Schecter MV-6 Electric Guitar - Metallic Purple with Ebony Fingerboard Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Basswood Body, Wenge Neck, Ebony Fingerboard, 2-point Tremolo, and 3 Single-coil HS-style Pickups - Metallic Purple

Don’t let the Schecter MV-6’s modest looks fool you — this unique powerhouse axe is set for stun! The MV-6’s 24-fret fingerboard, “Thin C” neck profile, and contoured neck heel offer maximum range for solos and riffs while keeping your playing fluid as can be. Extra-jumbo fingerboard frets ensure smooth, seamless bends and a 2-point tremolo system can kick your solos up a notch with wails and dives. But these player-focused features are onboard to support the MV-6’s real star: a modified 5-way “HS” pickup system powered by three Diamond 351 single-coil pickups. This “HS” configuration delivers that must-have bridge humbucker tone without sacrificing your ability to switch to true single-coils on a whim. Moreover, the MV-6’s middle position offers a modified take on “middle” pickup tone, a favorite for soaring solos onstage and in the studio. If you’re in search of a stealthy axe that shreds seamlessly but blends into a crowd, the Schecter MV-6 from Sweetwater is calling your name!

Ridiculous for the price.

I've had this guitar for 6 months or so now. Absolutely love it. The wenge neck feels amazing (one of my favorite neck woods). The neck profile is very nice to me. Thin and shredder like but not too thin. Thinner than a strat but not as thin as a wizard neck. Nice and flat radius.one of the most comfortable necks I've played in a long time specially at this price. The main deal about these guitars is obviously the pick up arrangement and wiring. I was very surprised at how versatile the pickup are. The first position surprisingly has an amazing humbucker tone that can handle the brutal distorted stuff to a very mellow blues tone. I personally enjoy the 3rd position myself for the bluesy stuff, as it's similar to the 4th position in Strats but a bit brighter for obvious reasons. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone who loves a more modern strat/super strat for a decent price. Perfect shredder/leads player and great for versatility. I might buy another just to have at my family's place when I go to visit there.

Outstanding Super Strat for the price!

I've owned a few Schecters over the years and have always been impressed with their quality and craftsmanship. This time is no different!

I've had my MV-6 a few days and it's hard to put down. I mostly play baritone guitars (6, 7 and 8) and play in low tunings so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Its been years since I had a standard scale guitar in my collection and I really wanted something unique, versatile and fun to play-regardless of the style or genre. This model absolutely hits the spot! The wenge neck is absolutely gorgeous. Super smooth and comfortable to play. The ebony fretboard looks and feels amazing and the fretwork is solid for this price point as well. Schecter is absolutely killing right now! You won't regret buying one of these.

A few minor things I noticed:

Tuning machines/locking tuners both feel and look a bit cheap compared to the rest of the hardware on this guitar. Bridge, pickup selector switch, input jack... all pretty solid. The tuning machines and locking mechanism aren't fantastic but it's not that big of a deal since tuning stability is decent. Regardless, I'll probably switch those out along with the volume and tone knob at some point. The latter just for looks.

The last thing is a bit comical... But I really wish guitars that have pick guards weren't shipped out with plastic film all over it! Quite annoying to eliminate in some spots. My advice is use a thin guitar pick and gently work the volume and tone knobs out from underneath so you can pop them off and remove most of it.

Overall, absolutely amazing guitar and even more impressive in person. Well done Schecter! Thanks to my Sweetwater rep Delvin for hooking me up with one of these!!
