Seeing how people rave over PRS guitars… I decided to try this pedal… I'm very disappointed… it doesn't react like an optical compressor at all… it clamps down like a gate halfway through smooth sustain… I've never known an optical compressor to act like that… it's over priced for what it is…

As a compressor it really levels out your sound and evens out the frequencies. It really smooths everything out. As a boosting compressor it really shines. It pushes the amp into sweet overdrive!

K.I.S.S. Not the band - the philosophy. I am a fan of keeping it simple. Two knobs. Yep. Any more knobs than three and it can get complicated, especially if you're playing live. The good thing is that both knobs and functions work well. The compressor is not as "strong" as some other compressor pedals but works well as an "always on." There is a good amount of compression to be had if you dial it up. And it's not too "Squishy." The gain is great and can be used as an awesome overdrive. It goes from clean to very dirty. A great pedal.
Clear compression
Great compressor and an even better boost. Clear quiet and transparent compression, also a perfect boost pedal. Adds a lot of sustain without changing the harmonics of the amp. With humbuckers it adds a LOT of sustain, with single coils settings it gives slight compression while extending notes/cords without coloring them. Love it.
So usable...
More versatile than expected. Beautiful, powerful clean boost and compression that brings the tone forward with lushness without squashing the signal. Perfect!

Received in the mail in the morning, tweaked in the afternoon, was at a gig that night. So good. When PRS stamps their name on a piece of music gear, I expect top notch performance and sound. This compressor does not disappoint. Perfect pairing for my Fender Acoustasonic and PRS S2 Custom. Acoustic evens out, the electric guitar pickups warm right up and just sounds better. All my other compressor pedals just killed my tone, so I bet this one will be your last too. Buy it! Thank you Paul Reed Smith!
Amazing
Simple to use and understand, yet very useful as either a compressor, a clean boost, or both at once. This pedal is an instant classic. It does the most important thing I want from a good compressor, it becomes invisible to the ears. I.E, you can't tell it's on when in use. It doesn't color your sound with the typical squish and squash other compressors tend to produce. It is the best guitar compressor I've ever had on my pedalboard.
Very Happy With This
It takes a little experimenting to find the sweet spots with the simple controls but with a little patience you will be well rewarded. The output gain is bold and you could use this as a boost pedal alone and be very happy. The compression is subtle but quite dynamic without crushing your tone. If you can find one, get it!
