the jack. The ability to connect with bluetooth is awesome as well as I utilize a free online course, so all I have to do is connect, throw my headphones on and I can listen to the lesson AND the tutorial.

If you look at this as a simple practice tool or even a sketch pad for songwriting then I don't think that you go wrong with this thing…but if you think this is going to somehow replace whatever setup you already have or will be the cost effective version of the setup you want...then yes you will be sorely disappointed!!

This is hands down the best money (now more expensive) I've spent on a piece of music gear in 40 years of making music.
I use it virtually every day.

I am a longtime user of Digitech multi-effects pedals. They have so much in such a small unit - including the ability to connect to a PC and record clean tracks to any DAW. When I first spotted the Fender Mustang Micro I knew in an instant I would want one. And after buying one and using it for a month or so I have to say that it is really pretty amazing. For starters, it is tiny. Barely bigger than a Matchbox toy car. It is loaded with pre-sets that simulate 11 amplifiers, plus a clean "studio preamp." For effects, there are 12 pre-set combos that include reverb, chorus, flanger etc. Though the ability to customize the effects levels is rather limited, you can play around with it. It produces some pretty great tones that you can listen to with headphones or use a patch cable to send the signal to a speaker. It has USB-C for charging AND for recording directly to a DAW on your PC. So it can't be said to replace, for instance, the Digitech RP360 but it does a pretty good job considering you can go to a park or anywhere outdoors and still have an "amplifier." It's cool. I love it.

i tried this out at sweetwater and was like meh. Being a tube snob these type of digital tones i'm not super into, but my wife ended up getting it for me for my anniversary and I gotta admit, it's pretty cool and has allowed me to practice more in the living room vs going to my recording office with my other gear and rig. I love how easy it is to dial in a usable setting, i did buy some better headphones to pair with it. I can say i tried recording to an Iphone with it, it does work but you need a special camera adapter. There's a youtube vid on how to do it. The downside is you can't really monitor though (other tracks for instance) if you tried the bluetooth function there would be a delay, but if you want to record one track you can at a time. HP has a great youtube vid on this, for the price and what it does it pretty awesome, tones are Meh, i can get some usable ones, but i would highly recommend for a practice and travel rig when you want to jam say at a campsite or hotel

I used it literally once and the jack broke--I had to keep twisting and turning it to get a "sweet spot" where the output came through the second time around. I looked it up online and it's a fairly common problem--apparently you can get around it by using Bluetooth headphones but...I couldn't figure out how to connect it to anything other than my phone, and there's no app (at least on Android) to listen to what you're playing (unlike the nuX)...so the Bluetooth function is pointless

My suspicion is the jack broke internally when I tried to pull it out (there's no ergonomic handle to help you remove it), though I couldn't see any external signs of damage. The fact is, it's made of cheap plastic and for $ you should get sturdier materials. The Vox ones are also notorious for breaking but their price is much better and I've never had one break after one use.

I will say that when it worked it sounded great--much better than other micro amps (recording quality tbh). But only for that one night. It was under one year warranty so I got my money back but this is supremely disappointing overall.

sounds really good for price range. wide variety of tones to choose from. blue tooth works great. can play along with your favorite songs. wish i had 1 years ago. bought a demo. it was well worth a 100 bucks. only possible downside...not exactly rugged construction. just be careful with it.

I packed a guitar for an extended trip and didn't want to carry an amplifier. I found this device on the Internet and did some research before I purchased one. This micro amplifier is simply amazing in its sound and flexibility. Great device for travel and the home.

I got good sound out of this right out of the box. The presets seem to be all I need. Not sure of all the buttons will need some time too new at this electric guitar thing.
I gave it 4 stars because it feels like plastic. Taking it in and out of the guitar I felt like it could break any time. I ended up getting short extension cable to plug into the guitar and leave in the device. This helps me access the device when plugged into the bottom of the Guitar as well as never have to unplug the device. The USB cable that came with the device is good enough for charging but to short to plug into a computer for recording

This little thing packs a big punch in sound, effects and mobility. I can walk around my house and even my backyard and play along to anything on my phone with its bluetooth feature. Highly recomended for the price!

I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. I have a Tele Thinline, I live in an apartment building, can't play through my tube amp in the apartment... the neighbors, you know. So, I play the Tele through this into my headphones. Next best thing. P.S. This may be best suited for single coil pickups, Fender or otherwise. My Gretsch with double coils didn't sound so good through it.

This amp has transformed my practice routine for my electric guitar. The ease of use is remarkable, just plug and play. The tones are fun but the main thing for me is how easy it is to use. No more setting up an amp to practice.

Exceeded My expectations. Takes a little time to find the exact sound you want but scrolling through, you find many cool sounds you want to revisit. Sweetwater is great. The fender site for,some reason, would not take my order, but Sweetwater came through with flying colors.

I have a Thinline Tele with 4th Gen noiseless pickups. In and of itself, this unit is highly entertaining and definitely worth the money. Simple to use, rechargeable, and let's me play as "loud" as I want without disturbing my apartment neighbors. The Tele sounds GREAT through it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it can't duplicate the warm, luscious tone and nuance as my 15W Fender Blues Jr. tube amp played clean at low volume. In my limited amp modeling experiencing, that may be impossible. That said? I'd still buy it again.

I haven't recorded with this yet, but as a late night practice amp, this thing is great. The amp models are really good and the effects are usable. I like to keep the amps dry and plug it into the end of my pedalboard so I can fine tune more than the settings allow. Also I can use it with my looper that way. The Bluetooth feature is good for video lessons and jam tracks. My only complaint is that I didn't buy it before the price went up.

I'm eating my words .. When this came out I bashed it unjustly comparing it to the Vox amp plug mainly because of its size. I was ignorant. This is great sounding product , it is well made and functions flawlessly. The cleans are in a word Awesome. I also own a Boss Air and that's it's own thing . The mustang micro is simplistic, no crashing apps or double Bluetooth pairing. The Boss is ok and you can tinker forever . This is just plug and play in the best way . If you're looking for great sounding cleans or mild dirt tones give the mustang micro a try . It's mighty for its size

A must-have gadget. High quality construction for amazing sounds.

The mini-amp itself is not new to me, this Fender model is. Other brands became weak or even "tinny" to the point where the tone was annoying. Even with their gain or various limited pre-select control tweaked; although, it could be the headphone buds or low quality output cord.
This Fender though. Not weak. Not tinny. Unbelievable tone. Tones, actually. Even YouTube videos do not do it justice. I first fired it up with all out-of-box defaults set and that was my first hour. All my boring homework scales (spider walk, pentatonic, etc.) and warm ups now have a whole new zeal. And it recharges with a USB. Battery life seems like forever. I plugged it straight into the mini-input of my PA monitor too, just for fun. And it is. So much.
If you do use these headphone amps, switch to this Fender Mustang (even the names cool!). Or, if you're thinking about dabbing into it. don't skimp. I still have many pre-sets left on this Fender I need to explore. Including the way it plugs n plays into the MAC's GarageBand. My son has a MAC and showed me. It comes with a USB charging cord, but I separate ordered the (Roland RCC-10) cord you'll need for GarageBand. He plugged it in and that was all. Done. Recording with Marshall amps. Try doing that with FocusRite.

This is by far the best I have used so far. Beats the Vox hands down. Easier to understand the controls and much easier manipulating the controls while using it. The tones / sounds are great, either with single coils or hum buckets. I would recommend paying the extra cost to get this over a Vox or similar unit.

Probably the best investment i've made. Plenty of selections and adjustments. I can also practice without pissig the whole neighborhood off lol! Trying to find a bluetooth headset compatible with it, without breaking the bank! other than that Get it you won't regret it!

Great little product for me(beginner). I no longer feel like I annoy my family when playing(because I suck). Bluetooth feature is awesome for listening and playing along during lessons. Designed well can use in various positions on different guitar body styles. Just make sure you get good quality cord for your headphones.

The Fender Mustang Micro sounds actually better than playing through my amp. Through my amp, I have volume restrictions. With the Fender Mustang Micro I can get the sound I want from my guitar without volume restrictions. No worries about disturbing anyone.

This little device absolutely lives up to the hype. I really just can't believe it. I also bought the Shure 215 in ear monitors, which don't hurt the sound.

It works quite well. I used both Senheiser 300 and also their earbuds. Both work well.

Bought from Sweetwater. Hard to find reviews corroborating that this is solid for bass. I've been using the Vox Bass adapter for awhile. It's decent. Started to get flaky with sound, and had to really EQ for each bass I plugged in. I bought this, basically took off all effects (clean sound, no reverb -- um, we're bass players). It sounds pure for each instrument I plug in, including my fretless. Very nice. I also looked at the Roland/Boss headsets. Everything Roland/Boss is great. I'm partial to my own earbuds, and the price difference was substantial. Plus, this Bluetooth to my IPad eliminated the annoying cable that was plugged into my Vox -- cleaning up things substantially. Cool product (how the heck do they fit all that technology into this genius design? I eliminated all the effects -- but for a guitar player, this is such a cool doo-dad).

This is a nice, fun little gadget, but if you are hoping to use it with your Travel Guitar, please buy something else. The Mustang Micro does not work with instruments that have piezo pickups, like the Travel Guitar.

I use this with an Acoustasonic Stratocaster and an active bass. It's great for practice or play. I use the bluetooth function to play along with tunes on my Android phone. Everything just works. The effects sound fine but I don't make much use of them. I haven't used the computer interface feature yet. The great thing about the Mustang Micro is that it liberates you from being stuck in any one place. Play anywhere.

I figured out how to set up my practice kit wirelessly using the Fender mustang mini amp.

I just added a wireless connector set with a 1/4 female/female connector and a 3.5mm to 1/4 patch cable. See photo

You won't regret buying this item, but for a guitar with the Jack on the side you need an added thing that doesn't exist. Someone need to create a pouch that you could attach to you strap and then short cord to the guitar jack.

Great tool for practicing scales, arpeggios and learning music without driving others within the hearing of your reputation. Excellent for learning new music in private and then revealing your new tunes in public. Fun to experiment with the different amps and effects. Very helpful Bluetooth capability that provides the ability to develop listening and learning guitar parts from favorite recordings and guitarists when using tool with smartphone or pad. Like it very much! Better headphones the better the experience with nuances of your guitar.

I was very hesitant to spend $ on a headphone amp thinking they are all cheap and don't exactly sound very good nor would they have multiple tonal options. Man was I wrong! I have a pretty good set of AKC headphones that are pretty clear. I find myself playing through the mustang micro much more than anything else. I can Bluetooth from my laptop to the micro and listen to tutorials and play along and hear what I'm playing at the same time. I can even use it with backing tracks and record. There is probably more tonal options on there then you'll ever need or use. Another added benefit is if you're looking to buy a fender amp, you can get a pretty good idea of what it sounds like before hand. Of course it's not going to be exact, but you will definitely get a very good idea. DEFINITELY WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!

This is fantastic! Fender got it just right. The amp selection is great, and while the effect and tone adjustments are limited they're right on the spot. It's a great device to practice on or to easily record an idea on your cellphone.

As an amateur player I'd been looking for a something like this that allows me to practice anywhere and also dubs as an affordable and easy to use recording tool. The Mustang Micro checks all the boxes. It's got enough options and effects to practice just about anything as a stand alone plug. Plus, it's a great recording tool that even dubs as a amp sim on a pedalboard. I can plug it into my pedalboard and record with a wider range of effects. If the on board amp sims aren't what I'm looking for I can always select the "blue" amp setting which is a pass through signal setting (as shown in the photo) and add something in the recording software.

Quick note to address the comments about noise. Yes, it can pickup some noise. Yet I've noticed this is related to my and the guitar's position in the room. Turing around or finding another spot fixes the issue. I guess the headphones act as some sort of antenna that can pickup interference that bleeds into the signal. It might also have to do with the cellphone position relative to the Mustang's. I stream a lot through Bluetooth and have noticed some interference that is solved by changing my or my cellphone's position.

I've had the Micro for a couple of weeks and it is everything I was hoping for. My wife has been very tolerant of me trying to learn some songs/chords/scales but now I can practice heavily without bothering her at all (although now she'll occasionally give me grief for practicing longer periods-can't win!). One of my weaknesses is a lack of rhythm (and I hate using a metronome). But with Bluetooth I can play Jam tracks or drum beat apps and play along via the Micro.

Highly recommend this product-it's fantastic.

Bought this to fit my new Traveler UltraLight, but it can't hear the guitar! Apparently, it doesn't work with piezos. Overall, that's disappointing.

It worked fine for a bit, loose in all my guitars.

I love the clarity and portability of this little amp. I used to have a Vox unit, but rechargeability and more options are a no-brainer! Fender did a good job with the Amps/Effects; and my Audio-Technica headphones sound awesome through it. I still haven't tried to use the bluetooth or audio thru USB feature. I hope in the future we'll see the ability to load presets through firmware updates. Even without the more "professional" features, this unit shines as a portable practice rig. I've been bringing my Classic Vibe Strat to work every day and my whole rig can be carried with one hand. You can't beat that!

It has some pretty good combo's of tones, At first I was not a fan but after awhile I find it pretty cool.
What I like it mostly is that it get's pretty loud and you won't wake no one up!

I like it because it's simple with enough variety to satisfy my craving. I had the Boss Waza Air Headphones and hated them since day one except for the comfort and sound of the headphones. Boss Waza Air had way too many options and the connection issues to the app were extremely frustrating. As a beginner, I believe the Mustang Micro is perfect! Plug and play, that's it. Dial into blues or click a few buttons for a nice metal sound. Well done Fender!

I tried all the settings and was fully charged and still everything sounded muddy. This is a piece of junk. Biggest waste of money.

I bought this primarily for 2 reasons, 1) rechargeable 2) it is more convenient and portable than an actual, or convential, amp.

I love this headphone amp and I need to eliminate the cord though, I need to buy and use Bluetooth headphones asap. Excellent product for my uses for certain. I will recommend it to everyone I meet who plays guitar.

I went through alot of u tube reviews before I thought about buying this amp.and it sounded really good. So I got it.I like most of the amps and effects.but the one that I didn't like was the 65 twin with compressor.WERE IS THE REVERB!!!!.I was looking forward to that lush reverb,and it's not there.it sounds like it was set on its lowest setting if you took a twin amp and set the reverb on 1 or 2 I have to use the modulated reverb instead and that was disappointing. Most of the other effects are good. It's very rare to find a review we're they play a guitar with humbuckerpickups.this amp sounds amazing with my Les Paul the FBE-100 is my favorite setting I'm pretty satisfied with this amp I know it's just a plug and play amp but I wish you could tweak it .on my Vox amplug.you could at lease adjust the gain and tone this amp has that but the tones are very subtle they all sound the same.I know what's going to happen,Fender is going to come out with a new version of this amp,that you can tweak then I'm going have to get rid of this one.

Only thing on the market with all the features, absolutely fantastic idea. Current software has a problem with some acoustic electrics, including Lava ME 2 freeboost. It's a known problem that they are working on with no forecasted resolution date, per Fender support.

I got this on a whim. I don't play much through my small rig (1x12 fender combo and a small board) so I thought I'd give this a try.

I was surprised by how nice most of the amp models are. Even more so by the onboard effects.

I would like to see some major improvements on the higher gain amp sims. Even harmonics and smoother distortions would be high on the list. I know that there's only so much you can do, but it wouldn't hurt to make the heavy stuff a bit more tolerable.

If you're looking for a neat little gadget with a handful of effects in a very small package and aren't too picky about artificial type of amp sounds this should definitely be on your gear list.

One of the reasons I waited so long to learn to play guitar is that it's too loud for the people around me. This headphones amp is awesome. It works with headphones I already have and sounds great too. I can even hear my Fender Play lessons through my headphones while I practice, by using the Bluetooth feature. Another plus is that other than the cord from my headphones, this micro amp is cordless. I keep it in my gig bag when I'm not using it. I can practice anywhere with this amp and everything thing I need is in my gig bag. Definitely recommend the Fender Mustang Micro Headphones Amp.

I have purchased a couple of the Vox mini headphone amps in the past. While functional their sound and features were just passable. This new Fender Mustang micro doesn't sound half bad. The setting took a bit to get used to, but the cheat card included sure helped. If you've tried other brands and they left a sour impression. If you'd like a micro amp to take when trying out guitars or just to quiet down your sound not to annoy others. I suggest you give this little beast a try. You might actually enjoy the it.

Great micro amp love the ease of use multiple amp and effects selection and ability to play backing tracks and any other bluetooth audio with impressive sound quality through the headphones. Thanks to sales engineer Damon Spragia for always providing excellent customer service.

I wanted to be able to noodle away on my guitars quietly while in the bedroom and while watching over my daughter and our new puppy in the living room with my wife without annoying the crap out of her - my normal rig is downstairs in our rec room and I don't want to move that stuff around all the time! Anyway, I looked over a few headphone amps and have previously tried a few iOS guitar apps before that didn't impress me, and decided to try this little guy out. From the specs it had the nice slew of amps and effects and the demos I researched sounded really solid. Once it arrived I put it through its paces (Strandberg Standard 7, Strat with Fat 50s, and a Les Paul with EMG Fat 55s) into my best set of headphones and...Good Lord. I got some ridiculously rich tones out of this! Obviously this is a simplified and relatively limited modeling amp in compact form factor that won't be as flexible as a full-sized Mustang, other modelers, or my Katana MKII and pedal setup, but jamming with my favorite songs via bluetooth (which sounds terrific on its own) and the select high-quality tones and effects onboard - even the high-gain stuff is really good and not just for a Fender amp - made me giggle out loud with a dumb grin. Your milage may vary, and this isn't going to replace my normal amp setup, but I'm LOVING it - it's so much fun! The LED color-coding for each amp/effect/EQ parameter is a nice visual touch that lets you know what you're running, though some of the colors are a bit too similar to each other and may cause slight confusion - I just go off the sound I'm after so it isn't really an issue (the wallet-sized cheat card they throw in helps, too). The tone-to-price ratio makes this a very formidable little piece of kit, and practicing literally anywhere and sounding great doing so never felt so good to me before.

The micro is a very good alternative to play and practice with minimum equipment. The sound is very good and the effects and amps options provide you a range possibilities. The user interface is not as good. I hope they evolve this in the next generation. Recommended.

I bought the fender mustang micro because it's hard for me to get around and set up even a small amp and effect pedal, so I thought the convenience would make it easier for me to practice more. For that purpose alone the amp is outstanding. But today I tried playing it from the headphone out to a PA and was excited by the result. I'm planning on using it Sunday through the PA at church and just using the floor wedge as my monitor. It will be great to not have to carry an amp and effect pedal, as just walking sometimes is a chore. If it sounds as good as my PA at home it will be a real game changer for me. I'm always looking for alternatives to compensate for my inability to carry my tube amps and maintain a quality sound. It's not perfect but it's very good. I'm very pleased with this little monster. For sound quality and value as well as convenience.

Agree with most of the two and three star reviews. If you're using it on anything other than a Strat, expect a lot of hiss and dropout of sound. It's nice to have all of the available amp options, but it's really a pain to find the one(s) you want. Save your money!

I've been searching for years for a comparable replacement for an original Tom Sholz Rockman I had back in the eighties, but none of the headphone amps I tried came close. After reading all the reviews and knowing Fender's reputation I bought this tiny amp and from the moment I plugged it in, knew I had found a headphone amp that is far better than the Rockman. It is small but well built and seems pretty sturdy and takes up no room in the guitar case. Plugged into the guitar it is totally out of the way but easily accessible to change the settings, and all twelve amp settings sound huge and lush, not 'cheap' or 'tinny', and with all the effects, it's very easy to dial in a really great sound that will make you question how it's possible in something so small. I've read a review where they said the settings have to be reprogrammed each time it's turned on, but the settings on my amp stays where I left them when I turn it off, and so far it hasn't needed a recharge, and I've used it for hours without a loss in signal or sound quality. I absolutely love this little amp and wish I had gotten earlier, it has really made playing the guitar more fun as I am no longer tied to my 30 watt amp by the length of my headphone and guitar cables. I bought a new pair of Behringer HPX2000 headphones to use with it but have discovered wired earbuds are way more convenient and in my opinion sound better so I now use the HPX2000's on my practice amp and am very pleased with them also. Seriously, the only negative to using the Fender Micro is I can't use my wah pedal with it but that's a small tradeoff for something so awesome. I cannot recommend this little amp enough, it is really worth every penny and far surpassed my expectations. and it is capable of authentic sounds for almost any music genre. And buying from Sweetwater is a no-brainer because they have a stellar reputation for top quality gear and excellent customer service, and have knowledgeable sales engineers like Tiberious Huiu, who know their gear and can help you with anything musical, just ask them. This is the best thing since sliced bread. I've been waiting for something like this for 40 years. I wish I could get the quality of the sound of this thru my headphones to come out of my amp. Unbelievable hi fidelity sound. Compact and very durable. I'm probably going to buy another one just n case this one breaks. I highly recommend this product!

I have other headphone amps but this one blows them out of the water, with its variety of amps, effects, etc. The Bluetooth feature is too cool -- I've spent way too many hours already, just going through all the songs on my phone and playing along with them. Also I'm playing along with original snippets recorded on my phone and this is a great way to build on those ideas too. Rechargeable via USB -- a great feature; no batteries to ever have to mess with. Very glad I got one -- but this baby is very addictive. You've been warned.

This is by far, the best practice "amp" that I have ever used. Though the tones are all presets, so you can't fine-tune a unique sound, the convenience, size, and quality make up for it. I love that you can plug this directly into an iPad or Mac to record an idea that you have (as either a DI or with the amps and effects). I also love the bluetooth feature so that you can play along with music from your phone.

The size is also excellent since it easily fits in my guitar case and is always with me. I'd highly recommend you buy one if you are traveling and are away from your amps.

I just got this Fender Micro. I guess I was expecting too much. It sounds just like a Rockman from the '90s. I do like that it plugs directly into the guitar, but the amp sounds are really built around chorus and reverb sounds - no real distortion. If you're really Jonesing to play in a place that requires quiet, this is for you.

This is a a great tool for folks who want to play guitar late at night in close quarters or with sleeping children. It's also perfect for those who travel with a guitar and want to turn it up in motel rooms.

The better the headphones the better the sound quality.

This device is easy to setup and use. A lot less expensive than buying another amp!

This amp has been a lot of fun, I mostly use it to practice after the kids have gone to bed. The battery life has been great, and it sounds good. Using it as a USB interface is a nice bonus.

A tiny computer that knows the tones

The materials are quite cheap feeling- it's all plastic and the volume knob has a loose and unpleasant feel. The tones are quite mediocre- worse sounding in my opinion than the presets on the Mustang LT and Mustang GTX series amplifiers. The worst aspect of this device's design has to be the input jack- unless you're playing a strat, the weight of your headphone cable will cause the mustang micro to wiggle around like crazy in your output jack, resulting in your guitar tone constantly cutting out. I've tested this with multiple guitars, and it isn't an input jack issue.

The Bluetooth connectivity and usb C charging are the only redeemable features of this device.

There is nothing like this, super useful and to be honest it has some pretty descent tones, I love it.

I spend more time now playing than twisting knobs - which is exactly why I bought this in the first place. It was initially backordered but was definitely worth the wait. I used to own a Mustang III a few years back and liked the sound. I'm old enough to remember a time when I would have thought this to be nothing short of magical. A very well deserved five stars! Wow! I just received this and immediately gave it a try. I was blown away at how good this thing sounds. I put on my headphones and started trying out the different amps without modifying the effects to see how it sounded "out of the box" so to speak and I wasn't disappointed. I've barely scratched the surface of what this thing's capable of but am thoroughly impressed already.
I own a VOX plug-in and like it for what it does but this thing takes it to a whole new level. Fender got this right!

I live in an apartment in Brooklyn, and much as my neighbors enjoy hearing me play different versions of Link Wray's Rumble, I think they prefer to sleep in on Sunday mornings, so the Mustang is perfect for everyone! I am really enjoying it - I have a pretty big stable of electric guitars and used to be reluctant to crank them up knowing that it would disturb my neighbors during off hours (and now even during the day since everyone seems to be working from home!)

Since I bought this amp from Sweetwater, I have been playing 2-3 hours most days - more than I ever cranked things up before. When it first arrived in the mail (two days after I ordered it with free shipping!!!), I just plugged it in and started wailing, but about a week ago, I decided to read the instructions and the color-coded guide to different amps and effects that came with it. There is a good variety of different combinations and they all sound great. The bluetooth is a nice feature as well - I can jam along on Spotify through my phone with all my classic rock heroes. So this pocket-sized machine really has become my new practice amp.

I like it so much I am getting one for my bud for his birthday!

This micro headphone amp from Fender is a winner in every respect, from price to amp modes to nearly limitless features, Fender just schooled the competition who will likely roll out their versions as the impact of this mini amp hits them full force.
True stereo, Sterling clean or in-your-face grind, flanging and anything and everything you could want. For real. Plays forever on a charge, smaller and lighter than a pack of gum and features that leave a good taste in your mouth. I don't know how else to say it: BUY THIS AUDIO MIRACLE! FOR REAL!!

After I received this incredible Jem. It sat on my desk for weeks before I even tried using it. Had I known how great this amazing AMP was I would have run to use it. I experienced a musical journey I haven't taken for decades if ever. My Guitar with the SD Pearly Gates never sounded so wonderful. The Nuances I was Able to achieve were way beyond my usual. The touch sensitivity and tube tone is what all amps should sound like. After 55 years of playing. I have found my Holy Grail.

First off, this is not a bad product. It is just not for me. I had to try it. This is a "jack of all trades, master of none" type product. It is an emulator or simulation. It sounds digital because it is digital. I prefer a true analog sound, thus the issue is with me and not the product. This is designed to give you an idea about the amps it is trying to duplicate and that is it. It sounds artificial and synthetic. Notice I did not say it sounds bad, it just sounds like a digital interpretation of the real thing. This is a neat product but just not for me. I will take analog any day.

It's just amazing how this lightweight device works. The tones, the effects, the options are limitless. The best thing about it is the Bluetooth capability. You can hear everything through your headphones and nobody has to be annoyed.

This is an amazing bit of tech. It's small, convenient to use, has 4+ hours of battery and has made impromptu practicing so much easier. The tones are fantastic and being able to pair it with my laptop or phone makes online lessons and playing over a backing track so simple! It doesn't have the versatile range that my Fender Mustang Lt25 does, but for such a small, convenient package it's mindblowing what it can do. And, as always, buying from Sweetwater was hands down the best online buying experience I've ever had. I will never buy gear from another online company again.

First of all, what a great sounding little device. It is great to play anytime you want without bothering anyone in the house. Wish this was wireless and a little easier to scroll through. I usually just select a amp and effect and play. The way it plugs into my Tele, and LP makes changing settings a bit of a challenge, but this device sounds amazing and is a great tool for playing and not disturbing the family.

I bought this to practice in silence while laid up from major spine surgery. I can't climb the stairs to my studio for a bit so I thought this is a great idea. This little rig will change the way you practice. Get some good headphones and you may find yourself in your living room with your favorite guitar a lot more. It works really well, ingenious, you'll love it.

I recently purchased a couple Fender guitars for a new band I joined, and found that they just didn't sound right when I would rehearse at home (I use a Fender amp at rehearsal). I have no extra room or finances for another Fender amp for home use, and I often practice with others around or at night. The Bluetooth feature is perfect for playing along with audio from my phone. This little amplug is just right for my situation, and it sounds identical enough to my rehearsing amp so I know what to expect tone-wise when I play with the band.

Sounds darn good. Great for a practice setup. Definitely money well spent.

This little thing is amazing. I was trying to think of the easies way to practice guitar while on the road in the motorhome without driving my wife crazy. So I took a chance on this. The sound quality is much better than I expected, and it great being able to change amps and effects. Today I connected it to my phone via bluetooth and that works great as well. So one small piece of gear, a set of headphones, my phone, and a guitar. Heck, everything fits in with the guitar case!

Sounds great and the amp and effects are great. Really like the Bluetooth integration with a mobile device so I can listen to a lesson. Only downside is having the headphone wire getting trapped behind the guitar.

This little amp is amazing. 12 different amps, 13 different effects, usb rechargeable, and will fit in your gig bag or case. The clean sound is unbeatable, and the crunch, while not as crunchy as the Vox metal ampplug, still has an amazing sound. Add effects to it, and you get a wide variety of possible sounds. It costs double of other headphone amps, but delivers about 10x more. I highly recommend this amp for anyone wanting a small practice amp, or a personal headphone amp. With this and a set of headphones, you can go basically anywhere, and still be jamming. Try this thing out, you won't be disappointed.

Play anytime, anywhere. Blues, jazz, metal, no sound is out of reach with this little device. I was astonished by the quality of most of the presets. I got a crush on the 65 deluxe + green box setting that even cleans up when I roll down the volume on my Strat.
Battery life goes for 4 hours easily, as claimed in the description. The device is more sturdy than expected.
The only caveat is about the provided USB-C cable that is way to short in my opinion.

I got one of these for my birthday and I'm really enjoying it. I'm not familiar enough with all the modeled amps to comment on accuracy, but this little amp sounds great through a set of inexpensive Tascam studio headphones. The amp models are cool, and the effects are useful and fun. The effects lean heavily toward reverb, and sound great. I can play at night while my wife--who works early so sleeps early--sleeps, without keeping her awake. Highly recommended,

This thing sounds better than I expected and replaces a lot of annoying multi-cable practice setups I put together. Headphones, guitar, smartphone/laptop and this thing is all you need to practice or noodle for hours to whatever videos, songs or backing tracks you want to load up. Sound and build quality is much better than the NUX GP1 I was using before, and it has bluetooth-in, a rechargeable battery, and lots of easily accessible amp sounds. The only minor quibble I have is that there is no gain control, but that's why guitars have volume knobs.

I love my new Mustang Micro. It's easy to use and produces so many different effects as compared to other similar devices in my studio. I particularly like it's recharging capability and the ability to record directly. It makes a great practice tool. I find myself playing more and almost anywhere.

I bought the Fender Micro Amp after reading so many positive reviews. I like the idea of being able to practice whenever/wherever I can and sometimes that means not having to lug amps and various pedal setups to places (my office, etc.). This little Amp fits easily into my Gibson Les Paul. The sound that comes out of it is astounding (I was not expecting that). I'm still learning all of the settings but having a blast doing so! Game changer for sure! I specially like that I can stream songs from my iPhone through the amp to play along with songs.

The Fender Mustang Micro Amp is a great practice tool! Grab the headphones, hook them into the Micro Amp, plug the amp into your guitar, find the tone you like, stream your favorite backing tracks from your computer, phone or tablet and play until your heart out. It's just that simple! The best part? The police aren't showing up at your door because it's 2:00am! Seriously, my wife loves my Mustang Micro because when I'm playing my guitar in the next room it's like I'm not playing my guitar in the next room! I Just bought this amp two weeks ago.
I believe this little amp is good... but not as good sounding as the Vox amplug2 classic rock. The good news about the Fender amp is that it is rechargeable...can I get a hallelujah. It's also very portable (but so is the Vox) and the Bluetooth capability would make anyone give this a higher rating than I did.
Now the bad news...You have twelve amps to choose from (which is nice) but on any of the amp settings there is NO gain control, so your stuck with whatever amp you pick and then cannot adjust it to your taste. You do however, have an EQ button but this feature mostly just changes the tone...light dark etc...(still no real control).
Also, you cannot choose just one effect or add anymore to the amp or even adjust the parameters of the effects. The effects are hardwired into the device. The modify button does a poor job at adjusting any of the effects you choose...and still...there is NO real control over the effects on an independent level. Another negative feature is that it's plastic so IMO, and I never say this because I believe these are rip offs...GET THE WARRANTY. If they are anything like the Vox Amplug2 series they will break with everyday use in 3-6 months (at the jack the weakest point). I have purchased at least 20 of the amplug2 amps (a couple still work) over the last 12 years and the Mustang Micro Mini, is every bit as fragile as any of the other handheld amps.
In conclusion, and IMO, it's not a bad little unit. It just needs better features and more control over the amps and effects. Even so, I will most likely keep it for the bluetooth and the rechargeable feature. Keep trying Fender you are 50% there. Peace.

While I have multiple amps and pedals to play through, I have always loved the luxury of not being tied down with cables. For years, I've used the Vox amPlug and it served its purpose well enough but the Fender Mustang Micro is leaps and bounds better in every single capacity! Like, knowing what I know now, I'd have paid two or three times the price for it. The amp quality and clarity is unbelievable and the effects and controlling/modifying (while basic) is still effective. It's really opened up new creativity in my writing. I 100% recommend the Fender Mustang Micro! The '65 Deluxe setting is perfection!

First, ensure you have a good set of headphones. Cheap earbuds will disappoint...

Then, you'll understand how great this thing really is. My family isn't being blown away by my combo amp, and I can play along to any song on my phone.

Tons of sound options, and the modeling isn't bad. I use it for practice and keeping the peace at home. It's perfect for what I need.

I received this fantastic micro amp today and after a couple of hours of enjoying the awesome sound, I am about as elated as I can get. The reviews and video demonstrations are spot on. I take many mini vacations and packing around a rather heavy amp is not a lot of fun. This little gem is the only way to go for me. I was a little skeptical about ordering the amp but now I am still in awe of just how amazing it is. And, again I have to give 5 stars to Sweetwater, and Andy Rice my Sales Engineer. I could not be more satisfied with my experience with Sweetwater and this amp.

I bought it on a Tuesday, took it back on Sunday. Wasn't what I thought it would be. Overhyped. Swivels too much in my input jack on my Bass. Somewhat awkward for my taste,but,to each his own. Not bad price wise,but,I returned it for a refund because I know I would probably rarely use it.

I was surprised at the sound quality coming from a small amp. The variety of tone selection gives you a little bit of everything. Being able to charge it instead of changing batteries makes it easier and convenient for hours of play time. The bluetooth connected easy giving me the ability to play with backing tracks. I wanted a solution for playing in an amp outside on my patio, downstairs of my house and on the road. I tried this based on great reviews, I did not realize how good it was until I plugged it in. I was met with the sweet Fender clean sound that warns the soul. I got goosebumps when I played (I'm not that good but the amp is). There are a number of options for amps and effects that make this versatile but not option paralysis.
When inspiration strikes in the middle of the night or you want to hide somewhere to play this is the product for you. When plugged into a Stratocaster, the sound is angelic. This is a must have for ALL guitar players.

I got this for late night playing. This unit has some nice sounds; it sounds plenty good enough to enjoy playing. The bluetooth streaming is wonderful - I can play music from my phone, and play along to it on the Micro. This is a great tool that allows me to play even when others are sleeping or working at home. Fender came out with this at the right time for me.

As far as the audio quality goes, this little amp sounds great. The only problem I had with it was that on my Fender Strat I couldn't get it to face me properly so I could see the controls. I solved the problem by plugging the amp into a series of two right-angle adapters (that I also purchased from Sweetwater). Then I attached the little cheat sheet that comes with it to the back with some double-stick tape, and now I can easily see the controls and know what I'm doing. If it were not for the inflexibility of the plug, I would have given the amp a 5-star rating.

My consensus is the same as all the other reviews, it's very good product. Two draw backs however. First, the side buttons should be on the front and the volume on the side so that way it's easier to see the LED's while choosing options and second, it's a product you travel around with so it should have come with a small protective bag.

I still find it hard to get through my brain that this little thing has 12 different amp sounds with 12 different effects for each, plus several modifications for each as well. Holds charge well and charges quickly. Not much bigger than a large pack of gum and about the same weight. Great job Fender!

Pros: No snap crackle pop when you plug stuff in or turn the pots. Solidly built. Amazing functionality.

Cons: when it's plugged into my Traveller Guitar, I can't see it because the jack is on the back of the guitar.

For those of us who are of a certain age, and remember how STUNNING the Rockman was when it came out (and now realize how not-so-great it actually sounds!), the Mustang Micro Amp is nothing short of a gift from the gods. A huge array of amps, and a really fun and diverse array of effects, all balancing that touchy mix of convenience, size, flexibility, and (most importantly) quality.

The good:
- Great build quality. Tiny, but solid!
- Unbeatable price. Stunning, really.
- Intuitive. Yes, it behooves you to read the online manual, and consult the "cheat sheet" that comes with the amp. But once you go through it, it's hard to not "get".
- Variety. A number of amps, plus a pure direct tone ... the Fender amps seem to be the best models (as you'd expect), but there are so many amp choices (x5, if you rifle through the tone variations for each amp) it's a crazy luxury in something THIS small and THIS affordable. Then there are the effects. Fender has done a great job of balancing "variety" with "ease of use". Is there everything under the sun here? Of course not. But is there more than enough to inspire you? Yessir! I have particularly enjoyed the inclusion of the modulated reverb, harmonic tremolo/reverb, and slapback delay/reverb settings.

The "needs work":
- If there is one "must have" in the next version of this, it's a gain knob. Because only certain amps come with overdrive/distortion built into the sound, and everything is digital so that gritty tones are not obtainable from the Fender amp types just by cranking them up (or the gain level can't be "downsized" on the "dirty" models), there's a certain limitation. There appears to be space on the "volume" side of the device for another dial ... please Fender, give us a gain control!

Other item of note: I wouldn't use this for recording because I like to record "old school" with mic'd amps, but certainly the flexibility others have noted in how it interacts seamlessly with common recording software tools is a great selling point. Just not my personal bag.

All in all ... totally worth the small amount of $$$. I know my wife is LOVING that I now have a silent practice amp.

I own a Helix Lt and the Waza-Air. Each has their merits, and I can't stress that enough. But they both require quite a bit of tweaking to get a good sound. I end up spending a lot of my practice time just messing with settings. The Mustang Micro is exactly the opposite. Fender did a great job covering all the bases with just a few amps and effects. Each of them is very playable, no tweaking needed. The bluetooth works well, I haven't had it disconnect once. And it is extremely easy to connect to a computer for recording.

I liked it enough that I bought one for my dad, who is an absolute technophobe. It's perfect for him. He has done more playing in the past few weeks than he has in years.

If you want something that can make a billion different sounds, get a Helix. If you want a 100% wireless surround sound experience and don't mind fighting with the most unintuitive app with constant disconnects, get the Waza-Air. But if you want something that gets you playing right away, the Mustang Micro is the way to go.

I play a lot at home. I'm a guy who has guitars all over. I'll randomly grab my Taylor or Dobro as I walk by. I use my electrics when the house is empty. Since the pandemic, "empty" is a "rarity" with people working from home. I saw an Instagram bit with Pete Thorn using this little device. Taking his great sounds with a grain of salt…it's Pete Thorn in his home studio! I order one knowing if it was awful I could turn it right around. I'd been using the Vox Amplugs into a Zoom box with headphones for quiet electric. This Maverick Micro blows the Vox into the weeds! Much better sounds! The only reason it gets 4 stars rather than 5 is the effects parameters aren't the greatest. But! The Fender sounds are killer into headphones and the Bluetooth connectivity is so convenient. Nothing is better than my amps and pedalboard. But, this thing is great at what it does. I'm pleased and recommend it as a headphone amp.

The micro mustang allows me to practice in silence. The amplifiers, eq settings, effects and modifiers are also inspirational, making the MM a great writing tool. The Bluetooth function allows me to play along to a piece I am learning. I did not expect the MM to be so awesome, but it really is. The price is amazing for what you get.
I highly recommend the Fender Mustang Micro.

Really hard to believe this thing does everything it does and does it stereo, a real treat in headphones! Has that famous Fender clean tone and you can choose to grind all the distortion you can handle. Monsterous sustain that you can blend and use the flanger chorus, delay etc. until either your ears or fingers bleed! At this price the whole unit costs less than most stomp boxes and does dozens of things that stomp box won't. Don't need that pedalboard either. The size of a small remote you can carry it on your jeans or shirt pocket or toss into your gig bag or your guitar case.
I can only say it will be the best money you will spend this year, and everybody I've talked to about call it a "keeper". Get one, get one, get one, get one!

Finally, a convenient sized big sounding and feature rich mini-amp at a very reasonable price. Versatile enough to practice with, experiment with, create with, and record with anywhere, at anytime, and at any volume your ears can stand (NOT recommended). Sure it may not have all the amp voices/effects options available, but with this Mustang Micro I can be playing my guitar in a span of 1 1/2 minutes from inspiration. Even if my wife is watching TV on the couch 5 feet behind me!!!

Incredibly versatile little tool for late night inspiration.

Well made device, lots of great sounds. Perfect practice tool. It can also be very inspiring for the musician that creates. Your playing is right there, every nuance and expression placed right inside your head. Perhaps a little more tweaking on instructions of how to pair with other devices and I would have given it 5 stars. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

I just got my Mustang today. I was looking for a something to play through while out of the house. I got way more than I bargained for. The amps sound cool with a nice balance between keeping it simple and still being able to dial in a sound. The Bluetooth worked first time. Plugged it in, turned on Spotify and I was instantly jamming. I was expecting something "good enough" to practice scales and arpeggios but this is so much better!

Decided on these because of the fact you can connect to your phone via Bluetooth and get both the guitar and music through the amp. They are exactly what I needed. I can go anywhere inside or outside the house and practice. You're not going to get the perfect sound you want out of these, but that's not what I go for when I'm practicing anyway. I just want it to sound close enough. And these do the job. Plus you can get the bass to sound good enough as well. I just can't say enough good things about them, already got a few of my friends to buy in as well. If you're in the same situation, go ahead and pick these up. You will not be disappointed.

I have had the micro for a little over two weeks. All I can say is I really like it. The different amps,and effects sound great to me. I am using a pair of grado headphones with it. Great for practicing and you need to keep the volume down. I can play while my wife watches tv or working with no complaints. If you need to play in a quiet mode sometimes but still want great amp tones, get it. I have charged it once after initial charge. Battery seems to last longer then advertised.

Fender created a very nice tool for jamming and practicing at home. I'm not a Fender aficionado or anything, mostly using Yamaha and Line 6 products, but had Fender products in the past. With this Micro headphone amp, Fender has a great hit on their hands.

I'm getting very credible, rich sounds, easy recording to DAW (using Logic on a Mac), bluetooth connection works perfectly fine on my Android phone, control on device are pretty basic, which is a good thing. I'm still getting used to fumbling a bit with the placement of the swivel input jack, since I don't pay a Stratocaster style guitar, but for Strats, reaching and seeing the controls would be even easier.

The most important attribute of this product is the very realistic capture of the amp, effect and EQ settings. It's incredible how credible and awesome sounding are the onboard amps and effects. So many uses for this little device too. I'm mainly using it with open-back headphones, but it sounds excellent plugging into FOH and PA systems.

At this price point I'm extremely happy with what I'm hearing and the usability of the Mustang micro. I would recommend it again and again, there's tons to like and not much to dislike here.

I got this amp as an impulse buy, not expecting that much from it. I thought it would be decent, but I was pleasantly surprised that its a lot better than that. Navigating the settings on the device, with their color coded LED's is just OK. Could be better... perhaps a bit larger. That's the only downside that I have seen. The tones are REALLY surprisingly good. I'm using them with a pair of Sony noise cancelling headphones and the tones this little device puts out are really good. I think what surprised me the most is with the higher gain amp sims you rolling off the guitar volume really reacts like it's plugged into an amp. The tones clean up nicely and then you can crank you volume for full gain fun. I did NOT expect this device to respond that well to the guitar. Only other issue I have had is bumping the large volume knob while I am playing. I'll have to come up with a solution to that. Is it work a hundred bucks? Yeah, I think it is. I don't think you'll be disappointed with that money spent for what it is. Oh, and on my headphones, the thing gets LOUD. Bluetooth paring works just fine with my Android phone. I can't speak to battery life yet, but I have been playing with the thing for a day or two and have not even charged it up yet, so....

This is a great practicing tool for all levels of guitar playing!

This little portable amp is awesome and a complete game changer. I often have to learn songs with little time for practice. This lets me do that just about anywhere. It's compact design, Bluetooth, and huge sound is amazing and very useful to me. I would give it a complete 5 stars if you could connect to it with Bluetooth headphones as well. Otherwise, its amazing!!!!

Grab your favorite monitoring cans, plug them up, and blaze like you were in your live rig. This thing is the answer I've needed for a long time (because my stage rig doesn't have a simple headphone patch).

I thought this would be handy for quiet practice. It is... and so much more. Using a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter, you can run this to a PA for some surprisingly good results. It is a lot of tone options for a small investment.

I am so happy with this device. Excellent amp sounds and effects. Great for silent practice. One of the best purchases I have made in a while. In the future I would like to see the same device that would accept Bluetooth headphones to eliminate the pesky wired headphones that sometimes gets caught in the guitar strap.

This little guy is invaluable to the shredder within any apartment or ear shot of a family member. Amazing effects, sounds, amps, and what have ya's. If youre going to purchase this you might as well look into a 1/4 adapter with an extra cable. I did and now it seems like common sense. Now, while playing, the amp doesn't get bumped and the volume controls stay right where they are, and I can comfortably shred not 4-5 feet away.

For the longest time I had a setup in my living room that consisted of:

1 VOX amp VT 40+
1 Wireless headset
1 Noise suppressor
1 XViv transmitter and receiver

All so I could play in the living room and not disturb anyone. All in all not a bad setup, except the amount of room it took. And the headphones were a little clumsy.

Since my stage amp is a Fender Twin reverb, I get as close to the sound as I ever have without all of the hardware.
The effects are great, the amp models are great.

I was trying to find something that they could do better........ Maybe wireless earbuds?? Naw, too much delay through bluetooth.

I didn't expect much, but the amp simulations are quiet decent (remember, this is just $ device for practicing). I haven't experienced any lag so far using the Bluetooth connection for backing tracks. The mobility (no cables, no moving of heavy gear) is really awesome, this has always annoyed me when practicing in a sitting position on a sofa.

This thing is incredibly versatile and lets you play anywhere. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the 1/8 jack for output. It would be nice to be able to go straight to an amp without a adapter. It's trivial at best. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who plays guitar. Can't lose at $

Certainly convenience was the main motivation for the purchase and at the price it wasn't difficult to take a chance on trying it out. The question as a guitar player is always how good will it sound compared to my favorite options?

Great practice Amp!!

This little thing is perfect for traveling and practicing. I was looking for a way to practice playing while I was in the office on a lunch break or even late at night without worrying about waking the house and this works perfectly. You're not going to get a full Helix array of amp models or effects, but the basics are there and they sound good (provided you are using decent headphones I'm sure). Being able to pair it with my phone and play songs through it while I jam along is my favorite feature. 10/10 would recommend!

This thing is really incredible, especially when synching backing tracks with your phone. I can hear myself so clearly, I feel like it's making me a better rhythm player.
The only minor issue I have with it is that it sits pretty awkward on telecasters and led Paul's, I much prefer playing it on my strat.
I imagine this would be great for young guitarists, but it's good for me to play at night and not wake my wife up. Heck even my dad wants one.

First of all this is the best headphone amp I've ever heard. Love the ability to switch between amp models. If anything maybe too much choice for tone options!

The delay effects are not so great because the mod strength button only controls the amplitude of the delay effect, not the time delay. I would strongly prefer it the other way around. That is, I would gladly give up control of delay strength to get control of delay timing. Of course I want both. The MOD function does actually control the delay time only on the 2290 delay effect, but I don't like that particular effect.

Another surprising issue is that the amplifier seems to latch up when I use it with the under-saddle piezo pickup on my Risa Solid electric ukulele. It's a direct output piezo with super-high impedance and no pre-amp. It's definitely not an impedance matching issue at audio frequencies because the Mustang Micro will work fine with it for like 2mins then crap out. It seems to be more like the amp input stage latches up due to charge accumulation. On such a high impedance pickup (>10MΩ) there is no built-in discharge path like a magnetic coil pickup provides (the coil effectively shorts together the terminals at sub-audible frequencies). So I soldered a 100kΩ fixed resistor across the piezo output on my Risa uke to provide a discharge path that doesn't significantly attenuate my signal -- see photo. After that everything plays just fine. Seems to confirm my charge accumulation hypothesis. But VERY surprised that Fender did not put a simple

Playing till 2am regularly. I bought a tc electronics tone print amp a few months ago but with the tone print I get "ear fatigue". With this Micro, I can listen for literally hours. Sounds more analog than digital. Like the big volume control that also controls the Aux volume. Bluetooth is solid with my iphone. Gain works like an amp, the louder it hits the Micro, the more dirt. Back it off and it cleans up. And no pedals... totally self contained! Sound is really as good as everyone is saying. It's loud like a "car horn" and "blooms" like my Soldano tube combo. TO FENDER: Get rid of the flanger and replace with 5 position variable EQ that "scoops" the mid-range (to go with the high gain settings) and then this would be perfect. When you first walk around with this thing it is an "ah ha" moment... freedom! Much easier to use than my line 6 floor board. Effects are in stereo. Line out to my Bose L1 compact sounds great. Got it because I've always wanted the clean reverb-y sounds of a Fender DeVille or Hot Rod and I am not disappointed. Play with G&L F100 (humbuckers).

This is a fairly new product and after reading recent reviews I finally decided to purchase one. As an audio engineer I was absolutely blown away with the sound quality. There is virtually no noticeable latency and the patches/bluetooth deliver quality loud sound through the headamp. Just wow! It litterally sounds as good as my custom rig.

Love the concept of the little box where you just have to plug headphones. Had lot of apps on phones and iPad, always cables and to much stuff to set, not that portable… Here is all I've been waiting for: you plug, you can walk around, you really feel free. Sound is surprising too with my K702, good quality, I felt pleasure playing with it. Won't replace my Princeton, but when the kids are asleep, it's the solution I've been waiting for! Much better than the vox amplug, much cheaper than the Waza air, more mobile than my soundcard.

Amp/FX tones are amazing BUT the Mustang Micro has ONE major flaw: Hissssssssssssss
It has a noise gate of sorts that cuts in/out at trail of chords/notes. Sometimes it's just hissssssss & sometimes it is hisssssss w/a stutter. Hard to fully enjoy device once you hear it. After much research, it seems like all the units have this issue but takes a little bit before your brain picks up on it (certain headphones make it more or less obvious) - you can even hear it in Fender's online demos. It's too bad because the Micro is near perfect otherwise. I hope Fender fixes this w/firmware update but not holding out hope. Might need to be returned.

Best money I've spent! Was looking for a small practice amp. Have several other little pocket transmitters but this blew me away!! Absolutely addicted to it. The sound is phenomenal! Holds the charge forever. Absolutely worth the $!!

I was very skeptical of the Fender Mustang Micro Headphone Amp despite the excellent reviews I read. I bought another type of "Blues" headphone amp a couple of years ago and was totally disappointed with the sound quality. I used it once or twice and now it resides in a drawer somewhere. But the Mustang Micro Headphone Amp amazes me! The sound quality is excellent in my opinion. I use it for when I don't want the family bothered. There are many different sounds you can coax out of it. Of course, coming from Sweetwater it arrived in a day. I like this thing so much that I just suggested it to my oldest friend yesterday morning, and I bought the Mustang 25 watt amp after getting the micro - and I am usually a tube amp snob.
If you are in an apartment or just don't want to intrude on others while you practice, but you want to sound great, this micro amp if the way to go!

Lots of amps and effects. difficult to use for more than practice due to lack of any output except headphones. It can be connected to other sources, but the toolchain is annoyingly complex.

Very easy to operate. My experience, the battery lasts a while 4-6 hours plus. I love the Bluetooth pairing feature which enables me to listen to songs on the phone through my headphones. Portability, ease of use, long battery life and the availability of multi effects/amps is perfect for my situation.

I bought this because, with everybody staying at home while we're waiting for vaccination, I haven't been able to play my electric guitars as much. It very much works as advertised - there are a variety of options in terms of amps and effects - and it's not terribly difficult to get a couple of usable tones. I have not yet plugged it into my Focusrite Scarlett for recording purposes, but hope that will work well, too. What I have been doing is stream music from my phone or computer via the bluetooth (which seems quite robust so far, with very little dropout) and play along. For that purpose, it's better than anything I've used before. Really, the only thing it's missing is the ability to plug into the computer and "tweak" the standard settings (which are not infinitely adjustable on the unit itself.) Really, other than that minor complaint it's a very useful tool for practice and play when you can't be moving lots of air.

I've been playing guitar for over 25 years and this is one of the coolest accessories I've owned. I have a couple kids so it's great when I want to get some practice in at night. The sound quality is amazing and the amp and effect options are impressive. The Bluetooth option is cool too if you want to jam along to some music streaming from your phone.

This is an amazing little amp.
The only reason it is not a 5 out of 5 is you have to retain the small card to decipher the settings.

Just a really cool option for playing with a grumpy partner in the next room. Play through your plugin headphones and join your Bluetooth source (cellphone) to play a backing track and use a seemingly endless combination of integrated amps and effects to get an awesome experience. Rechargeable so you can take it anywhere. At the price it's a must have.

While I was going to buy a different headphone amp I waited for the fender Mustang and it was absolutely the right choice. Not only is the sound great the choice of amp sounds works like a charm!

The best thing is I can hang outside, chill and practice without blowing the neighbors away!

I tried several and the range of voices were limited, I would have had to buy a couple different ones to get the sounds I was looking for. Best micro headphone amp on the market in my opinion.

This does exactly what you'd like it to do, it simulates the sound of 12 different amplifiers and can add in 12 different effects. Each has some level of customization to the sound/affect. You can stream backing tracks from your phone, and play the output via a 3.5mm stereo jack to either a set of headphones, or external speaker.

Battery is rechargeable and offers more then enough power for an extended practice session or many smaller sessions. Charges up via a USB-C (that's the new oval shaped connections) cable that is provided.

All controls are on the unit itself and easily adjustable via a series of next/previous buttons for: amp, eq, effect, effect mod... No need to use a phone or or app to control the device which means this can last long past when your phone dies of the app is no longer available.

I've tried on 2 different guitars (a Stratocaster and a early 90's Ibanez) and it fit perfectly in both.

I'm keeping a half star back because the device will NOT allow you to connect a bluetooth speaker or headset/earbuds... only output is the stereo jack. But that's the only issue I can find so far.

For the price, I highly recommend the Mustang Micro. It offers good sound, a great selection of functionality, lots of convenience, and a fair price.

I have owned a number of these portable guitar effect devices that allow you to play through headphones but include some variable sounds. While my Rockman X100 was my favorite due to the sound, this is absolutely the best one that has ever been made. It is rechargeable, small, featuring an amazing number of amp and effect sounds, and likely fits every guitar out there. The only compromise is the challenge in knowing which amp sound and effect pattern that you are currently using based on so many colors that can look pretty similar. While this presents friction in making quick changes, the positives with this device far outweigh this one negative.

I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to play their guitar without much equipment and especially in situations where you must be quiet. I can only assume that you could use this in any regular playing situation unless you have to play for over six hours without enough of a break to recharge it.

Hard to imagine a more inspiring and enjoyable little object. And it even fits in the little space on my Gibson Melody Maker which has knobs super close to the input. You need one!!!

If you just want a stand alone practice amp, this is great. My time is too valuable to mess with some silly app. The bluetooth connection for the FenderTone app doesn't connect. Neither does the firmware update work. The bluetooth works so you can stream with your phone to play along.

This is a great addition to my guitar equipment. Great little practice modeling amp. The fact that it is Bluetooth enabled just makes it better.

Top of the line for a headphone amp. The only drawback is no wireless headphones but that is far very far outweighed in the sound and usefulness of it. I'd go so far as say it's a good amp for a beginner to use if they need to keep it quiet. Better than an amp with headphones plugged into it.

I got one of these Mustang Micros for my daughter, and after checking it out I got another for myself. Fender have brilliantly employed usb c for power connection; supplyied astoundingly accurate digitally modeled amp sounds; considerately tuned the available EQ ranges to limit extremes; chosen very usable effects/combined effects; included bluetooth connectivity for play-along (but not for broadcast, understandably at this price); and have done all this for under a hundred bucks. Well done! Not only does it not sound like the typical insects-in-your-ear-canal novelty headphone guitar mini-amps of yore, it actually sounds great. I use 'phones, but my room rig now is this into a ZT Lunchbox (via 3.5mm-to-1/4" adapter), and it's perfectly satisfying for the home. Highly recommended!

Wow, talk about a great new amp release! This is it. Had to wait a couple days to get it, but worth the time! This little device creates HUGE sound with everything from shimmering cleans to down and dirty distortion equally well. Have played an SG, Strat, Ovation, Les Paul, and custom Carvin through it and every one sounds amazing. The effects are great and easy to use. The amp models sound very authentic. The volume is excellent, and keeps true to tone even at high volume. There is even a credit card sized reference guide for the features and the indicator lights. The bluetooth is the latest standard, and the music input from my iPhone allows me to play "on the track". My only concern is the limited manipulation of the effects. This is not really an issue for a headphone amp. In fact, the selection of options on this amp far surpass anything else in the class. I just have a very specific combo of chorus and delay/reverb that I really love. This amp comes very close to that preference. I am going to get one or two more for gifts, and one more for a backup. You will not regret getting this little gem. And as always, Bob Mondok took care of everything perfectly, and with his usual attention to detail.

This is a great new piece of gear. It's small, but packs a load of great amp tones and effects and modifications. This is a great practice tool.

This works very nice on my electric guitars, with quite a variety of sounds and effects. i like that it is self-contained, with a volume knob, unlike the NUX mightyplug, which seems to require being connected to a smartphone or such. From what I have seen on youtube, it has a much wider range of sounds than any one of the VOX amplugs. But it doesn't amplify my Travelerguitar nylon string which has an undersaddle piezo pickup. Well, it does, but for a split second,then the sound dies out. Probably it is input impedance mismatch problem. So, it isn't the perfect travel companion.

Love this little headphone amp. I can play at night without disturbing anyone. The effects are ok for me.

Just plug in your headphones and rock! The Micro provides a lot of tone in a small package. It's is perfect for self expression or jamming with tracks without disturbing the boss.

Does not like to stay in place on my Les Paul. Seems to really be designed for that hollow out Jack of a Strat so it has a place to rest. On a flat output it just hangs there.

Loses clarity at high volume which seems to really kill the 65 twin for me. I have a mustang GTX 100 and the 65 twin on that sounds better the louder you play it.

Again all these cons are acceptable for $... Being able to practice scales on the couch is nice too.

Exactly what I wanted from a headphone amp. Easy to use. Sounds great; much better than the headphone out on my amp. Worth using some good headphones or ear-phones.

Other manufacturers should take note of the USB-C, this is very convenient.

I live in a small apartment so low-volume playing is important and this is an awesome solution. Assuming you've got a decent pair of headphones (I use an old pair of Audio Technicas which work great with this but any halfway decent over-ear headphone will be fine) it's going to be a perfect practice/travel amp. The amp models are good, the effects are fun to mess around with, and the usb-c plug for recharging is nice and convenient. Some of the higher gain amp models buzz a bit but, especially considering the price, still sound pretty good. Given that I have to use headphones more often than not when I play, this is my ideal practice amp and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought it to replace two junk headphone amps I had gone thru, ones that had made me swear off headphone amps ... until, for some reason, I decided to take a chance on this little champ (play on words intended).

Having had a couple of weeks to mess with now, I'm glad I snapped one up. Playing through it and some reasonable quality headphones/earbuds, you could almost forget you're not plugged into an amp on the floor.

The fidelity is happily much truer than what I was bracing for. I was expecting tinny, glassy sounding. Nope. Sounds like credible guitar tones. And there's something for everyone: clean to raunchy-dirty, reverb, delay and chorus etc. I don't mean to sound like a shill, but the stuff IS in the gizmo, so ...

One knock on the overall design/shape of the device: If you plug in directly to an SG, you're not going to be able to rotate the device 360, which would make reaching the controls on the fly a little more user-friendly. As it is now, the tone knobs block that full rotation. However, that's NOT a deal-breaker, by any stretch. Just an annoyance not universal to every guitar body.

I'm using it as a practice amp, and I've run my Strat, Tele, LP, SG, and Epis Sheraton and Casino thru it. Personally, I like what it does for my Sheraton, but the SG sounded nice thru it, too. It comes with a credit card-size card with a legend to the amp configurations/effects etc. (Take a pic of it as a backup to guard against losing it.) The amp's bluetooth was quick to sync with a 2020 iPhone SE and 2019 iPad. Haven't tried USB into computer yet.

Buying advice: Get one. But maybe wait until Memorial Day, or Fourth July or Labor Day or end of year for a sale price. The $99 price isn't abominable (OK, it's a bit of splurge), but it's hard to ignore that this gadget might not be an essential piece of gear.

Received as a birthday gift this past weekend... and took it fir a test drive at 2:30 AM. Wow. I purchased the original POD and a Pandora PX4 years ago. Amazing how far modeling has come. While just beginning exploring this, my fav so far is the Twin and Bluesbreaker models. Effects are very usable, esp the reverbs and slap back delay. The only minor criticism so far is C'mon Fender... how hard is it to provide a manual ? That aside, first impressions are incredible portability, and very very usable sound in a compact, go anywhere, play any hour self contained unit. Plug and play anytime... the way it should be. Good job Fender.... this will to many many nights of use.

Without a doubt the best $... dollars I've spent in regards to practice gear. This thing sounds incredible for my late night practice sessions while the kids sleep. Call Sweetwater and ask for Mike Wright, you won't regret it!

With no menu or app you can get where you want to go in seconds (I would need half an hour with a new Zoom or Line 6 pedal to get anywhere close). Compact and well thought out with the controls you want to see facing you. It sounds great and works well into headphones, a Bose Soundlink Color II, my guitar amp aux input, and a QSC CP8. With no pre gain control I needed to back off my guitar's volume to get clean tones with anything other than the Twin Reverb. However the 65 Deluxe and hall reverb are an ideal pair for clean to overdrive using my PRS McCarty Thinline's volume controls. I'm not a high gain player and don't have the experience to judge those models.

I like to play very early in the morning before work. My mind is fresh and ready to go. This little amp sounds great,there is no compromise. This is the single best musical purchase that I have made. If you are looking for an amp with plenty of tones and need headphones, this is it.

Getting back into playing guitar after MANY years away. Wanted an easy way to practice that doesn't have me dragging out a bunch of equipment. Its small, sounds great, has just enough options, and doesn't require you to have a smart-phone handy to operate it. Recommending it to all my friends that play and may even get one for my daughter to use with her electric violin. :)

First off, this thing sounds beautiful. Tested it on all my guitars and it makes even the cheap ones sound good. It's so convenient to use and I don't have to worry about volume bothering my wife or neighbors. I've been playing through apps on my phone and tablet using headphones and this blows them all out of the water. Super portable and easy to use and a huge range of mods and sounds to play with. Worth every penny.

I got this for myself to use with my 5 string Bass, and for my daughters to use with their guitars and a violin with electric pickups. The sound is great from anything we've plugged it into, with multiple options for exactly what amplifier you're trying to emulate and what effects you want in play.

Build quality is great and it's easy to use, though keep the little card handy so you know what each of the color coded lights mean. Bluetooth in has been great for practicing, though I did misread the description originally and it doesn't do Bluetooth -out-. However, it does do USB out with the USB C plug so you can record directly on your computer.

More experienced players can give you a better idea of how it compares and what instruments it's best for, but to my still-a-new-player ears it's pretty awesome.

This thing is the best. Went from 3 cords plugged into my amp and being tied up 3 feet away from the amp to jammin on my couch/walkin around. You can still plug this bad boy into an amp or computer speakers via the headphone jack. Fits on all my guitars/basses. Even ones with wonky input jack placement.

I play mostly Clean guitar (Fender American Ultra Strat, Gibson Les Paul Studio, Fender Mustang L25 Amp), so for me, just the first 3 amp models of this micro amp would be of use to me. The 9 other distortion amp models, to me, sound a bit garbagey. I use Bose Quiet Comfort II headphones.
The 3 EQ settings are subtle at best, there is no tone control to reduce the high treble sound. To me, playing on the neck pickup sounds like playing on the bridge pickup, and playing on the bridge pickup sounds very tinny with the Strat. The Les Paul sounds a little more natural, but very bright sounding as well. This unit I guess has a lot of toys built in, but I just can't get a good natural guitar sound out of it. I have a VOX Clean micro amp, and it sounds much better. You have simple Gain, Tone, and Volume with a few reverb effects, but it eats batteries.
I bought this unit because it has a rechargeable battery, which other micro amps don't have.
I think this amp is better suited to guitarists who like playing with a lot of distortion.

Don't confuse this with the fizzy, winged insect sound-producing headphone amps of yore. This thing has hugely satisfying tones and a decent level of control for shaping amp models and effects parameters. Big bonus is interface ability, and usb c is good thinking, Fender people. Within a week it's become a key piece of gear in my daily routine. Well done!

Super impressed. Just over twice the $ of Amplug, but easily 5x as good in sound quality, not to mention yet the great sounding effects. The best practice tool too - playing away without wondering if you are ever bothering anyone in the house AND actually get to enjoy the sound!

I live in a city so this little guy is my dream come true. Streaming my laptop while being able to play my guitar over headphones is just awesome. The Friedman and EVH channels sound are nice and crunchy. For $... this is a no brainer.

Have had this for a few days now and pretty impressed. I've had a couple of Amplugs previously and, more recently, I had a pair of Boss Waza Airs for more than a year. The Wazas, being completely wireless, were super convenient. But I really never liked how they sounded. I did a lot of tweaking and eventually set up the global eq to overcome their inherent muddiness, but still wasn't great. This little Fender, with a pair of Shure SE215 monitors, sounds lightyears better. Clearer, brighter, richer... night and day. More comfortable too. I also tried my AKG K240s and they also sound good... if not quite as good or nearly as loud as the Shures. In addition, I'm not a fan of "apps" and delving down the settings rabbit hole. I'm an IT professional and do plenty of that for work. Like my guitar gear simple and clean. Four led marked rockers on this thing and I already can jump between my favorite setups without looking. Also works great as an interface to Garage Band on my Mac(Wazas don't) and one more huge, but so far unmentioned advantage... you can run a cable from the Mustang Micro to any powered speaker with an aux input. I have several, including a JBL Charge 4 ...and with that the Mustang sounds great and is super convenient... like having a little battery powered combo amp as a bonus. Love it. It's not my Blues Jr and pedals, but for silent or quiet practice, it's a huge win.

Probably the best $ amp of any sort, right now. CAN CONFIRM that you can also play through a little bluetooth speaker with an aux cable. I used mine with a jabra charge 4, and it works great. Guitar, amp, headphones, and speaker, can all go inside a gig bag. What a world.

CRITICAL FEEDBACK: Fender's done an outstanding job, but there is room for improvement. I think that the biggest thing they could do, is move the volume control to the side, to free up the top space for better eq adjustment. Most people, like me, will simply leave the amp volume at max, and leave all real time volume adjustment to the guitar's control knob. If I could relocate the volume, to a simple button, on the side, that would free up the entire top face for bass, mid, and treble, adjustment. Seriously, they could make this amp twice as thick, with more options, and it would still fit in your pocket, so why not? The eq is the only thing I wish I had more control over.

Ok, so I pre ordered and finally received the micro last week. It came well packaged. I got it out and plugged it in to charge. After charging for several hours, I gave it a test run. Works ok. The only downside I see is there is no manual, other than a credit card type list of effects and amps and little colored dots, which I take to be if you get that color, you get that amp or effect. Downside is, you have to really play around with it to get where you want to be. Add to that, the indicator is very hard to see when plugged into a guitar with the jack on the lower bout. Many guitars are that configuration I think. A manual would help to know were you want to be and how to get there. I went to Fender's website and they do not have a manual. That lack of a manual leads to give this product just three stars. I will continue to noodle aroound with it.

Right off the bat, let me state that this little thing sounds incredible with a bass, and a high-end active 5-string will not overdrive it. It's pretty hard to believe, after decades of practice amp disappointment and not-the-good-kind clipping. I've run it through its paces at the full range of its volume with both a passive Reverend Rumblefish and an active Modulus, both 35" 5-strings, as well as a Danelectro 66 BT baritone guitar. Most of the guitar amp models and reverby effects aren't quite what a bassist would want, but the Studio Preamp setting is as good a DI sound as I've heard on any digital device. The settings stay put when the unit is shut off and come right back when switched on, for some nice consistency. Once I managed to find the Mustang Micro Owner's Manual on the Fender site I was able to parse the finer points of this unit's tweakage, Bluetooth pairing and firmware updating. I sure could have used this 35 years ago in my road touring days, but it'll make a dandy pandemic pal for right now.

This little thing makes my guitar sound so good! I've only had it for a day, but I am loving this thing so far. I love how easy it is to use. Switching amps and effects is really simple and straightforward. The Bluetooth feature is great as well. I can connect it to my computer or phone and throw on a backing track to jam out to or put on a metronome. all while my wife sits a foot feet away watching her shows undisturbed by her wannabe rockstar husband. Definitely worth the money, imo. Wish they had things like this when i first started playing.

The Mustang Micro is an awesome little amp. I've only had it for a couple of days, but the range of amp models and effects is impressive and the ones I've been able to try so far sound great through a pair of AKG 240s. Connected via Bluetooth to my laptop, it's easy to have a quiet practice session on the lesson services I use. The controls are simple and intuitive, and it even has some rubber bumpers on the back to keep it from damaging the body of your guitar. Very well thought out design!

You'll have to download the manual from Fender, as it doesn't come with a printed one, but it does come with a little wallet card that tells you which amps and effects are associated with each color of LED. (I laminated it to keep it from getting damaged - pro tip!)

Allow me to preemptively state the obvious: Some compromises are necessary when packing so much tech into such a small unit, and keeping it easy to use. I think Fender did an excellent job fitting the Mustang Modeling engine into a headphone amp, and that the unit provides a useful diversity of amps and effects combinations to suit most needs. I consider it a major improvement over the Amplug series (which I do not denigrate, as they did the job for years for me, and were very good for their time).

The Mustang micro really shines in recreating the tones of the Fender Amps (57 Twin, 65 Twin, 65 deluxe, and Bassman 15). The Vox, Marshall, and Mesa tones are pretty decent as well.... not really a fan or user of high gain, so I can't provide an opinion on the four high-gain models (bassman 15, Uberschall, Friedman, and EVH 5150 inspired voices).


The effects combinations (12 in all with the option to bypass) limit flexibility but are well-configured, sound good, and impressively diverse for a small unit with limited control interfaces. You can tweak one parameter for each preset (trem rate, vibe rate, reverb level, delay level, chorus or flange depth) or choose to bypass altogether. Again, for a small unit with little space for controls, and likely limited processing and memory, this is a pretty good compromise. The studio pre-amp is serviceable for bass, and worked nicely with my Aria Sinsonido nylon-string silent guitar.

That brings me to my one, minor gripe: You don't have any control of the gain stage, which is preset, and immutable on all of the models. This is a little aggravating, as I was used to being able to dial gain up or down on my Vox Amplug. If there was one feature I wish they had included on this unit, it would have been an adjustable gain setting.

They have 5 preset EQs to help finesse the tone of the amp. This is probably a better solution than just a tone dial, but still limits tone shaping... though that is a reasonable compromise on a small unit such as this, and maybe the best possible solution.

Battery life is pretty impressive... 5 hours+ and still kicking. They have included indicators to let you know roughly what the battery status is, from over 50% (flashing green) Under 50% (Flashing yellow) and under 20% (flashing red). 5 hours had me at flashing yellow. Not sure how long it takes for a full recharge.

Overall impression: The Mustang Micro offers a decent selection of modeled amp tones, a useful variety of effects, and great battery life. Control of parameters is limited, but compromises had to be made and Fender made some pretty good choices there. My only real gripe is lack of control over gain for amp models.

It would have been nice to have had an option for expanded control over parameters via bluetooth connection from phone or tablet, but I am assuming there are reasons Fender did not opt for this. Still, easy to recommend.. lots of functionality for the price.

This headphone amp is simply put, amazing. It sounds SO good, I was shocked. Deluxe and 70s British are my favorites so far, but I've got a lot more tinkering to do. I have an orange crush 20rt and some pedals, and I can confidently say this amp sounded better right of the box than my carefully curated rig. Super easy to use and every setting sounds great. Other reviewers have commented this could be product of the year and I agree. And at that price??? Just killer.

This is an awesome practice amp. I was looking for something very portable that I could just use anywhere in the house without having to drag around a big piece of equipment. This thing fits the bill perfectly. It has a wide variety of amps and effects so I can play anything from surf guitar to 70's rock to modern metal. I'm looking forward to using this to run through my warm up when I play at open mic.

After watching NAAM videos and reading the PDF manual, I surmised the Micro would replace my Amplug AC30, Clean, and Bass units. Upon receiving the Micro, my synopsis was accurate. Ironically, there is a Vox AC30 model, but no drums as the Amplug Bass has. Most amps are appropriately Fender from clean to crunch.

Nevertheless, scalability is possible in future firmware as Fender promises incremental updates, perhaps to address user input and trends. As of this writing, the Micro is fairly stellar and has mono effects with some stereo reverb and delay.

The included small reference card will likely suffice for most players. The card lists color codes, Amps, Effects, and Modify. The PDF manual can be downloaded from Fender. A short USB-C cable is included.

Overall, a sonically well-contrived product and ergonomic to a Strat with minimal protusion on side jacks.

Lots of great presets, and so portable ! Effects sound great, and amp models give you just about any tone you're looking for. Just plug it in and play, 1/8" headphone jack lets you use your favorite pair of headphones to hear both your instrument and bluetooth streaming music to play along with. Big sounds in a small package !

This is probably the most useful bit of equipment I've ever purchased. I was super excited about this and ordered it the first day Sweetwater had them in stock (which I never do). I couldn't put it down yesterday. All of the amps sound great, it's super easy to connect something via bluetooth for music or backing tracks, and it really does just plug and play as an interface. For anyone wondering, it does record the Bluetoothed-in audio with your guitar when that's playing. You also have to hold the On/Off switch in the BT position to make it start looking. The only thing that I wish was a different was that a longer USB cable was included so it would be more comfortable to record. Not even going to take it down a half star for that though. This is so so good.

I got this after seeing the glowing early YouTube reviews and am not disappointed. This is way beyond my Vox Amplug or any other similar plug-in micro amp. The tone is fantastic but what really sets this thing apart is the responsiveness of the modeling chip. I can get a nice edge of breakup sound on this more easily than just about anything I own, other than my AC10, but of course I can't do that in the living room with the kids doing homework next door. Fender also hit the right balance between a wide range of options and too much complexity. You just scroll through the models and scroll through the set menu of effects. Yes, you can only choose one effect at a time but it's a very thoughtful lineup of effects that will probably meet the needs of 95% of recreational guitar players. I've pretty much just been staying on the modulated reverb through the Twin; so sweet! And there are, I think, three levels of the effect rather than a rheostat. Again, not an infinite range of options but super-simple and effective. If you are in the market for a practice amp and are after that ephemeral "just right sound at bedroom levels," this is it. Bluetooth playalong is a nice bonus feature. The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones I got probably help, but I needed some good wired headphones anyway. As always, Aric was super helpful and Sweetwater fulfillment was on top of things. I thought I might wait weeks for the Micro, but it came about 10 days after my order. Awesome!

I gotta say I was apprehensive about grabbing one of these but I couldn't be happier. The convenience of just popping it into a guitar as opposed to setting up/cleaning up amps and pedals is just awesome. Some of the amp settings I don't care for but it's diverse and the ones I do play on I LOVE. Pretty much the same with the effects, some are great and some don't do it for me but you can have a lot of fun with this and I think it's well worth the money especially if you live in a smaller space.

Just recieved the Fender Micro amp today. My first impression is that it seems easy to use and appears very well made. Playing the Micro with a telecaster was joyfull and the quality of the amp models are fantastic using simple Sony headphones. I enjoyed playing in stereo. The blue tooth allowed me to jam with Skynard and was really simple to operate. Great service from Sweetwater and Cody Priester.

This is my new favorite bass accessory! Great tone in a tiny package, nice onboard effects, AND you can play along to your music over Bluetooth! Great sound, awesome battery, small form factor, simple controls, and good features. There is A LOT baked into this small, inexpensive package. A dream come true!

I have another high-end headphone amp and this will likely take its place for practice and learning songs. I used to try playing bass through my amp at low volumes or playing with the headphone amp to avoid disturbing my family and neighbors. Connecting the guitar, headphones, and aux in -- plus power if you don't have a battery -- takes a lot of cables. This thing makes all the cables disappear (except for one!), and still produces solid tone for practice! Stream music to it from your phone and play along! I skeptical that it would sound good with bass, but it is just what I need!

If that wasn't enough, it has tons of amp and effects options that sound very nice! It is easy to use, has lots of tonal options without being cumbersome, is ultra portable... Fender has a winner with this one.

From Clean to Mean in a couple of clicks. Amps and effects sound authentic to my ears. My favorite cleans from the Twin and Deluxe , add some reverb and delay and it's sublime in stereo (headphones of course). For rocking out the FBE with tape delay and reverb is fantastic. Another favorite so far is the Deluxe with Tube Screamer. A versatile device with a wide amp selection and effects for quiet practice or jamming.

The Fender Mustang Micro should be product of the year!
Have been on a quest to find the best sounding ultra portable headphone practice solution.
Tried the following: Amplug, iRig HD2, Yamaha THR, Blackstar Fly3, Nux Mighty Plug.

Unfortunately, none of the above solutions made things simple because they required apps, multiple cords, were too big, too costly or just didn't sound great.

The ultimate test is how good the amp models sound and the Mustang Micro does not disappoint: Owning a Deluxe Reverb, Princeton & 59' Bassman - I can attest the Mustang Micro sounds amazingly amp-like (sounds as good as my Strymon Iridium).
