The Whirlwind Micmute PMD gives you passive switching for controlling the on/off conditions of a mic or balanced line signal right from your desktop. The Micmute PMD sports a finger-operated push-to-mute switch, a female XLR input and a male XLR output jack. When no signal is passing through it, the output jack mutes the input. The input signal is normally on, passing through the box. When the switch is pressed and held down, the signal is muted. The signal is reconnected as soon as the switch is released. Not well constructed
I am familiar with the generic push button used for
this unit. It is a typical medium duty push button I have encountered in intercom systems and will
eventually fail. It is not a heavy duty stomp box switch. It is not made to be stepped on to be actuated.
