I have a pretty nice mic locker - U87's, an old tube U47, Earthworks, AKG 414's, Ear Trumpets, etc., But far and away, the Shure MV88 gets used the most. If I have an idea that merits more than the standard iPhone recording, I plug in the MV88, hit record, move the file to my DAW and it's better than demo quality. I love this thing. It works flawlessly with my iPhone and iPad.

I've attached a video link. I'm not a singer by any means but the MV88 and a little bit of post in my DAW produces pretty acceptable results. Everyone who records should own one.

This mic is what I was looking for out of pure simplicity. The iPhone speaker has poor audio but good video. This bridges that gap for me and doesn't take anytime to do so messing with software or other programs. For me, it's worth it and I'm glad I purchased it. I'm sure there are better mics or softwares out there for the more capable guitarists but this works for me. Just use the app that comes with the mic and it's very simple.

Excellent quality as only Shure does. very easy to set up , clarity in recording is excellent. would definitely recommend.

I was hanging out with some great musicians doing open jam nights and we were all joking about how we came up with these great grooves but we will forget them by tomorrow. Not with the MV88+Video. The iPhone app has great presets and you can fully adjust the mic for any situation, band practice, two way conversations, vlogging, etc.. The settings are written to the mic so you can just hand the rig to a friend and let them start recording with their phone. You can hear and see your performance which is just awesome. Get yourself an MV88, you won't be disappointed!

I needed a microphone that was portable, super easy to use and sounded great for recording and going live on my iPhone. I am very picky, and I am very happy with this microphone. The initial setup was very intuitive - it practically set itself up - and most importantly it sounds great. I did a test with Facebook live, and the audio quality was the best I've been able to get.

The stand was a little tricky to figure out. I needed some support with that. The stand can only hold my iPhone in landscape mode, not portrait mode, which makes it impossible for shooting video for several social media applications.

Both the video software and the Mic software. I'm having difficulty using with a pixel 6. It freezes up shuts down. No controls. So far not thrilled with it and disappointed I didn't go with Sennheiser...

Took this mic on the band gig last Saturday and everyone was asking about how did I get such great sounding out my Iphone Pro13. The MV 88 + is the answer, great mic at very reasonable cost and the kit that comes with is solid.

Love these mics and the entire setup.

The mic and mount are great. The software is very user-friendly.
However the first time I tried to record my band using it when I turned off the recorder it would not save the file and I lost the whole recording. I tried to get technical assistance from Sweetwater and never heard back from anybody.
I eventually just use the photos app in my phone to do the recording and then it saved OK but I would like to use Scherz software to record but I can't do that if I'm gonna lose everything.
So overall a good item but I can't trust recording software and I'm disappointed in Sweetwater's customer support.

I was brought onboard to help improve the quality of scripted podcasts that were being done in-house by a corporation. We purchased and distributed these mic sets to the executives recording their respective parts on their iPhones. We ended up not using the ShurePlus Motiv app, even though it works very well, using the mics out of the box on another recording app that was simpler to operate. Fortunately the MV88+ worked transparently with the selected app. We did sessions via video conferencing, and I walked the participants through setting up their mics and software to record at 48khz 24bit WAV format and to send the files via download link to the production staff.
The MV88+s worked flawlessly in the field and gave me much better audio source material than is customary in this kind of situation to do the edits.
I will note that I had the participants use the windscreen. I think it sounded better with it, saving me from some of the excess sibilance that tends to plague these kinds of recordings.
The mount and tripod arrangement is perfect for desktop recording, making it a well integrated, one-box solution. Just add your smartphone and go!
For this kind of application the MV88+ really shines.
