Perfect for our application

By David Scott from Tennessee, IL on December 21, 2023

This mic exceeded my expectations for a pulpit mic at our church; the performance is excellent; the form factor is excellent; needed it to be small so not noticeable on our videos and yet pick up spoken word clearly. Yes on both. Very pleased with purchase.

great sound!

Shure Bet

I didn't have high expectations for a podium mic but I'm very impressed with this one. We needed something sleek and unobtrusive, preferably something that didn't need a windscreen - a backup for our wireless earworn system that could also double as duty for guests at the podium without the awkward hand mic baton pass. This did the trick. First day out and nobody complained about the add-on and the sound was good. We went with the supercardioid pattern for better gain before feedback. That worked and we were even able to run without a windscreen. Double-yay! A mic like this requires an expert dialing-in at the mixer to maximize performance. Set your gain and EQ and throw in a noise gate and you're in business.

Great Pulpit microphone

By Chet Klope from New Jersey, USA on April 30, 2014 Music Background: Church Pastor

We were looking for a microphone to mount on a pulpit/lectern that we only occasionally use. A previous model was permanently attached to the pulpit and had a very light weight cable. Every time we moved the pulpit to store it elsewhere we were worrying about botht he mic and the cable.

This mic was simple to mount, though you need a 1 & 3/4 hole saw. Once the mount is in place the mic and a standard xlr cable are easily attached/detached. Exactly what we were looking for.

The sound quality and shock mount were excellent. No hand or paper turning noises are picked up from the pulpit at all. The pick-up worked well with several different people using it at the same service, ranging from a 6'4' man to a 5'4' woman. Picked up everyone with no need to adjust the microphone itself and little do no adjustments made by sound man for levels.

Absolutely would buy another one fo these.

Worth of money!!!

This is probably the best microphone on the market in this price range. I would recommend it to anybody.

A wonderfully appreciated change to be sure!

Great product for a great price.

Has a stronger pick up than our old gooseneck mic. Has solved 75% of our problem with hearing people speak at the podium. We have a lot of different people reading at the podium and 95% of them don't remember to reposition the mic. The MX412/S has a wider range and picks up voices away from the tip of the mic with great clarity!
