Great silent switch

By Micah from Livermore, CA

Perfect option if you either swapping personal mics at a stand, or just turning a spare off midset. No action at the mixing board required and no pop.

Great little switch

By playit l.

Needed a way to switch studio live room mic on and off in the control room. Put this on the floor under the console and boom, easy on - off! Built well enough to be switched with a foot, keeping my hands free for the console.

MS111 is a discontinued product and required repair

By Rodger R. from Lakeland, FL

MS111 is advertised as a latching/momentary in line mic switch. The included instruction do not explain how to modify the switch from latching to momentary. A search of the manufacturer's web site was of no help. The product is not listed.

As received the switch action was cockeyed. Upon opening the case, I discover the switch assembly (body) was coming apart. I pressed it back together and defeated the latching mechanism (I am a retired broadcast engineer and remembered how to defeat the latch upon inspection). The switch is no longer cockeyed and is momentary.

Hopefully the switch assembly will stay together with use. Maybe this is the reason the product was discontinued?

Talk Back

By Joe from Indianapolis
Music Background: Audio Video Production Director

I use this device as a talk back in my video recording sessions. I'm directing from outside the small studio we set up. I needed a simple way to communicate to the studio room. I have a sure sm48 plugged in and out to a smaller pa speaker in the studio and use it as a push to talk back during recording a session. I'm very happy with the results of this device as it's the right tool for me.

The Bentley of mute switches!

By Greg from Bradenton, Florida
Music Background: Broadcaster

See what I did there?

First, Will, the Engineer I talk to you on the phone about my needs, did a fabulous job of assessing what my needs were for my specific application, and then guiding me to the right product! He is really top-notch in how he deals with his customers!

And the switch he recommended, and that I purchased, is really exactly what I needed. I needed a smaller, portable, XLR mic mute switch, that didn't create an audible "click" when it was activated. But, it had to truly mute the microphone, and not just simply diminish the volume. And, of course, while I wanted it, small and effective, I didn't want to pay a huge amount for it.

Well, Will directed me to this unit, and it simply is great! And exactly what I needed!

Thanks Will, and thanks Sweetwater!

It's not a switch, it's a pad.

By Kenneth J. from Seattle

I ordered this item based upon peer review by my acquaintances on a daily Zoom meeting at OfficeHours.global Several of the folks there have these devices, so I thought I was being steered in the right direction. I also ordered a short XLR jumper, so I could conveniently put this item in-line with my audio channel. So far, so good.
The reason for the purchase was my dis-satisfaction with Zoom's software mute switch--my mouse pointer was never in the right place, it seemed, to unmute when I wanted to speak, so I opted for a hardware mute switch and left Zoom mute open all the time. I thought that would be the end of it.
I was surprised when, in that setup, I sneezed, or coughed, or something and another member of the meeting remarked that they could hear the disruption I caused--faintly, but present nevertheless.
That's not what a switch does. A switch is binary. This, according to my rather rudimentary measurements turns out to be a 60dB pad, more or less. Now 60dB is a bunch of loss, but it's not a complete mute.
It needs to be redesigned, or advertised as providing only a significant insertion loss when activated. It's not a mute switch.
