Excellent multi purpose speaker

By Sweetwater Customer on March 19, 2024

I ordered these mainly for floor monitor use. Works well for small venue mains or even better as monitors. Voiced well for vocals. I like the adjustable bass & treble controls to roll off lows. Also has crossover switch. Great floor monitor angle for cramped stages.

Great speakers

By Brandon from Tennessee on July 20, 2023

I bought these Milan M-10 speakers to use as monitors. I've acquired several over the years they have always performed well and sound great!! I would recommend these for anybody needing small pa speakers or monitors for cramped stages. I've used these for rock, country and jazz bands. Everybody loves them. Is there better out there?..maybe, I prefer these so they take up less room on stage.

Awesome speaker

By Boyd Murdock from Idaho on May 17, 2023 Music Background: Acoustic guitar/ singer solo act, drummer

I solo acoustic/singer. I recently sold my Yamaha stagepas and went to these powered speakers. I can't believe the difference. The sound is very clear and they have an excellent bass sound to them as well. They more than cover the venues I play in. I have had many comments on how much better I sound. The price is great and you really can't go wrong with these. I highly recommend them. You'll love them!!

Best little Speakers around Owned 4+years and no issies!

By Seth Newberry from Bullard, TX on March 1, 2023

These things take a beating....main PA for our practice room for 4 years plus! hours and hours of use and no issues. No blown drivers or components. Not gigged much with them (no need to) but 2 practices a week for years they have been used alot and a few gigs thrown in there where we needed them. Sound is amazing and wouldnt find a better deal for these speakers anywhere. Would buy these again! (Hope I dont need to but if I did I wouldnt hesitate)

Love this speaker!!

By Johnny Cline from Richmond Hill GA on September 29, 2022 Music Background: Mobile DJ 20+yrs

I purchased one of these to use as a cocktail hr/ ceremony speaker. Used it last night and was very impressed. I came out of my EV ETX 12 main mix out to the Turbosound M10 in the room behind me. This speaker sounded great and the bottom end blew me away. I was not expecting that at all. This is a very versatile speaker and light weight. This speaker will go with me to every gig. M10 does not have Bluetooth or app control but sometimes you just need quick and simple with quality sound. This speaker has it. Thank you Brook Floyd at Sweetwater for the recommendation.

its great and great for the house

Perfect for monitors/side fill

By Chuck from Upstate New York on February 16, 2020 Music Background: 20+ years playing in bands, sound engineer for the past 5 years.

I bought these to use as monitors, for our band(even though I use IEMs, the other guys use stage monitors) these worked perfect! I used them for the first time at a show featuring 5 very different bands ranging from a solo acoustic act to a hard rocking 80s/90s band! I just ran sound for this show, and every act complimented me on the stage sound with just these 2 set up as monitors. For the price, you can ask for better! One band was so impressed they are looking at replacing their monitors with a set of these, and making their current monitors back up, or add ons for outdoor shows.
These would work amazing at a small show, for an acoustic act, at 600 watts each, I suppose a band could use them as well, if the room is not too big.
We use Turbosound iq12s as mains, and these are the perfect compliment.

Turbosound rocks!!

By Brandon from Tennessee on April 27, 2019 Music Background: Singer, Musician, Entertainer, Kj/Dj

Great sounding speaker. Easy to use, has lots of headroom and sounds great!! I bought it to use as a monitor and the 100Hz switch kills the floor rumble you get from using is as a monitor. Other speakers in this price range don"t have such features. I am very impressed with this speaker. I plan on buying more of these. Turbosound wins!!

Good Quality

By Kye S. from NC on November 6, 2018 Music Background: Semi-Pro for 18 years

I have owned this powered speaker for about 2 years. I used it as a monitor for our live gigs, which I play a keyboard, an acoustic guitar and I sing through it. (It only has 2 inputs on it, so I use a mixer to combine the keyboard and acoustic guitar into 1 input and I use the mic through the 2nd input.) I also use it weekly for rehearsals and gigs for 2 years. Very durable. The sound quality is amazing through all the frequency ranges. It brought out nuance sounds from keyboard and acoustic guitar that I did not know were there until I used this Turbosound Milan M10 Powered Speaker. Seriously, it was like I had brand new instruments! It sounds WAY better than 2 other brands I have used with 15 inch woofers in them and it weighs hardly anything. It is extremely durable. Most scuffs come off with a scotchbright pad. Get padded covers if you want it to look perfect all the time.

Buy! and then buy more...

By Matt L from Lincoln NE on June 5, 2018 Music Background: Weekend musician and amateur sound engineer

Amazing clarity... but even more impressive is the low end that comes out of these little guys. Had one playing music in our practice space, sitting on top of a rack case, and a buddy that showed up later thought we had the whole PA going.

I bought 4 for floor monitors but they could easily be used as mains for a small show.

Absolutely not reservations in recommending these gems.

Pristine sound, huge amount of headroom!

By Scott Mitchell from San Antonio on June 4, 2018 Music Background: Jazz guitarist

Bought this to use as a floor monitor when placement of the Inspire iP1000 is not sufficient for us to hear ourselves. Wow, I barely turned this up and got tons of volume! Very clean and crystal clear for vocals, even with upright bass fairly loud in the mix (we are a vocal jazz combo). I find nothing to not love about this speaker! You can"t go wrong.

Outstanding

By Jim York from Troy, MO on March 23, 2018 Music Background: cover band drummer

I really wasn't expecting too much from a 10" speaker. I was blown away when I hooked it up to my mixer! I am using it as a floor monitor in my practice space and It is loud and clear!! As a matter of fact, I just ordered another one.

Another key addition to the drum studio

By Bob from Binghamton on March 3, 2018

Already had 1 Milan speaker, had to get the full stage effect and got another for behind the kit. Great sound, real cranking power too.

Speakers

By Linda Harwood on March 4, 2017

These speakers are incredible they are just what I need for singing in our church plenty of power love them!!

Little punchy powerhouses.

By Tim Pakledinaz from Radford, Va. on September 23, 2014 Music Background: About 40 years of gigging, 15+ running a recording studio, live sound.

Bough these to use as stage monitors. They were plenty loud for a blues/rock band playing an outdoor gazebo gig. I use the M12's up front for mains, and the Turbosound 15" subwoofer will be the next purchase. real nice stuff, great bang/wattage for the buck, clean sound.

A Little Monster

By J R Saunders on May 12, 2019 Music Background: Guitarist and vocals for about 36 years also sound engineer

Just got my Milan 10. And I have already did two gigs they sound unbelievable , they sound just like bigger speakers I love them , compared them with my RCF FD and hd 12 speakers and these little things sound almost as good or just as good, and the build quality is like a tank .
I did a wedding with them and the priest kept telling to turn down the bass and the volume , please I need find covers for them . Just waiting to see how long they would last already this thinking about getting two more that's how much I like them.

Compact, Light, and Good Sound

By rollie hallen on January 23, 2017 Music Background: bass player, sound guy, tube amp builder

Nice speaker, I've used mine three times, in three totally different scenarios ... they have worked really well.

I'll use them for monitors and fill speakers with my larger gear, and for FOH for smaller gigs ... it's a really nice acoustic guitar back-line amp.

The overall sound is good! Perfect? No, but completely usable. I haven't had to do much EQ'ing.
The sound has good clarity, and has a nice fullness ... they aren't too bright/harsh or too boomy

They are easy to put on a speaker stand because they are light ... I use the tilt-mount pole socket for a bottom "handle" when placing it on a stand

Overall considering their price I think they are a real nice affordable speaker

I gave it a 4.5/5 because of only having one handle

Concert at church=huge success w/ little speakers

By Daniel from NJ on July 25, 2016 Music Background: 10+ years pianist/musician, sound engineering student

Small, light-weight, and much clearer/ punchy sounding compared to my church's previous setup! I bought 4 of these; 2 for mains & 2 for monitors for a concert that was happening at our church and I can say they delivered very well.
Initially, I was a little skeptical that something so small would be enough for 250-300 people to hear, but I was proven wrong. I walked around the sanctuary and was able to hear every word they said and had no problem mixing everything together (4 vocalists, 3 guitars, 2 keys, electric drums, etc.).
If anything, I would probably want to buy a sub or 12" inch mains to better reproduce low end in the future!

Great monitor, but too easily torn up

By Kevin Ryan from FL on June 8, 2022 Music Background: Bassist/guitarist/keyboardist/ composer/ arranger/producer. audio engineer

I've been a Turbosound fan since the 90's, when I used their huge PA systems that could knock down a building. So when I saw that they're making more accessible gear, I jumped on it. For a 10" speaker at 600 watts, it smokes most monitors regardless of power ratings. The SPL on this little guy is serious. Unfortunately my frontman insists on setting it up next to his ankles while complaining that he can't hear it. When I move it 6-10 feet away, it rips his face off and I can hear it above everything from 15 feet back on the stage. It seems to me, to be more efficient as a long-throw than a near-field unit. I tried it as a drum monitor and the drummers made me move it 8-10 feet away from them, it was so loud. So, performance-wise I'll give it a 9--but even after the 1st gig, it started to scratch and ding up--and I am very careful with my gear. After a month, it looked like it had been dragged down the road. Worst of all, Turbosound provides no type of cover or case for these. Finding a generic cover for these is near-impossible due to the size and shape. Hence the 4 Stars

Good for certain applications but not all

By Jono on January 3, 2024

I've been using this for about 7 months now. I use it for live solo music, so it's in music mode most of the time. I like the features such as the LED indicators, bass and treble, GOOD quality connectors, and 100Hz cut. However I don't like that the XLR thru is also cut off at 100Hz by that switch. Not fun and a major drawback. (Also I think it's not really 100Hz, more like 130Hz. It cuts too much bass out. Feels like they didn't make it a hard cutoff and it has a very long knee if it truly is 100Hz.)

The bass and treble controls are powerful and useful, but I find the compression driver just has too much of the painfully scratchy highs unless you really roll them off, wherein it gets muddy. There's no sweet spot between the two. I'm constantly having to balance between the bass & treble settings which is not practical.

What everyone is saying about the bass is true: Loads of bass that is easily adjustable from the knobs on the back. However if that is NOT what you want, it can be a bit hard to dial out. Something is missing from the crossover point between the compression driver and the woofer. The mids and high-mids are lacking, and the treble above 6.5 - 8k is harsh.

I've used it as a monitor and it's far better for that application. So with a full band as a main or monitor it's not bad at all, but solo or a couple acoustic guitars, guitar and keyboard... it's just too thin even with a good mixer (mixers, tried more than one.)

Speaking of that: The triangular shape is GREAT as a monitor wedge, but a real pain in the butt for moving it around. I have it in a solid gig bag with some foam in it to try to keep it from shifting around, but it shifts anyway and it's a real nuisance when carting around. It's like trying to balance an egg...

I would say this speaker is very reminiscent of the older JBL Eon's from the late 90's / early 2000's. Those had missing mids as well. Too crisp on the top end. They can and do sound good in certain applications but are not perfect for anything and everything. I'm changing the role of this to a floor monitor for guest singers in my band.

These would be just fine for DJ'ing and would definitely be good enough for entry level in that application.
If you are needing warm dynamics, I would pass on this.

I also like the LED on the front. The extra tilt speaker stand hole is a plus. Used both many times.

I have heard the next step up (The Milan 12") as mains with another live band and they sounded much better than this. I was also the sound engineer that night so I would definitely recommend the 12" or 15" for live sound, but not the 10"

pretty good, not outstanding

By Menno de Boer from Redondo Beach, CA on February 22, 2017

I used to own a pair of JBL EON15G2's ten years ago, which became my baseline for keyboard ampIification. Since moving to the US, I went from a Behringer 208D to an EV ZLX12P, to a JBL EON610 and recently I've been using the Turbosound Milan M10. I use them as a personal keyboard amp in the floor wedge position, and this review talks about them exclusively in that capacity.

Frankly, most of these plastic cabinet powered speakers in this price range sound pretty similar; there are differences, but nothing major. So in my opinion it comes down to features, and in that regard the ZLX12P stands out. I got the EON610 and returned it because it didn't go loud enough, and the Milan M10 has that bit of extra grunt. It also weighs noticeably more, but it is still very portable.

A bit of a downside is that in floor wedge position, good-sized 1/4" or XLR cable connectors tend to touch the floor. Otherwise, it does the job, but I'm not in love with it as a keyboard amp. Then again, I didn't love any of the above, so maybe I just need to buy something more expensive or completely different.

All in all, it's a good speaker for the price.

Nice sounding box, easily scratched cabinet

By Mark Anderson from United States on March 29, 2014 Music Background: Pro Musician.

It's a nice sounding box. It's a little hyped for an octave centered on 100hz, has a slight dip around 400 and has a rising response about 4k on up. Not extremely flat but sounds nice for playback and easily tamed for monitor use. Plenty loud for a box of it's size. The downside is the cabinet is very easily scratched. Setting it on it's side on my driveway caused it to pick up very small rocks which left pits in the plastic. We'll find out in six months what they look like and how well the box holds up.

Unreliable

By Dave from Alabama on September 19, 2019 Music Background: Professional

I originally bought a demo model (with full warranty). It was Dead on Arrival. Then it was quickly replaced by Sweetwater with a brand new unit. I have had to send the replacement unit back twice for sudden unexplained volume drop/distorted output. Both times, it happened under medium/light duty.
I don't understand what's going on. When it works it sounds amazing. But I can't rely on it anymore.
I really wanted to love Turbosound. I tend to go with the brand that everyone else isn't using. This fit that bill. But wow, saddens me to lose faith in it.
