The Zoom multi stomp was shipped quickly, arrived intact, at a decent price. The pedal is well built. It has tons of effects built in. I would have posted 5 stars, but there were absolutely no operating, programming instructions. I went to YouTube to get started. And because of this, I'm still discovering easier ways to program effects. Great pedal, slow rollout.

I do give it props for having one effect none of the Zoom multi-FX pedals in the G or A lines have: the Z-Organ effect.

While it is superior to its predecessor in terms of scrolling through settings, the switches are too small for manipulation if one has feet larger than a size 3 or 4 narrow width.
That in and of itself makes it a no-go for my size 12 wide feet. I'll stick with the G1Four which has all of the functionality of this unit plus scrolling footswitches which can be used with the feet.

This one box does everything I want it to do for acoustic guitar. I wanted something with Comp-chorus-reverb and it's got all that plus a lot more. AA battery operation is a nice feature and it has a tuner. Grab your acoustic, this and a DI and go.

be advised – if you are purchasing this pedal to use with synthesizers or for any kind of stereo processing, you may not get what you want – most effects types will sum your signal to mono before processing, so any panning detail will be lost. having checked, i count only about 15 effect types that do not sum signal to mono (includes 2 choruses, 5 delays, 3 gates, 2 simple EQs), so that severely limits the use you can get out of this pedal if you don't want it to greatly simplify your sound. all compressors and limiters (the reason i bought this pedal) are mono! also the power jack is weirdly recessed into the pedal so none of my power supplies work with it... it's still a great deal (especially since you can chain those true stereo effects), is really well-built, and the display designs for each effect type are hella cute, but i suppose it's not the miracle i thought it would be, and i'll keep it for some chorus/delay stuff, instead of using as a limiter as i had hoped. oh well

I haven't spent a considerable amount of time researching and studying this unit but I can say it sure sounds good in the FX loop on my Fly Rig 5 v2. Biggest problem I have with this unit is how to correctly mash the right button with such limited space. One reviewer said that the patch select buttons should have been on the bottom row and I agree. As it is now, you have to step over the bottom row to get to the top row. I would imagine you could get better at it the more you worked at it, but there's another option that I read about...the Midibaby. Sweetwater sells it. This is an external controller set up footswitch style and you can select patches and turn FX off and on...much more in line with what I use on a gig. So, bringing the Midibaby to the dance might be the way to go. From what I've read this is a good match up. I think the Zoom needs this partner. Anybody that wants to check this out and confirm/deny the compatibility, please let us know as I believe this is the way to go....with this pedal.

I run this through my effects loop for the Tape Echo mostly.

It is nice to have a lot of effects on hand vs buying 5 pedals, modulation effects tend to get a little pricey.

It's also nice and quiet and the presets are fun to mess around with.

the reverb, chorus, and delay sounds are amazing. the other effects are alright. the 2 phasers are ok. the noise reduction and flanger suck, but everything else is pretty killer, especially for such a low price. it also has a handy tuner and 6 band eq. 8/10 would recommend.

As a bassist, this thing is a blessing. I don't need a bunch of individual modulation and reverb pedals and the like hogging my money and pedalboard real estate. This little box packs a shocking amount of utility for me.

Having tried out a few multi effects boxes from Zoom before including their b6 board, the new cdr+ is shockingly easy to use. The combination of arrow keys and clickable pots makes navigation and sound design a breeze. It makes me mad that it's smaller than the b6 but kinda easier to use. You could probably get this thing working how you want it to without even picking up the manual (although I still recommend reading it).

Definitely check out the list of effects on the Zoom website. That's where you'll find the info you'll really need. I've had this for a few weeks but I just realized today that there's a line selector and a little looper thingy. The pedal allows you to add a surprising amount of effects to one patch memory too.

Bottom line, if you're cool with digital sound and wanna save some money and space, grab this! My only gripe is that it is very power hungry and requires 500mA of juice. It can run on AA batteries though if you don't have a good power supply for it.

Pretty lovely pedal overall, there is also a dollar app to easily handle the patches inside the pedal more easily. The time based effects sound great for me personally. The greatest value for me it's to save space in time based effects with its 6 blocks. Also loving the handy pitch shifter. The utilities are also great like the EQs and the noise gate.

Although I love this pedal, it has a very deep power input and most right angled connectors won't reach. I had to use a straight connection but I worry it would easily wear and break overtime due to bending. Maybe some pedalboard Tetris could counter this issue.

Full of features. Onboard tuner is sweet!! Screen turns green when you're tuned. My only complaint is that it didn't come with an instruction manual. However, it did come with a HUGE warning and safe operation sheet in almost every language on the planet… I guess that's what YouTube is for????

After spending an hour or so with the learning curve (available in pdf format online but not included) I found that this pedal will probably replace the four stompers I normally use. I like that a lot. I found that I can sit it on top of the little amp I use and operate it by hand more easily than by foot. But it is easily operable by foot if desired. Up to six effects can be stacked as patches and recalled. Each patch has at least four settings which may be automatically saved if desired. Individual patches are easily pulled up either by foot or hand I'm looking forward to gigging with this device. Special thanks to my Sales Engineer Stephen "Dibbs" Dibbliee for his help in choosing and purchasing this pedal.

My primary instrument for my solo gigs is acoustic guitar. Through experimentation over the years, I found that four effects pedals, Graphic EQ, Compressor. Chorus and Reverb, were very useful to enhance the acoustic sound without sounding overly processed.

For many years I used four individual stomp box effects but the patch cables and power supply issues created some unreliability. A Multi-Effects pedal was far more reliable and easier to manage and set up at gigs.

My favorite multi-effect works great and has been a workhorse for many years. At $ with the need for fewer cables and power supplies, it was far more simple, compact and cost effective.

Recently I purchased this Zoom MS70CDR+ because the compact size reduces the amount of floor space and packing space needed and it has the four effects I use most.

After the initial tasks of downloading the Handy Guitar Lab App and purchasing the necessary USB adapter and USB cable, I was able to use the app to easily dial in settings almost identical to the presets I use on my much larger Multi-Effect pedal.

I highly recommend buying the necessary USB adapter and USB cable so you can use the "Handy Guitar Lab" App which greatly simplifies adjusting the unit, experimenting with the 140 effects and creating patches or presets. The pedal can store up to 100 "patches" with up to six of the effects in each patch. The onboard controls can do the same things as the APP but the process is far more tedious.

With the App it is easy to copy the effects in one patch and paste them into an empty patch and then tinker with the controls or swap other effects in and out of the patch chain. Changing the order of the effects in the chain is as easy as putting your finger on the effect and sliding it to a different position along the chain.

A final note, the USB adapter needed for the APP is an "Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter (MX5J3AM/A) and you will need a USB A to USB C cable with good data capability. Depending on the source, those two pieces can cost about $. You will also need to purchase the Zoom Handy Guitar Lab App.

I bought the Zoom MS-70CDR+ because I gave away the previous version and really missed the particle verb.
This new version has better sound quality and I like the buttons that can be accessed with your foot for switching programs (although) not easy with a big foot! The ability to chain 6 effects together is a plus as well.
I do miss however the ability cycle through programs with the big foot switch as per the previous version and have reached out to Zoom to include it back in a future update. Hope they do.
Another option would be is if you could change the mapping of the buttons to put the program change functionality in the front of the pedal instead behind the footswitch by the display which would make it easier to access/cycle through programs with your foot.
Otherwise, this pedal would have 5 stars. It's still an incredible value for the price point.

Howdy folks. Lots of people are interested in the MS-70CDR+ for processing synths.
I've had mine for a couple of days, connected as a send effect (mono in, stereo out) on my Zoom L6 Mixer.
My first takes are:
Levels: I have no problem with line level sends or return, everything comes in clean and hot running at line level.
Noise: Dead silent. No hiss. USBc connection (as with all rigs) can induce noise. I'm using a 9v supply, and it is absolutely silent.
Clarity/Frequency response: Crystal clear. Dialing in full dry in the effects chain with a single effect passes an essentially unchanged signal... I've A/B'd source and 'processed' dry and am impressed.
Effects quality: Very high. I haven't been through them all, but they all sound pretty darn good. The variation between different chorus algorithms can be pretty minimal, and the Duo Phase isn't as juicy as I'd hoped... but generally it sounds great.
Parameters/Tweaking: I find the range of some controls/settings to not be 'fine' enough for my liking. The Dynamic Delay, though fabulous, needs finer control of the ducking amount than it has, as well as depth.
All of the effects are initially set up for guitar signal chains where the pedal would be inline, and blending dry into the effected signal.
Since I'm using it as a send effect, I find myself having to dial the dry out in all the memories, which isn't a huge pain, and then the MS-70CDR+ plays very nicely as a send effect.

I hope this gives a quick idea for people looking, for the price I think it's a fantastic sounding pedal and I am very happy with my purchase.

Took me about a half hour to figure out how to use this beast. It sounds SO good. I was impressed when I heard it on YouTube but when you hear it live, you'll be amazed. (And... Sweetwater ROCKS!)

The MS-70CDR+ is a fine effects unit. Clear and vivid sounds and plenty of definition between effects. Works well stand alone and equally well with other effects.

In the decade since the original CDR 70 came out, I bought and sold it twice. The user interface was just too unintuitive for me.

This new version, the CDR 70+, is MUCH easier to use. The big, dumb buttons are easier to see and navigate. The fourth knob (the old one had three) means there are rarely more than two pages of parameters for an effect. The place where you navigate the effects puts modulations, delays, and reverbs in their own columns. The old pedal was just one long list so it took longer to find the effect you were looking for.

I love the way it sounds. I use isolated power and there's no buzz or whine. The effects are great and this pedal has cured a fair amount of gear lust for me. It makes me want to play instead of shopping for pedals, which is a gift. It has compressors and EQ and a couple of other non-C/D/R effects so it is an insane value.

I just ordered but I already know this is THE tool. I have a Zoom G1 and a Zoom G2, so I know all the sounds will be great. I really love the clean sounds, so to have the clean presets from G1 and G2 and Zoom library all in one pedal will be sweet. I already have three products that use USB Type C for power,so that is a fine feature. And this + model is a brand new upgrade. So, Happy Birthday to me and thanks Sweetwater!

WOW very cool I was looking for a reverb / delay combo type pedal something that I could use together. This is it with up to 6 different effects per patch. That is alot of different combinations. It also has alot of different modulation effects that are very cool to mix with reverb / delay. See the list of all the effects and patches 80 pre set patches and 20 user ones All kinds of different combination you can make up in any type of order. The only con so far is no effect pedal jack like to make swells or volume control on the fly or increase / decrease the strength of the effect like rotary effect speed. You have to use the assigned knob. Also small control screen I have poor eye sight Ok my fault. I have had the pedal for approx 2 week now it is a very good pedal for guitar or keyboard also mono or stereo jacks. Great for the panning or auto wah or shifting type effects. Yes I am very pleased with this pedal and all it can do. Thank You again Sweetwater for great gear Dennis A

I was waiting for this pedal for a while and when I heard the plus version had the ability to switch individual effects on and off and midi capabilities, plus more useable buttons, I thought Zoom was really listening to people and making needed improvements. As in prior versions, the sounds themselves and options are great but they completely missed the mark on making it midi compatible and easier to use. The midi is basically useless for anything other than connection to a computer and the fact it's omnichannel means it can't be used with any other midi devices - if it works at all. They also eliminated the ability to tag presets with "A", "B" , etc as on the old version to allow you to quickly access only the presets you want without having to scroll through everything. This is a big issue when trying to use it live when you never need hundreds of effects to switch through in a set. Now you have to use the up and down arrows and go through every single preset (which are apparently in random order!). Lots of other annoying things like when you edit an effect and go to save it, the default is the last effect you were in and not the one you just edited. This makes it hard to save it in the right place. I'm really hoping they address the midi (omnichannel is critical to make it useful and it needs to be much more reliable with non-computer midi such as modelers, other pedals, etc.). They also need to make the ability to see the preset you are on stay visible when not in preset mode. Wanted to love this but just can't. 5 for effect quality and variety. 1 for interface and ease of use and midi.

This is great for all the random effects I may need for songs we play. I'm pretty good with a 2ch amp and a drive pedal. But you always end up needing a random tremelo or a litte delay on your solo. This has it all. And bonus, the reverbs included are in the Strymon Cloub Burst ball park when you want to get abient.

Not user friendly at all. Had a horrible time setting it up. It just should not be this hard to use. It even kept freezing up on me and I would need to unplug it and stsrt over, it would just freeze and lock up with no inputs working.

I am very happy with this little pedal. There are so many effects and I know that as a guitar player, I won't be needing all of them. But there are a bunch of effects that sound amazing. I am currently using it at Hispanic church and I was looking for a pedal that could reproduce bachata guitar tones. I have successfully achieved that and, it makes me so happy knowing that I didn't break the bank. Also, the Handy guitar labs app is very useful and helps you change pedals easy.
The parameters are very good and is really easy to shape your tone. The zoom noise reduction feature is very useful as well(I did not lose any guitar tone when engaged)I really recommend this pedal. Truly amazing for the prize!!!!
