It has all the bells and whistles for less money and is way easier to use. I have used Mixcraft since 2005 and it has kept pace with industry. I've recorded several bands, dozens of solo artists and countless other projects. This is my go to DAW and the one I always come back to.

A very good and often underrated DAW. I also use Studio One 6 Pro, but I wish that they would adopt some of Mixcraft's great editing features.

MixCraft keeps getting better and better... The single most finest Daw I have used... For beginners and for Pro's

I used ProTools for a decade and recently decided to make a switch to something different. Well, Mixcraft certainly is different, but in a really good way! Better value than Studio One Artist and more intuitive than Reaper, by a long shot!

I think this is the perfect DAW for the home studio musician or who wants to start producing or recording music straight away. There are loads of included instruments and enough effects to bootstrap any production (including a Vocoder), regardless of how many third-party plug-ins or instruments you want to bring in. Even if you have no MIDI keyboard or similar device, you can play every virtual instrument with your computer keyboard.

Once you understand Mixcraft's peculiarities (such as "SubMix" tracks), the workflow is extremely simple and is conducive to either top-down or bottom-up mixing. With an integrated channel strip in the Mixer itself, most if not all of your gain staging, compression, saturation, and EQ moves can be done there without bringing in any plug-ins, which is nice. Audio clips can be zoomed down to the decisecond level for precise track editing.

The only downside to this DAW, if it really is a downside, is that the GUI for most of the stock plug-ins look very basic (like Reaper's plug-ins). In this day and age when there is really nice-looking freeware out there, it does seem a little odd that a software development company can't invest just a little bit more into making their stock stuff look cool. Looks aside, everything sounds excellent.

This is the most stable and plugin compatible version of Mixcraft to date. I cannot imagine trying to use other daws at this point. I came from Reaper, Sampltude and Cubase. I will never go back.

I have the fastest computer a person could have with 128gb of ram, gig performer, reaper , and almost any plugin work flawlessly, except when used with mixcraft! I don't understand! I wanted to so like this daw because I really like the layout of the mixer. But when I use a plugin like pianissimo I get distortion, certain plugins are just buggy inside mixcraft they tell you to send them your log file and then blame it on a plugin. But all the while the same plugin works just fine in reaper. It's a shame . I find it hard to believe others don't have any issues with this program.

I use Mixcraft Pro Studio on my PC and Logic Pro X on my Mac. Mixcraft is absolutely amazing and intuitive for the price point. Workflow for recording or creating and editing MIDI is the best. I make all my MIDI tracks in Mixcraft and cannot make a stronger recommendation for anyone looking to start making music. More than worth the money you will pay, been using Mixcraft since version 2 back in 2008!

Been using this since version 8.. No complaints.. totally solid daw.. I would 100% recommend.
