Great Bass
I purchased this as a backup 5 string, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. However, this may join the regular rotation! The Sire preamp is so good and flexible and works well with these "lower tier" humbuckers compared to the revolution set. They sound great and you can get all the highs you want! The neck is fantastic, if you haven't played a Sire neck, you might just be missing out! I thought I might want to change out tuners or the bridge later, but so far, I don't see a reason to. The M5/M7 gives you a few more switches, but I don't think I would have ever used them. This bass is all I need. The only change I made was to change out the control knobs for better looking metal knobs, the old ones worked fine, but I didn't love the look.

Amazing instrument, period!
I bought this bass to complement a Modulus Quantum 5 fretless for the times I wanted a fretted sound. I didn't know what to expect given the price. I have to tell you, I have been very impressed. I'm into picking those nits and found only one almost undetectable cosmetic flaw. The sound is amazing and flexible. For the sound to be generally comparable to the Modulus pretty much says it all.
Lots of value for the money.....
This bass is awesome! Nice punchy sound. Sustain is fantastic. Lots of tonal control. You can get just about any sound you want. It also can be switched from active to passive modes. It does take two 9 volt batteries.
