A throwback guitar that rips
I had trouble deciding between this MJ and the American Virtuoso. I settled on eventually getting both. I love each in their own way and both designs merit a 5 star rating. If I had to keep one it would be the MJ. Don't get me wrong they are very close but I wish the American used the gotoh tremolo. I also like the clean fretboard with the only inlay being the 12th fret.
As far as the sound the MJ is a bit brighter when playing clean. Not much difference otherwise.
The king of the superstrat
Got this guitar used and I've had it for about 2 years and honestly have not found anything that can compare. the gotoh floating tremelo is amazing and smooth I've had it set up twice, once after I got it bc I thought I could set it up on my own ( was wrong) and a second time bc I wanted a different tuning and it needed new strings the point is the tuning stability is insane. The dimarzio pickups are really hot you turn you amp up to 3 and it's about ready to explode and I love that, you have better sustain on notes and it handles gain very well only thing I can maybe say is unless you have the gain on too much bass can really cloud the sound up but just keep the bass off 10 on clean tones it also a has five way switch adds so much versatility you can shred evh with the bridge pickup and change the channel flip a switch and you can play srv, the neck itself is so smooth and wide and the ebony fingerboard is a dream to play I cannot stress enough how good of a playing guitar this is, almost no pressure needed to note it's great if you are an intermediate player looking for your first guitar with a Floyd rose (like me)or wanting to make that step up to a real professional guitar that's versatile and hard to put down (trust me bro its hard to go back to anything else)or an advanced player wanting to add a really good guitar to you collection $ is worth every penny bite the bullet get it and thank me later

Guitar came out of the box in tune and ready to play. Wide range in tones between different pick up switch positions makes in extremely versatile. Plays very nice in the upper register but is balanced well at the first few frets. Photos don't do it justice. This is a great looking and well made guitar.
