1,100W Powered PA Speaker with 12" LF Driver, 1" HF Driver, 2-ch Mic/Line Mixer, Dual-angle Pole Mount, and Composite Cabinet (each)

Good purchase

By Mia Edsall from Bellevue Id on June 30, 2019 Music Background: playing in honky tonks and eveywhere else

I play banjo and guitar through preamps via cables. We also had a bass and electric guitar. I used only this one speaker for an outdoor venue. It was on 2 and my mixer was on 3. Set it on tripod at ear level parallel to us. Connected to mixer in monitor (mono) slot. Worked great. Gotta love the power (ceiling room.)

Think Vintage JBL Sound Quality

By Adrian Zvarych from Clearwater FL on December 2, 2018 Music Background: Professional Hobbyist

If it wasn't for the recommendation of Sweetwater's Michael Grebe suggesting this as a powered PA solution, I would have probably spent a lot more and have been much more aggravated. Had our first jazz vocal gig with a single M12. No external mixer. No external EQ needed. No extra wires.
Plugged a Samson wireless and an SM57 into the XLR inputs, adjusted the volumes and played the gig. Didn't even have to tweak the built in Bass or Treble controls. More than enough volume even at just 1/4 of the way turned up. Sounds awesome with MP3's of all styles. Sweet transparent highs, full rich lows without a hint of a cheap boom sound. Can't wait to have a few more gigs under our belt to buy a second cabinet. But - only if we have an outdoor or large venue. One M12 was awesome for the wine bar we played.

TurboSound Incredible

The power rating is one thing. But the performance and sonic clarity is another! this unit well out performs what the spec sheets says it can do. I have decided not to by the K12's because of this Milan M12!!! It's really that good!

Powerhouse Speaker at affordable price

By Ryan from Minnesota on June 22, 2017 Music Background: Plebian,

I originally bought a 300 watt all-in-one system, then Brian convinced me this would do better for me. "Better" doesn't even begin to start to describe the difference! This is a powered speaker - all you need is a mic and cable, and you are good to go. Or a 1/8 to 1/4 cord and run your phone into it, blasting Pandora or your playlist to the neighbors!
It weighs a plenty - your wife won't want to carry it to the attic after a gig, and you'll need a decent stand, but I am nothing but impressed with it. In all my goofing around, I have never yet hit the limiter on it - and now I'm about afraid to try!
I generally use it with a small mixer board so I can have more than 2 inputs, which is the limit with this. But the other night in my garden party, I used my computer playlist into one input, and a mic into the other - we had tunes and prize giveaways!
I love it, I plan to buy another to pair them! At this price, I can't imagine using a all-in-one system like a PVi, or Passport, or One of the others. This simply has far more power for less $$.

sound fantasic

By dave from spokane on March 20, 2017 Music Background: dj

back in the 90's a company from montreal used to bring their turbosound rig to the baltimore/dc area for large scale rave events. i was always super impressed. so when i finally had a chance to own some of my own turbosounds, i purchaed these milans m12's. i replaced some EV's id been using at my monthly event. the first night i had multiple people tell me how much better it sounded. rich and full were the words most used. last night was the second event i took them too, and again - had many compliments on how great it sounded in there. would love to pick up a few more!

Fantastic for monitors

By Zeke from Cincinnati, OH on September 5, 2016

I honestly wasn't sure about the TurboSound brand, but I had spent a decent amount of time listening to them at GearFest (along with many others in the search for monitors). I bought 2, and will probably be buying more to replace the JBL PRX712's I use now. The M12 are light, sound amazing, and have great low end in the monitor position.

Better then I could have hoped!

By Paul S on November 3, 2015

After blowing the last speak set I had (Fender Portable Speakers) I was nervous about do it again with these. ( I am a rookie at these sort of things ) I use these to play from a press box that looks down on a football field and they work better then I could have hoped. Impressively loud. More then I need in fact. I would recommend these to anyone doing a venue outdoors!

Amazing

By Al from NYC on August 4, 2015 Music Background: DJ

These speakers are amazing for the price. Serious low end. If you're looking for a top of the line speaker that sounds 30x more expensive than it is, get these. perfect for the house/techno. They have taken my home DJ setup to the next level.

Awesome Power!!!!

Excellent speakers for House,Top 40,Dance, and Hip Hop Music. I have two of the M12 with two 15B sub and man. Crisp Clean Highs, Low Deep Bass, and lots of headroom. Plus price is right.

Amazing Speakers

By Alan Glenn Lebov from Highlands Ranch, CO on May 12, 2015 Music Background: Pro Solo Performer

Bright and defined with real warmth (even at high volumes). Gobs of headroom too. Had a pair side by side with EV ZLX-12P and no competition. Not as "crisp" as the QSC K12's, but far more balanced. Best bang for the buck by far. And I don't care that Behringer owns Turbosound now. These are still amazing speakers.

Good response!

By Tim Pakledinaz from Radford, Va. on April 2, 2014 Music Background: About 40 years of gigging, 15+ running a recording studio, live sound.

Got these just in time for a bluegrass show in a large church. The speakers did a fine job of filling the old room with sound. Got a ton of compliments on the mix that day, and the Turbosounds had plenty left to give. To use the old cliche, these things are built like tanks. Will be using them next for an outside festival on the acoustic stage, where I will be able to "open them up" a bit more. Should be fun!

Good Sound

By Herran Ybarra from Florida on March 31, 2023

The speaker is easy to set up, easy to adjust and clear sound. Worth the cost.

Class D amp

By Sweetwater Customer on December 15, 2021 Music Background: Engineer

1100 watts is a high rating, what they dont tell you is what Olms the speakers are. Most are 8 olms, that 1100 watts is not for 8 olms. Always ask what power rating is it for that speaker. I've seen speakers, not turbosound, with 6000 watt ratings. When you dig down into olms, its 250 watts.

Heat problem

By Sweetwater Customer on March 22, 2019 Music Background: 40 year sound reinforcement engineer

These boxes sound great indoors but outside, with any sun on the backs, they heat up and shut down because there are no internal fans.

Ive worked with them alot at my theatre. Heres my review

By Sweetwater Customer on February 14, 2019 Music Background: Sound guy

Doing live shows in a vibrant hall as shown the few flaws these have. To preface: for their price, they are very much worth it. That being said, when you start using them as monitors, they will start to fight you a little bit on the deaf musicians. Once you put enough signal through them at any given time, 280Hz - 310Hz will get sloppy, like the cone can't move enough to replicate the sound. I believe this is the same problem someone else had who rated these under 5 stars also. Over all, very reliable. As long as you are able to handle the problem spot, the sound is pretty crisp. Great piece to start off a rig with

Loud, But...

By Vance Shepherd from Macon, Ga. on April 4, 2018 Music Background: Radio, Mobile DJ

So I admit it - I'm a cheap speakerholic. As a part-time I can't make myself drop $2000 on a pair of boxes that could be toast at any given rowdy southern wedding reception. Of course, I've spent way more than that dabbling with different brands like Mackie, Behringer, Alto, and EV (ZLX). Hey, if I'm gonna have a hobby like this, better to pay a little less for my toys! I had a gig at a local street party, and I was worried my Alto TS215s wouldn't deliver the consistent volume I wanted. Sweetwater's own eternally awesome Brian recommended a pair of these little dudes and a sub. Yes, the combo sounded FANTASTIC, throwing from one end of the block to the other. But as the hours went by, I detected a sloppiness in the signal. Gain and volume levels were on point from the mixer to the Milans, with nothing coming close to being over-driven. Were they blown? Surely not, as I hadn't even cranked past the 11 o'clock position, with the limit light never engaging. It was something else - a nasty, shrill distortion reminiscent of an old boom box being blasted to the max. Basically, they sound great until they don't. It is possible they are better suited for live band applications. I'm just really disappointed, especially since I sold my backups. Gotta use these guys at a wedding this weekend, so maybe more time and a little tweaking will make a difference… Not holding my breath.

Shut Down when too Hot

By DJ Upset on January 13, 2023 Music Background: DJ

I used the speaker for a 50th party along with a Behringer xp1500 sub. They were good for about 3 1/2 hours then became to hot and shut off. I ran the system in full Stereo all the way to the mixer and think it was too much signal for the speaker. A previous party, I ran the two speakers as mono and nothing bad happened. Still not sure about these, need to tweak it a little to see an end result. But the fact that there is no way to cool the amp down is a problem. I might have made a mistake. Need speakers that can play for 6-8 hours straight without overheating.

Head to head against Mackie SRM450 and lost big time

By DJ Dace from Minnesota on October 6, 2019 Music Background: DJ/Live band

I will start out by saying, for the price the Milon M12s are not a bad buy, but here comes the rain. I bought two from my local music store and one was dead right out the box, since I had a DJ gig that night I hustled back the the music store and they didn't have any M12s left so they gave me a Mackie SRM450 as a loaner to get me through my gig that night. So side by side comparison is as follows. M12 had to be set over 3/4 gain to get same volume as SRM450 at a just over 1/2 gain. M12 had a very slight hiss, SRM450 quiet as could be. M12 had a tinny, trebley sound when pushed hard. SRM450 stayed true with a warmer sound and better mix of sound all the way around. M12 ran a little warmer than the SR450, but not excessive. M12 was heavier and clumsier to get up on the stand, SRM450 was quite a bit lighter and was very easy to get up on the stand. So in conclusion, with one speaker being dead right out of the box and the other hissing and not maintaining sound quality, heavy and awkward handles, I am returning it and going to pony up for a pair of the Mackie SRM450s.

Sounds good for the first year then nothing but problems

By Rusty on October 5, 2020 Music Background: Worship leader/pastor for 30+years

I've had two of these speakers for a little over two years. I loved the way they sounded but then about a year later the problems started. First every time I powered them up they would hiss then pop loud. Not to long after that one stopped powering up all together sent it back for repair (I paid shipping so now the cost of the speaker is $150+ more) now they sound distorted and break up. My experience with these speakers is terrible! I cannot trust them to preform. I would not recommend these to anyone!!
