Crumar MojoPedals 13-note MIDI Pedalboard Reviews

13-note MIDI Controller Pedalboard with 3 Footswitches, LED Display, USB Power, MIDI Out, and Expression Pedal Input

Whether you're in the market for a MIDI pedalboard to match your Mojo clonewheel or a robust all-metal foot controller for your MIDI setup, Crumar's second-generation MojoPedals doesn't disappoint. With its 13 velocity-sensitive pedals (one octave) and smooth action, MojoPedals will feel familiar to most organists — and inviting for keyboardists wanting to expand their playing technique. Sweetwater keyboardists have found MojoPedals' three footswitches superbly useful. These let you transpose keys and change octaves on the fly, as well as cycle through patches without lifting your hands. MojoPedals is fitted with a MIDI output for universal connectivity and features a TRS expression pedal port with selectable MIDI CC number. And as a bonus: MojoPedals lets you control the rotary speaker simulator on your Mojo Dual or Mojo 61, eliminating the need for a separate footswitch.

Fantastic MIDI pedal set, with useful easy to use features

By K.B. on July 25, 2023

This pedal set is a great match for Behringer's new Toro which I also own (for that full Taurus bass synth vibe!) as well as other synths, to allow you to play simple melodies (or chords if you use both feet, it's polyphonic) while you play guitar/bass/whatever. This opens up new avenues of creativity for me while jamming by myself. Sure, I could lay down some synth lines in a DAW and then go back and play over that, but I tend to be a pretty improvisational player and having the flexibility of a MIDI pedal setup available to me is quite helpful, to be able to change things up in the moment rather than be locked down to what I recorded previously.

It's very easy to transpose up and down octaves or switch MIDI channels to control different instruments using only your feet.

It seems to be a very solid piece of equipment; metal construction etc. The main method of powering it is via USB, and only a USB cable is provided, so you'll need a spare phone/tablet USB charging brick if you're not powering it via a computer USB port (probably not that big of a deal, most everyone I know has a bunch of extra power bricks laying around so even if you don't have one you might have a friend who can spare one heh.)

Works great

Took me a few mins to figure out how to get them to work. But after reading the organ manual it was simple. Definitely changes the game. They a def a great start if you don't want to pay for a full size set of pedals right away.

Look no further. This is the best one!

This is by far the best midi bass pedalboard. I have been using mine at various concerts playing latin music (salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata, latin jazz, etc) look no further. This is the one.

Buy with confidence..

I've had the MojoPedals for about 2 years, and no problems whatsoever. I've used them for studio use, and gigs.
My only complaint is that the spacing is a little too close for my feet. Since my feet are wide, I sometimes
accidentally hit the adjacent note by accident. I resolved the issue by putting the unit on on a cart with wheels
that I can move to various keyboards, and activate the pedals with my hand. It works pretty good.

Bring your own PSU and MIDI Cable

Good piece of kit and very well made. That being said, it's pretty sad that they cannot include a power supply or MIDI cable for you. Discouraging trend which I feel needs to be called out.

Nice pedals filling the Moog Taurus gap

By DrNewcenstein on November 28, 2019 Music Background: Experienced musician

I’ve never used the vaunted Moog Taurus pedals, or any such pedals, really, so my experience with them is limited to these.

I use them with an Alesis QSR to trigger bass tones, and they do that well enough for me. The pedals are big, but not spaced enough to hit without fat-footing the neighboring pedals. You’ll have to stay on your toes.

Dimensionally it’s as wide as a Line6 M13, and about 1.5x as long, so you’ll need some floor space. The MIDI and USB jacks feel solid.

I use a 20 foot USB cable from a power strip that has USB outlets, which, in turn, is on a bigger Furman power brick.
I’m not detecting any latency but them I’m not a robot, either.

The only gripe I have, so far, is the MIDI jack is upside down, which means the indicator found on all MIDI cables, whether a screw or a notch, is useless. It takes two hands to plug in: one to hold the unit up and the other to plug it in.

The top housing is also more narrow than the pedal frame, which means storing it on its side isn’t as stable as I’d like. Ultimately, however, you’d want a case to keep it in. If anyone has a suggestion for one, hit me.

The pedal frame itself seems very sturdy, and sits well below the pedals.

The main housing is metal, and doesn’t feel flimsy, but also doesn’t feel as thick as the aforementioned M13.
I haven’t taken it on a regional club tour, so how it would hold up on the road without a case is not known.

I haven’t used the other features (the switches on the front) but they feel solid. It’s not like you’re going to stomp them, anyway. Just a tap is all it takes.

At first I was put off by the... price tag, and the value-for-money aspect is still being judged, but I didn’t find a better option for less when I was looking.
