Vienna Symphonic Library's MIR RoomPack 3 is an add-on expander for VSL's multi-impulse response convolution engine MIR. According to the ambience chasers at Vienna Symphonic Library, RoomPacks are "the crown jewels of Vienna MIR." Boasting thousands of individual impulse responses from a single venue, RoomPacks are the foundation upon which the MIR concept is built. Of course, MIR's Room Editor lets you dial in the decay length you need for the application at hand.
Teldex Studio BerlinVienna Symphonic Library's MIR RoomPack 2 gives you the famous recording hall of Teldex Studio in Berlin in all its sonic glory. Originally constructed as a ballroom in the 1890s, the hall has been used as a recording studio since the 1950s. The 4,900 square feet sound stage has a unique sonic signature with a notable absence of resonances. VSL has expertly captured this ambience with approximately 6,000 impulse responses. Vienna MIR Pro and MIR Pro 24 represent this lavish hall from two different angles, and give you three main mic positions.
ORF FunkhausVienna Symphonic Library's MIR RoomPack 2 also includes three studios located in ORF Funkhaus, the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation's public radio broadcasting building in Vienna. You get three of their recording studios with over 13,000 individual impulse responses captured using up to four dedicated Ambisonics multichannel mic arrays. Directed from up to 50 positions into the rooms in exacting steps of 60 degrees, impulses have also been fired at the floor and ceiling. This gives you you such a complete "picture" of ORF Funkhaus's rooms, you may even be tempted to believe you recorded there!
Recording Studio WeilerKnown as "Little America" and built by Los Angeles architects Bau:ton for producer Peter Wolf in western Austria, Recording Studio Weiler sports two great-sounding rooms that are particularly well-suited for jazz, pop, or rock music.
