A good way to level up your mics to line input level
Our band is using IEMs, and our mixer has 16 XLR input, along with 2 1/4" TR/S inputs for plugging in an AUX audio source. Some players in the band complained about the sense of isolation in the ears; as if they were in a recording studio and they couldn't hear the room. We were out of channels to bring in room via the mic inputs, so this preamp let us put a condensor mic pointed at the crowd to get more of the sound of the room, and send that audio into track 17. Our band can now blend in room sound to taste.
