Works great

By Ash Roper from Georgia on September 16, 2021 Music Background: Multi-instrumentalist

Looks clean, simple, well built and works. Very very good for the price point, I do recommend to anyone that needs an audio interface to get this instead of something 2x the price such as the Focusrite; this does the exact same thing.

DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS FIRST!!

By Eric Estrada from IL on May 1, 2021 Music Background: Local musician since 2003

As the title states, DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS FIRST. Don't plug it into your computer without having downloaded and installed the drivers from M-Audio's website. Once this is done, the plug and play part is fairly easy. I didn't bother with the software. I already have a sub for the standard Pro Tools. This is a huge upgrade from my M-Audio Fast Track that I got back in high school in the early/mid 2000's. I used the FastTrack to do quick arrangements for my band and the Duo will help me by adding a second channel to connect both my synths for even faster workflow. It's perfect for what I need and it arrived way quicker than I had anticipated.

Bang for buck!

Plenty of headroom, clean sound.

I fits well a voice and guitar project

By Chuck Oliveira from New Rochelle, NY on May 18, 2021 Music Background: Singer, Arranger, Guitar Player.

M-Track Due fits very well my voice and guitar projects. It is easy to control; I had no undesirable noise in my recordings. The price is reasonable. I recommend this interface to those who record podcasts and simple projects.

Good beginner box

By dam on December 23, 2021

My first try at using a USB Audio Interface, and so far, so good. The box is what I expected from online reviews so I am not disappointed by the cheap feel of the unit. Features work as advertised. my only gripe is the AVID Pro Tool-First free software is no longer included in the bundle. AVID apparently weren't getting anything from this arrangement.

The substitute is Air Creative Collection, which need to be installed into a DAW (Free Garageband or Audacity).
M-Audio website description for Air Music Collection as follows:

Air Music Technology originally created the Creative Collection as the reference plug-ins for Avid™ Pro Tools™.
These highly claimed instruments and FX are now available in AU and VST formats for use in any DAW.

It works-until it doesn’t!

By david king from Lufkin, TX on June 14, 2022

Had it for about 3 months and every day up until today it's worked fine! All of a sudden I'm hit with odd alien noises that would make Ed O'Brien jealous and red lights on the interface.

Basic Value but lacking some i/o quality

By Michael Vargo from Redwood city, CA on January 4, 2021

USB Drivers for Linux (jack) worked plug and play. Headphone amp is very weak. Have to have it at 10 to get similar level to the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 volume at 5. I'm using it for some real time audio over the internet app and had to modify the software to add up to 12 dB of gain to make up for the weak headphone output.

I also note that the gain pots on the top are top heavy. The action from 8 to 10 is double that of the from 0-8. Not really sure. The pots mechanically feel fine, but the behavior just feels off. Like 0 is not close to zero.

The input selector for the inputs also does not seem to have nearly the impact as the one on the Scarlet.

I was really hoping for an economic alternative to the 2i2. Just a shame that some attention to these basic I/O details was lacking. Maybe a software update could fix this stuff?

Great price, iffy drivers

By Dave in Lansing, MI on December 25, 2020

Got mine yesterday. Drivers are a little iffy (lost sound to headphones a couple of times, had to unplug USB, or reinstall the drivers), and headphone amp isn't very powerful (compared to my Motu M2, which I LOVE). But otherwise seems like a pretty solid unit. I'm sure the driver issue will get resolved shortly, so not too concerned about that. Seemed to lose connectivity if I switched between my DAW and basic Windows functions (Windows media player would say it can't play a file, or it would say the Duo was connected and selected as primary sound device, but sound would come out of my laptop speakers???). I still think it's worth picking one up, and just deal with the quirks until the drivers improve. For $69, it's a good buy.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

By Will from IN on June 2, 2023 Music Background: Guitar and home recording

I repeat, DO NOT BUY THIS!!! I bought this not even a year ago and I got the red lights of death today. No sound going in or coming out. You're better off spending your money elsewhere. Buy a Focusrite instead.
