Sound Devices MX-PSU - USB-C Power Supply Reviews
You're on the go, recording, mixing, monitoring — and while you might only need a quick snack to keep yourself going, you can't power your MixPre-3 the same way. That's why Sound Devices offers the MX-Charge multinational power adapter, specifically designed to provide USB-C power to your MixPre-3 or MixPre-6 mobile audio recorder. You get adapter plugs for the US, UK, Australia, and Europe, so you can power up and rock on, even when your batteries run out of juice.

No need for batteries when near a power source
The price may seem a bit high for a power brick, but consider how much money you'll save on batteries when you get this. And since it is from the manufacturer, you know that the power will be solid (as it has been for me). Reliable power is actually very very important for good audio quality so the electronic audio circuits can run at peak efficiency to sound their best. This power brick is the most reliable way to power your MixPre device to get the best sound possible out of it and have peace of mind. If you have a MixPre-3 or 6, just get it.
For the person complaining about how it doesn't charge rechargeable batteries, that is ridiculous since charging devices require power management. Nowhere does this claim to offer charging for rechargeable batteries (which I would NEVER use anyway since they degrade significantly over time). I get the Lithium AA's when I do use batteries...
An adapter with plenty of adapters
The power supply works as designed. What blew me away were all the international adapters included in the set. Now if only my dream of being an international pianist could come true! At least I"ll be able to use my MixPre3 without a hiccup....
Don't Bother
Well, it works... but it doesn't charge LiOn batteries, which, other than the ridiculous cost of the battery sled, is a better option for powering the MixPre. I'll probably never use this power supply unless I find a studio application for the MixPre (I use it for remote recording exclusively).
Save your money for the battery sled.
