Strymon knocks it out of the park again, this fits in well with your analog signal chain and can stack well with existing modulation. Mobius has most if not all of the modulation sounds you need for a compact board as long as you've got space for two traditional pedals. The Rotary is heavenly, and the diverse flanger settings could entertain you till the end of time. One of my favorite investments oat would buy it a morbillion times

Yes it has remarkably good sounds but if you want to dial in and save the 6-12 you'd use consistently on a gig it's extremely difficult. It's like having a Lexus you can't drive because the company decided a steering wheel and front windshield would be too obvious so they installed fly-by-wire digital software that requires several ground controllers to operate.

I can't believe how good this thing is. I'm an old school 80s hard rock lead guitarist and I spent an afternoon doing A/B test with my analog pedals. Against all my analog mod pedals it gets pretty close to them all that I can barely tell much difference, to my ears it really is that good.. The advantage this gives over individual boxes outweighs any subtle differences there are. Less cables less mess on my pedalboard. I absolutely love the rotary and univibe settings. I've bought a few rotary and univibe pedals before and never kept them, but this gets me some very useable tones. Most of the weird effects on the right of the dial I won't need. It cost a lot but a good set of mod pedals will cost a lot more. This really was worth it.

I have been looking for a stereo modulator for years. The Fender Rhodes has a stereo output and the Mobius is
a perfect pairing for it. "Creamy" is how one of my friends described it, and I think that's apt.

The phaser and flanger are just what I had been looking for.

at it's core this is many great pedals in one with wild
features that add up to a lot of fun. if you get into the nitty gritty you can dial this thing in with extremely versatile options. but my favorite thing? just scroll through the presets and turn stuff on and off at random while jamming. when that destroyer comes on it's always a good time.

I bought the Strymon Big Sky and fell in love with it. That unit is amazing and has done so much for my unique sound. Based on my love for the Big Sky I bought the Mobius. The Mobius does exactly what what you'd want a modulation pedal to do but it doesn't have that "thing" for me. I have played and played with it and it just doesn't add enough to my sound/tone for me to be in love with it.

Quality wise it's great. Functionality it's great. If you want a modulation pedal that does what every other modulation pedal does this is a fine choice.

A classic Strymon pedal with vintage sounds.

This unit has everything I personally really need as a Bass player and it sounds amazing. I have the Darkglass Photon for the dirt side of things. The Mobius just covered so many types of useable effects done well in one box.

It also has a couple I will never use most likely, a couple I can likely work with to do something instead of another effect and one I generally never use, except that one time it's the only thing that will work. I like the blacked out look and also grabbed the Strymon Multi Switch. I have it set for preset up/down bypass.

I read that Strymon has shipped all of the Midnight Edition pedals. So if you like the look you should grab one while you still can.

The Mobius is one of Strymon's older pedals at this point, being around 10 years old, but as far as quality and fidelity getting goes, you could easily assume it was a modern release. And I have some of Strymon's newer pedals, including a Zelzah, and both have fantastic fidelity of sound. Unless you knew, you could easily believe they were both released in 2021.

Mobuis = Strymon quality in a multi-effects unit. I mean, that's all you need to know. Go watch YouTube videos. This pedal still holds up amazingly. And like all of Strymon's big box pedals, it's a great deal. Sure, it costs more than most single pedals, but just look at it like it's 12 modulation pedals inside one enclosure... That's a pretty good deal.

By the way, a couple of the lower-rated reviews for Mobius on this site were cracking me up. People rating the pedal low because they personally couldn't figure it out... Because that makes sense... "Man, I got a new car but the thing is junk! I put 3 cans of creamed corn in the tank and now the thing won't start!!"

This is an easy one…it's fantastic! Super flexible, extremely easy to use (unlike other multi-mod pedals), and sounds amazing. Every Strymon pedal has brilliant user experiences. Like I said, it sounds fantastic. I don't know why others are saying it's 2% different from a original phase 90 or bucket brigade chorus. Yeah because it is and that's fine. It simply doesn't matter in a mix or when you're playing that it's not exactly the same. It's so close, I mean really close. I have a lot of those individual effects and I really can't tell the difference. I don't need to tap dance or remember settings. Just select the preset and I'm playing in the moment. If you're tired of tons of individual effects and tapping then do yourself a favor and get one. One feature that is really great is the routing capabilities. Stereo or Pre/Post (which I use). I haven't tried a bad Strymon pedal yet.

Strymon Mobius is simply the best modulation pedal I've ever used. The rotary is stunning, as is the vibe. Add to that all of the interesting effects such as vinyl and you've got all the modulation you could ever want. I see some people complaining about the presets being too wet. Well, there's a knob called "mix"...just turn that one down. Thank you, Strymon!

The mobius has some of the best chorus flang and phase ive evey heard. Very easy to use compared to eventide. Its built like a tank easy to see screen,its worth every dollar to me

Comes in a cool box with 9v adapter. It sounds great out of the box. It has the best chorus ive ever seen. All the effects are very clean sounding and easy to read instructions,built like a tank,and you have full control of all peramaters. Love this pedal,would not take my money back. I was looking for a high quality rotary emulation to play my Yamaha YC61 through. Like many, I love the YC61, except the rotary, which just doesn't cut it for me.

My parameters included good Midi support. That knocked out the Ventilator and virtually all the other currently shipping options, and left only the Strymon Mobius or Wampler Terraform. Sweetwater likes the Terraform, but recommended the Mobius for several reasons:

1) The quality of the Mobius rotary (same engine as the favored Lex pedal)
2) Depth of Midi support (Terraform has basic Midi, while the Mobius has an extremely robust Midi implementation)
3) Number of presets (Mobius=200 vs Terraform=8)
4) Depth of control over the rotary

I'm sure some would enjoy the Terraform, but for an engineering-oriented keyboardist like me who customizes everything, the Mobius was the obvious choice.

Now that I've got it in my rig and configured. I am thrilled.

The sound is spectacular. I don't know how well it compares to a "real" Leslie, but to my ears it's amazing. When I A/B the Mobius to the YC61 native rotary SIM, the Mobius sounds immersive, warm and clean. By comparison, the YC61 SIM sounds like I'm playing through a 60's transistor radio.

I've completely worked the Mobius into my Midi setup, driven by a Keith McMillen Softstep 2 pedal and the ever amazing BomeBox midi translator. The SS2 pedal controls the Mobius rotary speed and bypass. Further, in parallel I've got the rotary speed controlled by the slow/fast switch on the YC61, horn level by the YC61 "Tone" encoder and drive level by the YC61 "Drive" encoder. I used the YC61 Midi Control "invert" setting to enable the controls of any deactivated effect to send Midi and operate LED's in response to encoder and switch settings as expected.

This is not to mention the 11 other "mod machines" in the Mobius, besides the rotary. I connected the Mobius to Aux 5/6 on my Behringer XR18 mixer, using busses 5 and 6 as an effects send. Now I can run any instrument through the Mobius, including my Yamaha CP4 and Waldorf Blofeld. I feel I've gotten good value for my purchase of the expensive Strymon Mobius.

I know that this rig is likely quite a bit more complex than most keyboardists would be comfortable with. It works for me, and it sounds truly magnificent.

I've collected quite the few pedals and after owning the Mobius for a couple months I sold it back to the guitar shop. It is not a bad pedal but it was not for me. I only used 2-3 modes out of the whole thing. It did what it did good but took alot of the fun away from my other pedals. If your the type that doesn't want a cluttered up pedal board and only wants 2 or 3 pedals. This is the pedal for you. If you like having 5,6,7 or 8 pedals on your board, don't get it. It still was a solid pedal. I own 2 other Strymons and their products are great.

One awesome pedal. It can match my vintage pedals pretty much spot on and takes up a lot less room on my pedal board. The only drawback, the use of one effect at a time.

Soooo disappointing! All expression pedal s do is switch presets. I feel like I was sold a bag of goods here. Rip-off.

Digital can rule on delay/reverb, but modulation is just no where near analog circuits in depth and organic sounding effects. I felt the same with most digital modelers I had tried, L6 especially left me never wanting to try that route again.
If you think the digital vibe in this sounds like a photo cell vibe I feel for you. I had mine one day and sent it back, Normally a big fan of Strymon but for modulation this reminded me of digital mimic that just was not that great and I agree with the other guy the presets are super wet trying to make the unit sound like it is doing something but for me was a swing and miss by Strymon.
Some love it but maybe it's because it's a "Strymon" and you are stuck on the name and that it has to be great. Was not on par with more top end analog pedals, not by a long shot. Maybe convenient and compact effects instead of a bunch of pedals but other than that just was not for me. I expected better as I really thought like their two drives they had bridged the digital gap on analog, not this one.

It"s the best, man!

I love this pedal! The sounds and the detail you can change is unreal! It has replaced many pedals on my board, and everything sounds so great! My only reason of giving it four stars is that you can't use multiple effects at the same time. When I need to use say, a chorus and a tremolo pedal together I have to pull out my boss tremolo to make it work. There's also some effects like the destroyer and quadrature that I personally won't use that often. I think it would be more useful to have a harmonizer in the pedal. If those aren't dealbreakers for you, (they were not for me) you should absolutely get this! It's absolutely incredible!

Just amazing. It sits perfectly in a band mix. In a live setting you wouldn't know it was a digital emulator.

This pedal is insane! You can get lost in it so easily. Almost infinite possibilities.

I really messed up on this one. It's the only pedal on my board with a digital display. It is NOT user friendly. No manual was included. The presets are a joke (way to wet). Tweaking them does hot help. This machine practically eats your tone. Saving something you have tweaked occasionally overwrites the wrong presets. This thing will be unusable live without a midi pedal. Save your money for just the essential mod pedals you need. I know Strymon is held in held regard, but from my limited expreience, they got this thing all wrong.

Full disclosure: I'm an old-timer that could never figure out rack gear back in the 80's/ 90's either. I have no idea what made me think things had somehow gotten better over the years.

When I got this It was supposed to be a well built, very diverse and meticulously designed device, I also knew it could be hard to learn. It is all of those!
I am very new to it still. ...but optimistic.

but I must say it is smarter than I am (a computer analyst) so far..if that makes sense

Not only improves your tone, but gives you TRULY authentic effects, as opposed to the classic cheapo fake-sounding mods you get from other all-in-one pedals.
I could swear there is a Leslie cabinet in the room.
Easy to run. Don"t be intimidated. I didn"t even read the manual yet, and I figured out how to bank and tweak and save settings. Easy and pro.

Watch the demo videos. There are a host of chorus, filter and phaser pedals on the market, but the Mobius is an indispensable piece of gear for those of us looking for a rotary speaker and/or a clean Univibe emulator. I tried two Keeley Dark Side pedals, but returned them both due to their noise floor and dreaded swoosh (ok for live, but brutal for recording). The Mobius has a couple of gimmick settings that I have no need of, but the other available effects are very clean and useful. I have 2 dozen or more pedals that are great for live use, but I"ve ventured away from using them when recording due to noise. One can argue that there are measures that can be taken to remove noise from the mix, but I"d rather not have to "fix" anything and instead, work with low noise floor outboard devices and move on to plugin effects from there. Most stomp boxes are inherently noisy. The Modius is easily one of the quieter outboard devices I"ve used. Yes, it"s an expensive pedal but this is truly a case of "you get what you pay for".

Also, unless you already own all the classic pedals it was modeled after, it will probably expand your knowledge of modulation.

I've had my möbius for some time now and am in love with it. Th choruses are lush. The univibes hit the spot and the phaser and Flangers are spot on.i programmed my Dunlop x volume control to act as my foot controller to controller the wahs. The tremolos are amazing and us u can build your patter in pattern tremolo. The controls were very intuititive as I already own th timeline and blue sky. But wanting a disaster area dpc 5, I may have to upgrade from blues sky to big sky so as to not affect pedal order and obtain more control via midi. Great pedal especially modern praise and worship is reintroducing more 80's vibes sounds. Don't let the price fool u. U get a patterned trim you can control, which on the marke5 is about _$250 stand alone. A way is another. $150. Together those to effects hit $400. Not including h nchruses, phasers and Flangers. Thou my favorite sound it th rotary. Stand alone is about $300. Strymon builds quality with dynamic versatility. Don't hesitate. Presets are amazing out of the box, so very little tweaking Needs to be done. The only issues is the bank up and bank down, but if ur running multiple midi pedals, invest in a midi controller with presets capability. Still atop notch unit. Love it my timeline.

Within 15 minutes I had the best sound of my life. Running this in stereo is pure Heaven. I am selling off other pedals and gaining pedal board real estate because this can cover so many bases. Strymon did a great job on this pedal!

The Mobius pedal offers an incredibly broad palate of tonal effects with multiple choices drawn from 12 types of modulation, and including 200 factory presets. I added an expression pedal, which helps to nuance the impact of the pedal, but each patch allows for multiple adjustments, so there is a fairly overwhelming choice at every turn! I find less use for the ring modulation, filters, or destroyer patches than for the vibe, rotary, and chorus effects, but every preset is very usable upon arrival, so I'm sure those choices would depend upon individual preference, and there are an additional 6 types, as well.

My pedal board has felt the impact of the arrival of the new pedal. I retired my MXR Flanger. I really should remove both my Australian (Blue Ringer) ring modulation pedal and my Emma DiscomBOBulator auto filter, since the Mobius works very well to replace those, too. I am unlikely to use those effects in combination, so it would easily serve their function. At this point of the learning curve, though, it is simpler to keep the multiple pedals for quick changes. I will not retire the Analogman Bi-Chorus, even though there is a very strong Chorus function in the Mobius. I still prefer the Bi-Chorus and there are ways I will combine the Chorus with the Mobius effects.

It will take time to fine tune the patches on the Mobius. Although the adjustments are saved easily, there are a lot of patches and one of the important decisions will be how to store the adjusted presets so that they can be found quickly in live performing situations. The good news is that the order is as adjustable as the presets themselves. It will take some planning, but there are two spots for saved presets in each of the 100 foot-switchable banks and at some point, I will put the most often used patches in an order that is quickly accessible. But, at this point, I am still exploring.

The on line manual explains all the many details at length, and there is an effective two page getting started sheet. Practically, it is simple to scroll through the banks using the foot switches, and there is the possibility of MIDI control and options for the placement of individual patches in your order of effects. So far I find it pretty great, and I suspect I will be even happier as I get more at home with the options. There are many very good sounds available, and they do not sound artificial, like in some early versions of multi effect pedals. Listen to some demos, but the Mobius is pretty sweet gear. Strongly recommended.

Versatile. It would be hard for someone to find a sound they didn't like. User friendly.

I am having the time of the past few years with my new Mobius pedal and I have only been using the presets so far. I already have about ten favorite sounds and am just getting started. I couldn't be happier and thanks to Sweetwater for getting it to me so fast. You guys are great!

The Mobius is one of the elite multi fx stomp boxes. It has every modulation effect you could ever want and then some. I consider this to be a modeling platform for the many historic modulation tones. This means going deep into the programming. I personally think the interface is extremely easy to use but there are a ton of parameters which are necessary to achieve such a wide variety of tones. If you don't want to sit down and go through all the parameters, you are not going to tap into the power and versatility of the pedal. Each effect has different modes, wave shapes, and tone shaping so you can spend an hour simply going through each phaser setting. The good thing is that there are major differences between each mode.

The overall sound is fantastic and versatile. It can sound dark, bright, gritty, etc...some modes sound more analog then others but that could be in my head. The chorus mode is the only one that does not get close enough to an "analog" sound.

Playing live with the mobius is a good experience for me. Switching banks requires pressing two buttons at once but I don't find it to be difficult. I keep the first 5 banks open and program according to setlist. It is rare that I need two modulation effects in one song so the bank switching is no big deal.

I didn't give it a 5/5 because you can't stack effects. It would be great to have a dual mode but I have no clue what the reality of making that happen entails. Overall I consider it to be a great value since buying each individual effect would be more expensive.

So, I am big fan of Strymon pedals. I've owned a few different ones in the past such as Blue Sky, Brigadier, OB.1, etc., and they were wonderful. I decided to break the bank and order a Mobius and a Big Sky to go with my Timeline and my DiG. I'm still learning all of the presets, and finding many of them to be very usable. Excellent sound quality, and I am really liking some of the Vibe settings. There always seems to be a few patches which I could never imagine using, but most of them are just great. I recently bought a new Empress Phaser, but I think it will be getting sold now. Big thanks to Tyler Moore my sales engineer, for helping me get the order put together!

So I finally decided to reduce the number of pedals on my board - many of which were modulation pedals - and one giant pedal that would not even fit on the board. I'm a fan of high end analog pedals but I kept thinking that with the H&K Rotosphere, and the Fulltone Chorus/Flange, DejaVibe, and the SupraTrem, I must be sacrificing my tone with all of the additional wire (and processing thru the effects). Plus, I use only one of those modulation effects at a time. Strymon with their advanced DSP programming and the use of high end DSPs seem to be the one that could help.
Here's the bottom line: Does it sound as good as the H&K Rotosphere? No. But there is no noise and the Rotosphere is noisy. Does it sound as good as the SupraTrem? Yes. Does it sound as good as the Mini DejaVibe? No, but it's close, and you can have many more sounds that you can create. Is it better than the Fulltone Chorus/Flange? No. But nothing is, really. That would be the pedal that Strymon would want to recreate.
OK, so the sound is pretty close, you have a lot of programming capability where you could, for example, have a 4 pole phaser, a 6-pole phaser, an 8-pole phaser, etc.
You have a lot of memory locations - 100 banks of two programs.
Here's what I don't like: It requires a 330mw 9v power supply. My VooDoo labs Pedal power 2 does about 250mw on each two terminals. So I have to use a wall wart to power it. I may investigate bridging two of the VooDoo labs terminals. I've heard that may resolve the issue. I think newer VooDoo labs power may work and Strymon is coming out with their own.
The other thing is recalling programs in a live setting. You have to step on two of the three pedals to find your bank, then pick which program in the bank. So, putting your most used effects in adjacent banks and in adjacent program slots is highly recommended. Also, at least until I can figure it out, when you bank to a patch, the patch is "on". That requires an extra button push as you are pre-programming how you want to access your effects for the next song live. The right answer is a MIDI pedal board. These can be large or small. Also, Stymon makes a little button bank called Multi Switch that connects via the expression pedal connection. I'll probably get that since it is small and requires no external power. Remember, I'm trying to shrink my pedal board footprint, not expand it.
So - no noise, less wire capacitance, programming flexibility, more modulation effect options than I've ever had. So, Mobious is probably a good thing. I just need to make it more friendly live.
Lastly, this is the biggest disappointment, but not a deal killer - the folks at Strymon provide you with a patch librarian. This allows you to organize your patches in the sequence/bank that you want them. That's it. There is no Strymon effects parameter/patch management app. C'mon....that should be something that an effect company making a premium pedal should provide their customers. Line 6 does it. Eventide does it. Why not Strymon? Lame.

I love Sweetwater and it s so very cool they are now carrying Strymon!!!!! I bought my Mobius direct from Strymon and it s my second fav pedal (I own close to 300 stomp boxes...most bought from Sweetwater)!! My 1st is Eventide s PitchFactor which I did buy from Sweetwater. The Mobius is fantastic!! Of course, now I ll be buying all Strymon pedals from Sweetwater!!!

Let me first start off by saying I am slightly obsessive/compulsive, have perpetual GAS (gear acquisition syndrome), and am in constant search of great tone. I've owned probably two dozen of the top modulation pedals over the years, and my board was cluttered as heck. No more. Enter the Mobius.

Every. Single. Tone. is incredible! It nails the exact tones I already had in individual pedals, and adds so many more effects that I never knew I needed until now. In particular, the Formant and Destroyer are worth the price by themselves.

The one caveat is that it's a bit tricky to switch banks during a live show. To resolve this, I bought a Disaster Area DMC-2 Gen2 MIDI controller. Works like a champ.
