Studio-quality Compression Control in a Stompbox

Walrus Audio’s Mira boasts both serious sonic adjustability and a classic optical compressor sound to squash, squeeze, and sustain your guitar's tone! Just like Walrus Audio’s Deep 6 Compressor, this pedal features a flexible blend control that allows you to mix in your compressed tone with your clean tone, resulting in unique sounds that simply aren’t possible on most compressors. In addition, the Attack, Release, and Ratio controls provide plenty of ways to sculpt your tone, while the Make-Up knob is perfect for maintaining unity levels after your signal becomes compressed. Far from your typical 2-knob compressor pedal, the Walrus Audio Mira is about as close as you can get to studio compression control in a stompbox format!

Blend your tone

The Walrus Audio Miras’s blend function mixes your wet and dry signals together, offering an exceptional level of flexibility in how you dial in your compressed tone. Sweetwater guitarists find that it’s a brilliant way to give your tone a subtle edge, but one of our favorite settings to squash your signal to the max, then dial in a sweet spot between your heavily compressed signal and your clean tone, giving you all the benefits of a highly compressed tone with all the dynamics and beautiful transients of your dry sound!

Walrus Audio: built by tone tweakers for tone tweakers

The artists, musicians, and engineers at Walrus Audio take pleasure in chasing sounds that inspire, like the perfect breakup of an overdrive, a beautifully thick distortion, an endlessly sustaining reverb, and a self-oscillating delay. Simply put, these guys love to play with sound. They design stompboxes that re-create the sonic textures that they hear in their heads. Built by tone tweakers for tone tweakers, Walrus Audio’s guitar pedals are as versatile as they are functional. Complete with eye-grabbing graphics, Walrus Audio’s pedals are the perfect tools for guitarists who want to sculpt their own unique sounds.

Great Sounds

When I was looking for a compressor I found a lot of information about all the controls a good compressor should have (Attack, Release, Ratio, Blend...) and the Mira had them all. Then I saw information about how all these parameters interact with the others and it becomes overwhelming. The explanations were complex and they were not explaining how to make your guitar sound better. Walrus Audio has a you tube video that shows and explains how to set the Mira for 8 or 9 different situations where compression works to improve your sound. You can use their video and quickly get great sounds and learn how to use all the controls. The Mira is a very feature rich compressor but you can conquer its complexity in minutes using their video and you will know enough to set it up for any other use you might have.
One final thing, It sounds great

great compressor

One of my favorite pedals already

Clarity!

I'm a guitar player with an always on compressor. Over the years I've used various ones, the Ego, the Boss CS's. When I got this one, at first I was on the fence, but the more I played it, the more I heard how clear it is compared with the others. Every note is defined, even with fairly high compression!

Mira

Took way too long to find this compressor... Could not find a single good sound with compressors lacking the available parameters on this pedal. Ratio, Attack, Release, and Blend are absolutely essential.

Incredible Compressor

This studio grade compressor sounds amazing! If you have no idea how compressors work, I wouldn't recommend this one. It isn't as tweakable as some studio compressors, but it definitely requires a fair understanding of general compressor info. If you do know how compressors work, this is the easiest pedal I've found to quickly dial in exactly what you're looking for in a compressor pedal. It's easy to get a super squished funk sound, or a light compression that keeps your dynamic range at any level you choose. My only critique is that the ratio knob feels like guesswork for the most part because there isn't any way to tell what ratio you are dialed into. Of course, it's easy enough to adjust until you find the sound you like, so it really isn't a big deal. Overall, killer compressor!
