Great value

By Sweetwater Customer on April 25, 2024

Using these with Neumann KH310s (about 30 pounds each). Stable, no need to fill with lead or sand. Very satisfied.

Sturdy stands

By Jack on September 9, 2022 Music Background: Novice

Well made and easy assembly. I am using with small monitors (Adam A7) but the tripod bases could handle more especially if you fill the pedestal with sand or shot. Rubber decouple pads on the feet and speaker base saves an additional purchase. Overall, I am happy with the design and build quality.

WELL MADE

By Sweetwater Customer on November 2, 2021

A rare review: These stands are a blast from the past - back when things were well-made. If you can afford them, know that you'll get your money's worth. Easy to assemble. Heavy. Sturdy. Might last a lifetime, depending on how old you are. I guess that's it.

Look great and rock solid

By Baker Jake from Maple Valley, WA on August 11, 2021

I bought these as a solution to get my monitors off of my desk, and I'm completely happy with them. They go together easy, look great, and are extremely stable, even without the added ballast. The monitors sit nicely on them, and are at a perfect height for my ears. With dogs that occasionally get the "zoomies" and tear through the house, the cable management feature has already prevented a couple of potential catastrophes.

Killer Monitor stands

By Paul Hanson(smucker) from Massillon,Ohio on May 8, 2021 Music Background: Hobby

Wasn't sure what to expect far as how sturdy they be with 8in monitors but there rock solid and well built and id highly recommend these stands

Too Fancy but Works Great

By Ken Bennett from Gainesville, GA on January 31, 2021 Music Background: Musician/Songwriter/Engineer

When I first set these up I thought they looked a little too slick for my rustic studio. But they work so well! The base is decoupled from the (concrete) floor. The post is decoupled from the base. The stand is decoupled from the post. And the speakers are decoupled from the stand. The result is that your ears are decoupled from the speakers. The music seems to float in the air.

Monitor Stands

By Dave Reynolds on March 15, 2019 Music Background: Composer, Performer, Educator

These stands are absolutely fantastic for my studio. They're incredibly sturdy, and have great support. At the same time they maintain their ability to suspend the speakers as not to affect their sound production in any way, shape, or form. I'm very happy with the design, and knowing that I can greatly increase their weight and stability by filling them with sand etc. if need be. Their is no indication that I'm hearing anything but the speaker themselves. The stands are proving to maintain sonic separation. I love that you can thread your cables through the supports - it makes for a super clean, neat, and tidy studio environment.

These are Great!

By Sweetwater Customer on March 8, 2019

Good looking, strong, can't ask for much else. I use them with a pair of JBL 6.5" monitors, but I think these could easily support 10 times the weight.

Great Purchase

By J Gary Thompson from Dayton, OH on August 17, 2018 Music Background: composer, sound designer, mix engineer, producer

I've had a pair of these speaker stands in my studio for 3 years, and they are great. I added an isolation pad with a slight angle to accommodate my seated position (should have bought the ones with the built-in adjustable isolation pads). These stands improved my bass response and stereo focus. I did use sand inside the center column for extra ballast and dampening.

I am going to purchase two more for speakers I added to my studio.

Love them!

By Brian Saltos from Bronx, NY on July 27, 2018 Music Background: Band Director/Church

I recently did some work on wood floors for my room and needed some good stands for my Yamaha HS5's. I called my sales rep Cody who recommended these. Sturdy, don't take up too much space and keeps all the wiring neat.

Great Value

Ultimate Support MS-90 - 36" Tall, Black Finish

By DNM from Maplewood, MN on December 8, 2017 Music Background: Amateur

Excellent stands. There are cheaper stands available, but these Ultimate stands are well worth the higher price. Speakers are JBL LSR305. The decoupling pads fully support these 5" speakers. Carpet spikes are useful. Just pull off the heavy duty rubber decouplers on the feet. Hex key included for assembly.

Great Stands!

By Robert from Georgia on November 9, 2017

These stands are awesome. I love the fact that you can hide the wires inside for a very neat appearance. My 8" KRK's fit perfectly. Very well made product.

Superb Customer Service

By Adam from New York on October 8, 2017

My stands had an issue where there were some small scuff marks on the columns. Customer service responded the same day and replacements were sent out as soon as they were back in stock.
They really are awesome stands, well worth the price. I would not hesitate to buy again from this company

Awesome stands

By Darrin P. from Hastings, MN on October 6, 2017

I have a couple pair of the cheaper stands. I have used them with MoPads and Isoacoustic stands to get better decoupling. I have 5, 6.5 and 8 inch monitors and i really dont like how stable the feel on the cheaper stands. I also didn' t think it bothered me that the cheaper stands dont have much for cable management. I could always zip tie the cables to the stands.

I got these stands to pair with a couple HS8's. I wanted some good monitors in my work/office area so i could play guitar and listen to music. My desk is in the middle of the room and i set up these stands at the corners in front of the desk facing me. Measured out the perfect triangle and the MS90's 36inch are at the perfect height without having to adjust my chair. The cables come out in the middle of the base and since there on the edge of a rug i could run the cables under it to my interface. You cant see the cables at all other than where there plugged in on the back of the monitors. The most amazing part is while i was setting up one of the monitors i backed into the other monitor already on its stand and it was so sturdy and didn't budge. The cheaper stands would have wobbled so easily and the monitor would of hit the floor but not with these. And another reason these are awesome is they look perfect in the room. I was going to get red ones but i went with black because i got the black monitors and my desk is black im really glad i did. I walked into my office today and it seriously looked liked it was professionally set up i still cant believe how nice it is. I wish i would have bought these years ago. I will be getting a couple more sets when i redo my music room next spring. MS90's are sturdy and stable and decouple better than everything else im using or have used and they look like a sleek beautiful piece of furniture. They are now my go to stands and i think they are ten times better than their price would suggest.

Excellent product

By Steve Moulton from Windsor, Massachusetts on April 10, 2016

I searched quite a while before I decided to give the Ultimate Support MS-90's Monitor stands a shot. It was a great decision. These stands are build to last, look great and supply the stability I was looking for. The assembly was easy and all assembly tools included. I filled the main chamber with sand as suggested and they are not top heavy at all. I put them in my studio and they look excellent. My monitors (Focal Alpha 65's) fit perfectly on the isolation pads and the complete assembly is rock solid. I'm glad I chose these stands as they meet my requirements perfectly. If you're looking for a quality monitor stand, look no further than these. Also, Sweetwater delivery quickly as usual. The combination of Sweetwater and these Ultimate Support MS-90's can't be beat.

Awesome speaker stands!

By Big Marv from Los Angeles on February 21, 2016 Music Background: Music producer, singer, songwriter!

I recently purchased the Ultimate Speak Stands 36" for my home studio and all I can say is WOW! There absolutely awesome! I placed my KRK VXT 8" on them and they support their heavyweight with ease! I recommend changing your old speaker stands for them. You'll be glad you did!

Awesome!

By Sweetwater Customer from West Palm Beach on June 8, 2015 Music Background: Audio Engineer/Producer

These stands are awesome. I filled mine up with sand and have no worries of it tipping over; they are very sturdy. I've had no need to buy additional decoupling foam or pads as it's built in. Finally, I have 2 less cables to look at.

Love 'em

By kell from Florida, USA on January 16, 2013 Music Background: Semi pro arranger/mix engineer

Filled mine with concrete mix (more dense/heavier than sand per volume). They're very stable, and mine had no cosmetic flaws.
It seems to be a dynaudio crowd in here...mine are supporting a pair of bm5a mkIIs. Imaging and clarity were markedly improved versus having them on a desk w/mopads.

A neat tip that makes angling your monitors easier (assuming you're using an equilateral triangle) :
Place the front and rear inner feet (the ones closest to the center line) of the stands in a straight line perpendicular to the wall behind them. Adjust your distances as necessary, and the end result will be that the stands are pointing right about where they should be (each at a 30 degree angle from the center line @ mix position).

As always, my Sweetwater guy Mac was awesome!

Excellent stands, in both quality and design

By John Bonnell from Oklahoma, USA on October 10, 2012 Music Background: Pro Musician, Recording Engineer

Very well made, and well designed. With or without filling with sand they are stable and solid. Filling with sand adds the right amount of centralized weight and deadening. They hold about 10 small drinking cups of sand each, I'm guessing 3-5 pounds worth.

Aside from some minor finishing defects on the back of one stand (the defects aren't very visible, but can felt and will grab cloth), they look great. Very "studio" in appearance. They are almost invisible in a way, both visually, and sonically. Strictly speaking, the height (with rubber feet) is about 1/4" to 1/2" taller than 36".

In use, they are proving to be exactly what I was after. I had looked at every other stand made, and decided on these over much more expensive stands. While made in China, the QC seems top notch, aside from the aforementioned cosmetic issue.

Assembly was simple and straightforward. They fit my Dynaudio BM6 monitors perfectly.

Amazing Stands

By Gunar from Johnson City, TN USA on May 14, 2012 Music Background: Producer

I have a unique home production studio and have went through many different stands trying to find the fit for me. These stands will go great in any circumstance. I HIGHLY suggest these.

Outstanding! Pun intended.

By Stephen from Shreveport, La on March 29, 2012 Music Background: Engineer/ musician

This is a sick pair of stands! Impressed by the construction. Using with a pair of Rokit powered 8's and they are well supported. No worries about tipping over. Balance is excellent.

Great product !!!

Ultimate Support MS90 36B Studio Monitor Stands

By Mike Hoff from Bainbridge Island WA on October 6, 2020 Music Background: Guitarist

First of all, I was genuinely impressed with the sound difference - the isolation pads and dampeners work really well! Secondly, the stands were easy to assemble, nice looking, made economical use of space, and readily support my KRK V6 active studio monitor speakers. I added extra weight to the stands by placing small bags of sand into the inner space designed for that purpose, and that helps protect the stands from tipping if accidentally bumped into.

Improvement opportunities: (1) the transit channels for the audio and power cords could stand to be a tad larger - I needed to fish the power cord thru with needle-nose pliers, and (2) a couple inches of height adjustment each way would be nice.

Nice

By Terrance D Wardlaw from IL on October 20, 2018 Music Background: Hobby

Mine had scratches ... I didnt call Sweetwater about it ... too focused on the damage to the desk I got ... but all I can say is my JBLs sound much better and these stands are pretty sexy ... low profile ... out of the way ... I really like them ... cable management is a plus as well as a way to add more weight

Work Great, Look Great

By Dean from Georgia on March 12, 2018 Music Background: 40 years as a musician and small studio owner.

I was looking for a pair of stands to get my monitors off my desk and saw these. I have made my own in the past but these looked so solid I thought I'd give them a try, glad I did.

They match my desk, fit well in my studio space, and provide a sturdy option to having my monitors crowd my desk.

Built in decoupling pads are the icing on the cake!

Thank Brent!

best value stand out there

outSTANDing

By J from Mountains of NC on May 29, 2013 Music Background: Engineer / Electronic Musician

I use the KRK XT8 speakers which are anything but light weight. I have a medium pile rug in the studio and was a little wary of placing such heavy speakers atop of these stands. But once they were up and on the stands, they sat perfectly still and solid. No worries at all ever since and the sound is a TON better than having them on the desk. 4.5 stars instead of 5? The ONLY thing I was dinged with was when I was trying to route the power cord head through the tube. There is just enough room to fit it through but at the ends of the tube, there is a plate that you screw down and it has a rubber buffer between it and the tube. Once you tighten it down it flexes (bows) the rubber and it gets in the way of the power cord. So between the tight fit and the rubber, I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to grab the cord and pull it through. Honestly, it is so minor that it doesn't even show up on the radar, but I just wanted to be thorough because that's how engineers are ;-)

Great Solid Stands

By Tom Hughes from Somerville NJ on April 19, 2012 Music Background: Recording Engineer,

Great stands for the price. Construction is solid. Finish is near perfect in all reguards. Went together in about 1/2 hour and i took my time.
Using with primacoustics pads - a bit of overkill but hey used to desk mount and i wasn't going to stop using them, i figues extra decoupling couldn't heart.
Image and sound is near perfect for my small mixing room. Clear and Crisp for my Dynaudio Bm6a's Base is super solid, image is deep very 3D. All the mud is gone focus, focus, focus.

Good stand

By Boris from Florida on August 13, 2018 Music Background: Professional Mixer engineer

My short review is that this Is a good stands for near field monitors, works as advertised, is not made for larger, heavier speakers but rather smallish monitors as the base of the stand is somewhat narrow and could be a little wider, they claim to support a weight of 75 lbs but I think that is debatable, I give it 4 stars for these observations but also because the paint job on the actual aluminum section of the stand was faulty, rather thin paint job and defective in some points as you could see the aluminum under the black paint, this can mean nothing to you as it will probably would not be noticeable once its placed in a corner of your studio behind your desk but it means that it could be better in my opinion. All in perspective is a good product if you won't use it with a larger monitor, I have a Dynaudio BM5 monitor, I would think that it will work Ok on 7 to 8 in. monitors

MS-90 Review

By Daniel from Maui, Hawaii on August 3, 2018

The Ultimate Support MS-90 are proving to be great stands for my new PreSonus Eris E8 monitors.
Really stable and they have a classy look to them.
The only reason I did not give these stands five stars is due to the absence of built-in levelers. I wished the spikes can be turned in order to make them level, but the stands do not have that feature.
Other than that, they are really good.

Great Stands

By KB on April 27, 2017

Very good quality speaker stands. They look very nice in the living room and support my rather large monitors very well. The CS from Sweetwater was truly Outstanding !

solid

By Nick Orr from United States on March 1, 2013 Music Background: recording engineer (weekend warrior)

Solid stands for my focal cms 65`s. Sure you can build your own for cheaper but if you got the money buy it. All solid steel build and zero cheep workarounds. If you want to keep your speakers on a solid platform these are great and look very sleek.
