The congregation loved this upgrade, we have a number of soft spoken and otherwise hard to capture voices among our Lector staff. We replace another 20 year old microphone, that had frankly worn out - while it's still produced we opted for this as an upgrade due to our recent foray into webcasting our mass. Very successful install - the only pain I encountered on install an eq'ing was the large mounting hole for the dampening ring - couldn't make it fit in the pedestal. So luckily they included a standard bottom through mount and it has worked wonderfully.

Shure MX418/S
Purchased two Shure MX418/S mics for out church (Ambo and Cantor applications), and this mic is wonderful! I replaced two old Shure dynamic mics, which had been susceptible to "behind the mic" pick-up allowing potential feedback, with these Shure MX418/S's and their Supercardioid pattern performed beautifully! Also, virtually soundless movement of this mic to position to various lectors was a perfect fit!

The Gooseneck that could
This was installed in a small church envioriment. Before installation a wireless mike was passed back and forth between Song leader and Pastor. After this microphone was installed the service flows so much better. The Shure Mx418/s is used exclusively until the Pastor starts his sermon and then the wireless mic is used. Of course helping the new Shure mic was also a new Mackie mixer which is fantastic.

Shure MX418/S gooseneck mics
We purchased to get more gain- before-feedback for our pulpit and lecturn. Lay speakers were not being heard. The old mics were supposed to be cardioid but we"re performing more like omni"s. The new units are great.
Pulpit mic
So far so good. This mic makes a big difference during church service.
No screeching preaching any more
The size and color make this mic almost invisible, you would hardly know it was there except for the amazing way it produces sound. This is quite the mic for the money.
A very good mic for the job
I purchased this mic for use at a pulpit in a church to simplify our setup. Our worship pastor would be the one who would experience the most change. The first time we used it in a service, his eyes lit up and he remarked, "I haven't heard my voice that clearly in a long time." It was an excellent purchase.
Satisfied
Tjos mic has been very impressive. We use it in a church fellowship center that seats 360 with 26 speakers in the ceiling and it works very well with no umusual back feed issues. It picks up extremely well and sounds great.
