A good solution to a problem most users don't have
My wife and I are ham radio operators and we use remote stations for some of our HF work. We were using the excellent MV51 microphone but usb cords aren't as tight as xlr connections, and I had a tendency to pull out the cord when handing a microphone to my wife. This Audio Interface allows us to connect our Shure SM86 microphone to our computer. As anyone knows xlr connections are very robust. The SM86 is a great microphone and I got a complement from the person running today's net.
So, most people won't need to move from a very good usb microphone to this kind of setup but for those who do, I recommend this completely.
Great piece of equuipment
We use this to boost the sound while streaming our church services. It has a 2 year warranty and wouldn't you know that our first one went out at about 2 years and 4 months. Great piece of equipment. I would definitely buy again and did.

Perfectly Compact
When I travel these days I have a laptop loaded with most of my recording and mastering programs and had been searching for a reliable and small interface. This unit is PERFECT! Plug and play. I was impressed how monitoring is wonderfully transparent and how easy it is to use. Shure is a trusted mainstay in the music world and this interface reflects that trust.
The ideal single-channel interface for Linux users
I needed a single-channel mic interface for online training, consulting teleconferencing, and demo video voiceovers. Finding one that would work well with my Linux workstation, with a mute button and a reasonable quality preamp and ADC, took me a long time, but the Shure MVI is exactly what I needed. I don't think Linux is officially supported, so you probably can't expect Shure to troubleshoot it, but being a class compliant USB device, it has just worked for me without any additional software or configuration.
