Just getting started with Mercury 8

Music Background: Bass player, part time home studio fun.

I am new to this virtual instrument but it is loaded with sounds and endless controls to shape things. The complexity of some of the arpeggiated pre-sets is crazy and I am having a load of fun with those. The fact that it has a long chain of available effects built in is awesome as apparently the original Jupiter 8 had none built in. So Cherry Audio really upped the game on this one and at such a great price.

I took an existing song I built in Reason 10 and added a track with the M8 and it fits wonderfully. Just seeing the whole keyboard on the monitor is a thrill with it's endless adjustments. Being able to experience what is must have been like to own a Jupiter 8 is a blast.

I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this plug in. Also thanks to Erik Molenaar for his ever present support with my Sweetwater products.

Better (and way cheaper) than the original!

Disclaimer; Although I've never played an actual hardware Jupiter 8, I love this emulation. The presets that pay tribute to Jupiter 8 sounds in recordings are absolutely spot on. As usual with their VST emulations, Cherry Audio goes far beyond the features and limitations of the original hardware while retaining the original's sonic character. I play it from my Montage 8, and being able to assign the Montage's controllers to Mercury 8's parameters makes it feel like playing a living, breathing instrument. And as always, buying from Sweetwater is as easy and pleasant as a phone conversation with a friend. I'll be back!
