Best Design

By Kevin C. from Elk City OK
Music Background: music Is Life!!

I have 2 Temple pedalboards and I use multiple 4-way modules. The way Temple thought out their module process is in my opinion is the best performing pedalboard you can get. There's not another board that can be set up for what you need any better. My main pedalboard utilizes 3 of the 4 jack mods. 2 gtr inputs, 3 loops (s/r) for incorporating 3 Synergy syn2's to run each one in a separate loop on my ES-8. Main L/R outs, a separate acoustic line out, (I use JP-15's) and an exp pedal input to run my volume pedal. I also use the midi jacks to control midi channels on the Synergy amps and a BOSS GT-1000 core.Having the option of the passive direct boxes built into your board, is simply genius!!

Incredibly convenient!

By Bobby from Wilmington

This little box makes cable set up so quick. Fits perfectly snug into the side panel. A practical add-on purchase if you're buying a Temple Audio board and run an effects loop. I bundled 3 same-length cables with zip ties for amp input, fx send, and fx return. Now there's just one clean path from my board to my amp!

Great product with mounting fix.

By Mike from Lost Wages, NV

This is a fantastic product that streamlines your cables with a clean professional look. The problem with this product along with all of their products (I imagine) is the mounting solution with the short screws. The following was my fix and it worked perfectly but proceeded at your own risk, lol. The unit's mounting plate is aluminum with aluminum ears. I took a 5/16 drill bit and countersunk the inside of the ears BY HAND, no need to to use a drill. I removed about half the original thickness from the center of the hole. I used a dab of loctite on the screw and the end result was a firm sturdy mounted accessory.

Compact and Solid Connections

By Laurence D. from REDWOOD CITY, CA

Compact depth so it doesn't take up a lot of space under the board. The connections are quality and make a tight connection so accidental pull-outs are rare. It's a little pricey, but worth it.

ORGANIZE THE PEDAL BOARD

By Timothy H. from Montgomery, AL
Music Background: 25+ years playing metal guitar and life long gear junkie

Man... I've been playing for 25+ years, and despite my best efforts to rid myself of the headache of cabling HELL when it comes to real amps, pedals, and cabs; I just prefer the tone and feel of real gear over the digital alternatives. Its super easy to install and works great being the simple addition that it is. I have it installed on my board and labeled from left to right... GUITAR IN, AMP IN, SEND, RETURN and my signal chain is as follows:

1. I run a Mogami Platinum cable from guitar to GUITAR IN
2. I connect the GUITAR OUT directly to my Fortin Spliff
3. The ISO OUT of my Spliff is run to my Instrument Input on my Little Labs RedEye 3D to capture my dry DI signal
4. Then I route from my Splif OUT 2 to the KEY INPUT of my Fortin Zuul+ so my noise gate is keying on my purest signal
5. The Zuul+ KEY THRU is then routed to the first pedal of my chain of pedals in front of the amp
6. At the end of the pedals in front of the amplifier I route a cable to the backside of the module to the AMP IN jack
7. The AMP IN jack on the frontside of the module is then routed to my amplifier input
8. My amplifier SEND is connected to the SEND jack on the front side of the module labeled SEND
9. The SEND output on the backside of the module is then connected to my Zuul+ input
10. The Zuul+ output is then connected to the first pedal in the chain of time-based and modulation effects pedals
11. At the end of this chain I route the output to the RETURN jack on the backside of the module
12. The RETURN jack on the front side of the module is then routed the the amplifiers RETURN jack

Doing this allows all cabling to be centralized to a singular 4-way module making the pedalboard significantly more organized. Furthermore, the Instrument Out of the RedEye is then connected to the GUITAR IN on the back of my KHE ACS 4x4FX which allows me to reamp my signal through any combination of amplifier or cabinet that I want WITHOUT RECONFIGURING CABLES AT ALL!

This cheap little 4-way jack patch module is an INCREDIBLE addition to my pedalboard which when configured as I listed above, all the cables between the backside of the module are neatly organized underneath the Temple Audio TRIO, and the labling of the cables on the outside of the module make it DUMMY PROOF as far as just plugging into any amp, anywhere, at any time, with ease. I LOVE THIS MODULE!

The noisiest jack I've ever experienced.

By Matthew H. from ISSAQUAH, WA

Two reasons why this thing sucks: 1) Major parts of it are made of plastic, and because of that unshielded, and therefore it picks up noise very badly. I was tracing down why my rig had so much 60 Hz noise, and this jack ended up being the culprit. 2) The jack attaches by some very tiny - I think they are M2 - screws that thread into a very thin piece of aluminum. It hasn't broken yet, but I guarantee it will soon; the metal just isn't thick enough for more than a couple of threads.

It's really ashame, because along with the passthrough power port, this was the only reason why I bought a templeboard.

Solid!

By Wayne from Dallas TX USA
Music Background: Recreational (and very sporadically gigging) guitarist

I wanted a single input and optional outputs for my DIY pedalboard. The 4XMOD was the perfect solution. My guitar cable goes into jack #1, which starts the pedal chain, and then #4 goes straight out to my amp. I'm also using #3 to run a cable out to the foot switch port on my amp. I had a friend 3D print a mounting plate for the 4XMOD plus a USB-C (micro) coupler. The rest of the board is pretty rough, so this is easily the most professional-looking part of the entire project. :) A super clean, quiet, no-nonsense component for a (slightly) non-traditional application. Highly recommend!

You need this!

By Mike D. from Cincinnati
Music Background: Student of the guitar and apparently a gear nut

This is another piece of the puzzle that makes temple audio boards so awesome! If you're looking for a high quality, diy pedal board, is it! The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. I'm using the four cord set up. Guitar in and through a wah wah, compressor, overdrive/boost,SD-1,volume pedal and then out to the amp. The second set of in/out is send and return for my chorus and delay pedals

Just another cool accessory for the temple audio board

By Mike D. from Cincinnati
Music Background: Longtime student of the guitar. And

This was easy to install and understand. I use the first input from my guitar and then the signal goes through a crybaby wah, compressor,full-drive 2,ds-1,and a volume pedal and then out to the front of my amp. The second input and output are the send and return of my amp. I have a super chorus and a reverb pedal in that loop.

Great addition to my temple audio board

By MikeD from Cincinnati
Music Background: Student for @ three years. Hobby for a bit longer

This unit organizes my cables and looks great doing it! I have my guitar in, through a crybaby wah, compressor, overdrives, and a volume pedal and then out to the front of my amplifier. The second set of in/outs I use as send and return to my amps effects loop.

Clean. Simple.

By Nathan R. from MILL VALLEY, CA

This works as expected, but truly shines within the Temple Audio pedalboard ecosystem as it slots directly into the board keeping routing so clean. The writeable label boxes are a nice touch, if a bit small. The type of jack nuts they use are a good choice as it is possible to find them in different of colors to make cable routing even easier. I just wish the unit shipped with spares in different colors.

The device you never knew you needed!!

By KC from Oklahoma
Music Background: Too long to list!!

This is by FAR the best system for a floorboard for me. I use 2 of the 4-way jack plates to run different routings including L & R main out, FX loops,
amp control etc. I have the Temple duo 24 and if I ever need more space on a pedalboard, it will definitely be a Temple loaded with their modules!!

Easy to install, Easy to Use, no major issues.

By Danny from Oregon

The mounting screws are pretty short, so that's an area for modification/improvement but in general it does what it says on the box and if you use the four cable method reliably this is going to make life a lot easier for you overall.

Go read the manual to see expanded functionality

By Simon A. from CHICAGO, IL

This is more than just a 1 to 1 patch bay. The normalization of jacks with TS and TRS cables provides so much more value. I have this for my HX Stomp XL where two of the jacks receive mono signals from the main L/R outputs (from the thru of the DI box). The other two I have to TRS to TS splitter adapters patched in and connected the two rings to each other. FX send from Stomp goes to some pedals for side chain effects, to separate DI/LI box and thru, to one tip connection which will loop back to the rings back out to the other tip connection which returns into the Stomp FX return. Get a lot of flexibility to either side chain, DI/LI out, use 4CM, or audition external pedals without having to repatch. Just turn on pedals or plug in proper cables for desired outcome.

Must have for Temple boards

By Mark from Johns Creek, GA
Music Background: Weekend performer

I really think Temple should include these and the Power jack attachment on all boards but I realize not everyone has the same devices. In my case, I was connecting the 3 1/4" inches directly into pedals for the effects loop and front of amp input. The 2 pedals needed for connection were close and getting in off was cumbersome. So now it connects easily and looks more professional, plus I used colored tape to simplify.

Too much generated noise

By Tony from Arizona
Music Background: Experienced

Got tired of swapping pedals and rerouting power and signal lines so i took the time to methodically isolate one component at a time....finding this simple device was causing my noise issues certainly surprised me....will be looking for a buffered albeit more expensive solution

Good board addition but overpriced

By Joelster

Very cool addition to a Temple Audio board for cable control. Looks and fits very good, decent quality. These should be included on every board sold. The price is ridiculous. I would buy again - just plan on the added expense. I really like my Duo 24 board and the add-on modules are excellent.

Nice product but over-priced

By Joel H. from GRAND RAPIDS, MI

This is a very nice add on if you have a Temple pedalboard. The jacks and housing are plastic with a steel plate and the module mounts right on either side of the board. This is WAY over-priced at $

MINI MOD PATCH BAY

By Richard L. from Ann Arbor, MI

I didn't want a board larger than a DUO 24 but this made for a very tight "stuck with what you got" configuration. 2) 4-Way MINI MOD PATCH BAY to the Rescue. 2) 4-way jacks allow me to still add an effect or connect to another board. 1st 4-Way jack goes to the two effects loop on my GT-1000 core and the 2nd 4-Way goes to the four onboard effects. Beyond the four effects, there is a wireless receiver, Radial ABY switch, FS-6 Switch, and EV-30 pedal, and everything is placed so tight with flat ribbon right angle patch cables that there is no easy way to add another temporary pedal into the signal chain but with the 2) 4-Way Jacks give me back the Expansion Flexibility I need if the situation arises and we all know pedal addiction isn't going to be cured by choosing a smaller pedal board. The right side of the Temple board is the Patch Bay Mods, and the Left side is active DI for FOH and the other 2) 1/4' feed 2) KATANA Artist power amp in. The 3) USB outs connect to the PC easily. TEMPLE Audio MODS - Love Them!!

adds noise

By john m.

Not sure why or how but it adds noise. Not a cabling issue, that was eliminated as a possibility. Seems like a simple enough device , its just a pass through connector, one jack goes on, and another connects at the back and goes out. so why the added noise? seemingly others have similar experiences.

Super helpful Once working

By Michael T. from IN

This is my second temple module as I got the iec module first. I first installed it and received a ton of noise, as it created a grounding issue. Sweetwater is great and sent a replacement right away, but was still having the same problem.

Turns out it was because I installed the iec module beside it. I had to tear everything apart and move the iec to the other side, then it started working just fine and is super convenient.

Simple Effective Reliable Patch Bay

By Christian T. from Berkeley CA
Music Background: Professional Guitarist for 38+ years, '92 graduate of Berklee College of Music

I have now used 2 of these. On my large and small pedal boards and they're great! So simple, small, and effective. I'm not using a temple pedal board, although I may in the future. This is initially designed to integrate with Temple Pedal Boards. But since I often build my own boards from scratch, I'm building a custom install using these. I build a custom wood block to attach them, tucked under the board. It's easy to use labels or colors to designate my 4cm layout. I can show up to a gig and be plugged up ready to go in about 3 minutes, soup to nuts. That's placing the amp, cab, board and running my cable loom to the board. And that includes a talkbox configuration. So If you have a temple board, or your own custom board consider using one of these. The only draw-back would be if you need your patch bay to have a built-in buffer and then your should get the higher end version of this or maybe a Friedman patch bay.

Temple Audio Jack Patch Module ("Works for Me")

By Hey J.
Music Background: Beginner/intermediate

I was going to make my own module (lots of YouTube videos) but after pricing out the components to make one the Temple Audio module wasn't that much more, and it is custom made for the TempleBoard so I didn't have to worry about where to put it. I also considered making buffered module but I use all Boss pedals which are buffered. Apparently one of the sources of noise for some is the guitar input jack on modules. Some YouTubers recommend using metal guitar input jacks on modules (instead of plastic) for grounding reasons. I bought a metal jack to have on hand just in case but I'm getting just a very little "hiss" from my amp but I determined it wasn't from the module and not enough to redo the board. It's definitely cheaper to make your own if you have the skills and can find the components (eight jacks and a small metal box )at a reasonable price and have the skills. I did make my own patch cables. Very pleased with my purchase. As the saying goes, "works for me". I even have room for two more pedals. If you're not sure consult your Sweetwater rep for some advice and, like me, do your research!

This picks up noise, so it's worthless to me

By Sweetwater Customer

Before I bought this, I was plugging directly into the first pedal of my chain, and had no noise issues. Added this, and all-of-a-sudden, there is a grounding type of noise, similar to what you'd experience on a guitar bridge without a grounding wire. Did some a/b testing, and sure enough, bypassing the module makes the noise goes away. Plug back into the module, the grounding noise is comes back. Did some research, and I guess it's a known issue. Some folks talked about work-arounds and ways to ground it. But for the price this thing costs, that's ridiculous.

Really disappointed. This makes it unusable for me.

Functional and Convenient Accessory for Temple Audio Pedalboards

By Vince from Orlando, FL
Music Background: Degree in Music Production

The 4-Way Jack Patch has been an valuable addition to my Temple Audio pedalboard for the functionality, convenience, and organization it affords. I use this module to run a Boss NS-2 in 4 cable method and MIDI expression. To achieve 4 cable method, the module jacks used patched to the NS-2 as In, Send, and Return. This allows me to set up additional pedals off of my pedalboard like Wah and Whammy very easily while taking advantage of my NS-2. The final module jack is used to send a MIDI over TRS from Dunlop DVP4 to a MIDI controller underneath the board and I have found it to be hugely convenient. By having definite patch points, the cable runs underneath and to my board have been cleaned up greatly. I am very pleased with this module and would recommend it to others looking to get more out of their pedalboard.

Flawed product.

By Spencer S. from Spokane, Washington

Jacks are unshielded so they cause noise in the signal chain. Could be eliminated with trs cables but hardly any guitar pedal in the world uses balanced outs. Pretty useless product and too expensive for what it's made of.
