Action

By Thom K. from Fair Oaks,CA
Music Background: Worship Musician

Jordan was Fantastic and I really love this bass. I was disappointed at the action at the nut though. It was so high the first fret notes were all sharp. I've already installed the active EMG pickups.

Sweet bass!

By Ben W. from Western NY
Music Background: Over 20 years of playing in bands of many genres.

My first jazz style bass. I love everything about it. Great tone versatility. I use a compressor which can beef up the sound since it's passive which is kind of quiet with my amp. Great neck. Absolutely recommended.

Incredible!

By Kurt Z. from Franklin, North Carolina
Music Background: 40 years

I've been a guitar player for 40 years and have never played bass before. I was asked by my worship leader to start filling in and playing bass on a few Sundays. After a lot of YouTube reviews, I chose DeMarcus Miller. I loved its look with the roasted maple neck and the antique white and the jazz configuration. After getting the guitar, I spent an hour, warming up to it and in no time at all I sounded like I had been playing bass for 40 years and that's no exaggeration. The sound is really good. The finish and the field of the neck is fantastic. The guitars in my collection include very, very high-end handmade guitars and I'm very pleased with this. Don't hesitate to pull the trigger on this guitar. It's the best in class no doubt.

This was a nice surprise!

By Gary E. from Forest, VA
Music Background: Professional bass player

I've owned a number of basses in my career. This bass was recommended to me by a friend who tours extensively and has played for many years. I was skeptical at first until I tried it. Man was I greatly surprised! What a great sounding bass! The sound engineers that I work with like it as well as my $2,000 bass. My favorite thing about the bass is the roasted maple neck. It is butter smooth. The feel is so nice when you really lay it in the groove. I highly recommend this bass guitar.

Nice bass

By Bruce from Florida

I'm very pleased with this bass. It's like a Fender Jazz 5 string but less expensive and has a narrower neck ( lower nut width) so it is easier to play.

First 5 string, excellent choice!

By John B.
Music Background: Praise, worship, rock

I'm new to the 5 string world but not new to quality yet economical basses. This bass exceeds the hype that's been going around for Sire. I can't think of much I'd change on this bass. Maybe a pan pot instead of 2 volumes, but after all it's a passive jazz bass. The output that is achieved through this passive bass is surprising. I was worried about the balance of sound but even the B string. I play worship music and run into a fender downtown express to the board so I wasn't worried about the lack of onboard eq controls like on most 5 string jazz bass. Staying passive is just one less thing that can go wrong during a set so no worry about batteries dying or such. Tuners seem to be pretty solid, I haven't had to tune during a set so far. Eventually I'd like to get the lighter weight gotoh tuners but the stock tuners do their job better than other in-house hardware. The finish is flawless and the neck joint is as good as I've seen on Indonesian basses. The roasted maple neck is a joy in the hand. This is a solid choice for an entry to 5 and sweetwater definitely made this a great experience for me. Shipping was super fast!

Sire MMV5

By Martin M. from Queensbury, NY
Music Background: Old pro

I have gigged twice with this bass, it really lives up to it's reputation. Great tone, excellent feel to the neck and fingerboard, and as usual a great setup by Sweetwater. I will be playing this one in my regular rotation, it just does the job really well. And, you get a ton of bang for your $$.

Heckn Yea

By Paul C. from Evansville, IN
Music Background: weekend warrior forever

Love the Bass, Ive had Fender American, Music Mann... Epiphone and Ibanez. I like the Sire better than them all. Much more Economical also. I wasn't a fan of taking 2000.00 bass into a bar.
When I switched to 5 String, I went with a Sire back when you could only get from sire. Probably their 2nd year, I bought this one to replace My Ibanez as my backup. I ordered 5/7/23 and received 5/9/23 and played it all night 5/13/23. The tone is unreal. The neck Is a fantastic piece of roasted maple.
