An update that's been asked for... for decades.

By Caius Madison from NV on January 5, 2022 Music Background: Performer of music, upon the stage my good friends of Sweetwater!

This particular Mustang was received as a gift in 2020, and I was blown away. I used to own am original 69' in CAR Competition Series, matching head. Main guitar for years. Sadly parted with it. When this arrived, it all came back how much this instrument smokes other guitars in the speed of play, the ease of play, and the undertones department. This guitar has always had major bonuses there, the tone. I can get these harmonics, and these noises from it nothing else can do, and that's just relative to the model. The trem truly has come up to a professional remade version. Much more stable, and should be sold separately due to it. Fantastic tuning stability, when you do your homework, and more range than a Floyd.yes, I can play metal with a little help from a Keeley Filaments quite convincingly, thanks to the higher output from the Alnico V pickups(Yosimite might be a sleeper hit in coming decades, seriously!) which just happen to be my flavor of choice pickup wise. It was destiny, the second I layer hands on it, that I would walk away from the standard, and ride into the sunset, on my Fender Pony! Have the bass too, it's also a banger!

Excellent Guitar

By William Plummer from Brooklyn, NY on February 17, 2021

I bought mine out of nostalgia because my first guitar was a vintage Mustang, but this guitar did not disappoint. The neck is nice and slim and easy to play, the fretwork was done very well, low action with no buzzing, the tremolo is my favorite (I like better than a Jaguar or Jazzmaster, and way better than a Strat style one), and the nice slim body makes it very lightweight and comfortable on a strap. The body is very ergonomic. My only complaint is the sunburst is very dark overall. I'd prefer a traditional 3-color sunburst.

Fender Performer Mustang

I recently purchased this guitar specifically for the shorter scale length and I am glad I did. The workmanship on this guitar is fantastic and it plays extremely easily. It takes almost no pressure to fret a note. The tone and sound quality is also great. I couldn't be happer with this guitar. If your like me and shorter fingers you would be amazed what a difference the shorter scale length makes
