Great Podium Mic!
I needed to replace a few podium mics due to the goosenecks loosing rigidity and chose the Shure MX412S/S. most of my pod mics were an AT model that I really like, but are no longer made. I had one of these and liked it, so I mad the decision to replace my worn out fleet with these. The Pros - dual gooseneck allows better positioning, on/off switch allows you to see that phantom is applied, if the mic is on or off, and also allows side conversations to be muted, replaceable windscreens that snap into place and don't slide off, and they are not as long as some other gooseneck mics. This means they are a little bit further away from the talent and plosive popping sounds are reduced. They have a great pickup pattern and neutral tone allowing for very good gain before feedback.. They also come with two in-desk mounting options. (the shock mount option works very well isolating noises transmitted from the podium)
Cons - they will still pop if too close, and you need to buy a clip if you choose to mount this on a mic stand.
I recommend the AKG SA60 for stand mounting this mic.
