Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ 75-watt Amplifier Head - Black Bronco Reviews

75W, 1-channel Tube Guitar Amp Head with 2 Power Modes, 5-band Graphic EQ, FX Loop, and Spring Reverb - Black Bronco

Are you craving pure vintage Boogie tone? If so, this real-deal re-creation of the legendary Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ is calling your name. Exactly like its ’80s-era predecessor, the modern Mark IIC+ houses an arena-worthy 6L6-fueled power section and a flexible single-channel, dual-mode, cascaded-gain preamp, enabling it to tackle crystalline cleans, gut-punching crunch, and liquid lead tones with equal assurance. Moreover, this tube amplifier head’s pull-shift voicing features and 5-band graphic EQ put potent tone-shaping control at your fingertips. You also get convenient built-in power scaling and a slave output. A buffered series effects loop makes integrating the Mark IIC+ with the rest of your setup easy. You also get a fixed bias for consistent, maintenance-free performance and a lush spring reverb. Built in Petaluma, California, this reissued Mark IIC+ provides today’s guitarists with a way to get their hands on what’s arguably Mesa/Boogie’s most coveted Mark series amplifier, and it doesn’t involve high-priced vintage relics in less-than-stellar condition. So stop chasing the legend, and become part of the authentic 40-year tradition of mythical tone — the Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ is back!

So incredible I bought a second one!!

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: 42 years of playing

I've owned a few Mesa Boogies and quite a few high end amps but the Mkii c+ is by far the best Boogie I've owned and maybe the best amp that I've owned period. There's a little bit of a learning curve to dialing them in ( use your ear ) I don't set my graphic eq anything like others recommend (but that may work for you) they are definitely not a one trick pony. I highly recommend using boost or overdrive pedals with them to just push them with volume up and the gain down to make them even more versatile.

More Versatile Than You Might Imagine

By Rob from Kentucky

It's James Hetfield's "Crunchberry's" amp reissued, but it can do much more beyond Metallica. The circuit's layout/organization and corresponding controls are unlike any amp that I have ever played. But, it is not hard to understand after a little trial and error, and it produces some highly unique and usable stacked gain tones. I am delighted to own a IIC+.

Great Amp

By Luke

I've had a Mesa Mark V head since 2009. I thought it had a great sound, until I bought this amp. This head has a sound and feel to it that makes you not want to stop playing. I've never played an original IIc+, so I can't comment on how true it is to the original, but the reissue sounds amazing. It's got a percussive attack that I could not get out of the mark V. The clean is awesome. I can dial in a Metallica tone, and if I role back the gain, I get an awesome crunch tone. Would highly recommend.

Every bit as good as the original

By Mark from Northern Michigan
Music Background: Amateur Rocker

I will lead off by saying I have had 3 original 2C+ amplifiers over the years. While they were great I always worried about them aging and the ability to have them repaired when the time came so I moved on to newer amps. The reissue amp sounds every bit as good as the originals and in my opinion has the same "feel". The upside of the reissue is the consistency to the sound, my original amps were temperamental and required a lot of tweaking day to day, so far this one does not, could be age difference or just the stability of the new components. If you are into the "Mark" amp sound you csnt go wrong, I've had almost every iteration of Mark series amp including the JP2C and this is definitely my sound. If you're concerned it doesn't live up to original you will be pleasantly surprised. Don't hesitate if you are considering one of these amps.
