Great machine if you have hearing loss
I'm a septuagenarian with significant hearing loss. Listening to discussion videos and podcasts is a challenge. I bought the MicroBook Iic because I knew it had an EQ that I could apply to help. However, it also has a compressor which I found is way more useful. Most of the time I get a significant improvement by tweaking the threshold of the compressor and adding one or both shelf filters.
MOTU on the go!
It just works. Sounds great, and easy to use. I wish MOTU had more selection of bus powered USB audio interfaces, as this one is wonderful. The extra set of outs and ins is very handy for going through outboard and back in.
Highly recommended if you need to be portable. Great bargain.
BEST audio interface I ever had!
I've been doing digital music at home for over 30 years. I have been using the Tascam US-122 for over 15 years. Then I switched to the Tascam US 2x2, and then the FocusRite Scarlett 2i2. And although these are capable audio interfaces, I have always found some annoying things about each one, such as latency issues, or the drivers not playing well with my Windows operating system or other applications. Then a friend recommended MOTU products to me. I ordered the MOTU MicroBook IIc, and I have to say I have never been happier! This MOTU MicroBook IIc just works. Period. I find myself having to screw with settings and configurations less, if at all, and more time focusing on my music, which is how it should be. Low latency is amazing on this thing. Best low latency I have ever had. I will only buy MOTU in the future. If you can spare a little more money, do yourself a favor - go with MOTU. You are welcome.
Just What The Doctor Ordered
I've been working on improving my workflow to capture ideas wherever and whenever. As a result, having a portable studio is essential. I needed an interface for my MacBook Pro that I could throw into my bag and go! I have other portable audio interfaces, this one is different because it forgoes those pesky breakout cables! It also gives me a decent set of KNOBS right on the face of the device.
The near perfect combination of built-in inout jacks along with convenient controls on the face of the interface takes a lot out of my way allowing me to get right down to recording that guitar lick or that bass line I was just thinking about in the 5 minutes of free time that I have....
Since I also use other MOTU interfaces, the continuity of the Cut Mix application also helps! Thanks, MOTU.

El hecho que le di 4 estrellas es solo porque para usar este interface , forzosamente tienes que abrir el programa de su plataforma y de esa manera podras escuchar sonido en tus bocinas , mi computadora lo detectaba y lo podia asignar pero no salia audio , no hasta descargar y usar su programa que si bien es cierto si lo quieres usar por separado es muy bueno , trae muchas alternativas para conectar varios intrumentos.
Wanted to love this
Great build, made in USA ('Murica), good design, but couldn't get any sort of audio out. hit it hard with my own troubleshooting, and SW's wonderful tech support, but no luck. Maybe I got a bad unit? Even if that's the case, no excuse for sleeping on QC. Refund.
Too difficult to use
I spent 2.5 hours myself trying to figure out why my I pad wouldn't pick up the sound through this device while I was recording. Then I spent another 2.5 hours with my Sweetwater rep. The directions are confusing and seem like they were translated from another language. The software you are supposed to download to make the MOTU work is extremely difficult to understand. Unless you are a trained sound tech or have a lot of sound engineering experience, I would not recommend this device.
Garbage
Can't get audio to route out the second output pair 3-4 no matter what I do. Interface doesn't automatically route output 1-2 audio to the headphone jack either, and can't do any of this in software. This interface is useless if you can't route audio, wasted hours working on it. Absolute garbage (this is an older unit that was purchased maybe 5 years ago). Using with Cubase Pro 10.5 and Logic X on 2016 MacBook Pro with Mojave.
Worked great at first. Now just a waste of money.
It worked fine for the first couple of months. Now there's noise in the inputs. No it's not a sample rate or buffer size issue. I've troubleshooted all I could and have compared it with cheaper interfaces, and it just a faulty interface now. I will not be getting another MOTU product.
