JHS Mini A/B Box 2-channel Line Switcher Pedal Reviews
An A/B pedal is one of the most useful tools you can add to your pedalboard. And with the JHS Mini A/B, you get all that convenience in a tiny format that will squeeze into even the most crowded spaces. This tiny tool is fantastic for switching between two amps, switching between two instruments, or taking your tuner out of your signal chain. You can even leave one output of the Mini A/B unplugged and get a great mute switch function from it. The JHS Mini A/B is quickly finding its way onto a lot of Sweetwater guitarists' boards for good reason.

Perfect A/B switch
Noiseless, and does what it's supposed to do. Perfect for what I needed. It's small and simple! Thanks to Pablo at Sweetwater who helped me through all of my purchases.
JHS A/B
Works as it should. Small footprint great for crowded or small pedalboard. Led glows blue/red to indicate A/B.
Does exactly what it says
No issues with noise/click. Love it.
A/B box
Quiet, reliable, I now own 2 of these. Need i say more?
Great simple A/B box
I needed something it to switch between two guitars quickly at gigs. I needed something small to fit on my pedalboard and also wanted a passive box. This was the perfect solution. I trusted JHS products as I know their quality. After a few months of a busy gigging schedule, this held up perfectly. Switching is seamless, it's a soft click, and I don't notice any signal degradation.
Switch tones
This pedal works perfectly to switch between channels on my Fender amp so I can set a lead tone and a rhythm tone. I also use it the other way around to switch between guitars. Highly recommended.
JHS Mini A/B is a Keeper!!
I was looking for an a/b box to have 2 guitars hooked up in case of a string breakage. I read all kinds of reviews on different brands but chose the JHS (even though I hadn't really heard of them before) and I'm not disappointed in my decision in the slightest! It works perfectly and silently for my situation. A quality product for sure, worthy of 5 stars!! And- it's made in Kansas City. Also recommend the 1spot power supply to run the LED. A perfect match!!
Does its job
This little box does exactly what it is supposed to do with a minimum of hassle. It works with 2 instruments into one amp or 1 instrument into 2 amps. Hit the switch - channel changes. That's it.
Perfect Tool, well built, silent operation
Using this pedal to switch between two different inputs. One path is for my wireless signal and the other is for a cable. 100% satisfied. The LED illuminated red or blue depending on the signal path. Perfect.
Need a switcher pedal?
Compact, quiet, reliable. I can think of 3or4 places to use this.
JHS AB Switch
Needed a quality silent switch which could work in reverse, 2 sources to 1 output. Works great. Perfect for my needs. This switch will do the opposite too if needed, 1 source to 2 outputs.
JHS mini a/b box
This works great when I take two guitars to a gig good product from JHS and great service from SWeetwater
PERFECT
For all of us that use vintage style amps, 2 amps or simply need AB routing, not ABY, this is the perfect solution. High quality, small, sturdy, brit lights and no confusion. A or B. Nothing more and exactly what I needed. Get this, its affordable. Thanks JHS.
Great little switcher
I'm using it to switch between two guitars into one pedal board. Does the job.
Great little A/B box
Just what I needed; a mini A/B box w/ LED. As you probably know, it functions fine without the LED, but after using it that way for a little bit, I really prefer powering it up to have that foolproof visual of which side I'm running.
Solid Product, like every JHS product I have
I have 2 of these in my pedalboard, they actually reduce noise somehow; and they're indispensable as a tool (I use them to shorten loop effects and mute when tuning).
I previously used 2 JHS ABYs instead, and found the Mini A/B much more straightforward for my use, and they left me space in the pedalboard.
AND, as always, Sweetwater is the ONLY place to buy from (when I go, there is going to be a Sweetwater location in my personal heaven.
Nice compact and useful switch
I guess what can you say about a switch pedal? It does just that, not anything else.
I will say it does what it's supposed to, and it does that very well. It's built very well, does exactly what it's supposed to, switch is nice and easy to depress, With no added noise to my signal chain. It's great to be able to switch between my two amps with just a click now.
Very happy with it :).
Great
I wanted a product to assist me on recording another instrument to my looping live. It allows me to have both guitar and bass only clicking to switch. Super good quality and great price.
Great pedal
Does exactly what it says. Doesn"t colour my tone at all. Thanks Kenny Stratton. You are always amazing and helpful.
Works great
Works as expected. Very simple to use and the clicking noise it makes is very pronounced so you know you've hit the switch.
Awesome with Deluxe Reverb
I've been using one of these for 18 months with my deluxe reverb and it is awesome! You can set the volume of the normal channel higher than the vibrato channel and use it for your solos. the extra volume compresses a little more and sounds more ballsy when you hit it. It takes up very little space on the pedal board and aside from needing to tighten up on of the jacks, I've had no problems from it. You will need a double 1/4" guitar cable to do this but they are pretty easy to find. I've probably played 100 gigs with this setup.
A/B switch
I really like the size. It would be better for me if it had two lights. one next to each inlet/outlet 1/4 inch, but that's just me. I like it!
Works like it should
Built sturdy, works like it should.
It works great....BUT!
A/B switches are handy gadgets. This one is especially nice since it's so compact. Here's what I see as the problem....What good does the indicator light do by changing color? If there were TWO lights above their respective jacks, that would be better. Secondly, why have lights at all? Carvin used to make one that has no electronics at all! Just a simple box with I/O jacks and a foot switch. These were great for the solo performer who doesn't need a pedal board. He just needs to switch from one guitar to another. Unfortunately, they stopped making them. For the guys who like the indicator lights, this one is fine BUT....How about making one WITHOUT the electronics at half the price?
Just one tiny little thing...
The blue indicator light is about twice as bright as the red indicator light. Too bright in my opinion. They need to balance these out. Perhaps an appropriate resistor added to the "blue" side of the switch.
It works
Its an A/B stompbox. It works. What else is there to say.
...
Makes a very audible *CLICK* sound that comes through the amp when switching. Wouldn't be a big problem in louder environments,
but switching instruments while playing quieter music the click noise absolutely ruins it.
A bit noisey
Small size makes a bit unstable on the floor but my issue was using it with my all tube fender twin. It induced too much hum for me and pop when switched. Returned it, got a Boss. As always Sweetwater crew made it easy. Very happy camper.
Noisy!
JHS makes some great pedals. This one though, is incredibly noisy. I tried 2 and sent both back.
