Marshall MG10G 1x6.5" 10-watt Combo Amp Reviews
The MG10G is loaded with pure Marshall tone. You get your choice of Clean and Overdrive channels and a Gain channel Contour control for shaping your sound. The MG10G is great for bedroom practice — you can crank it without bothering the neighbors. There's nothing weak about its tone, however. Its revolutionary solid-state design convincingly emulates a tube amp's tone and response. Beyond that, the MG10G supplies you with a line input for music players and emulated headphone and line outputs. Part of Marshall's MG Gold series, the MG15G is a great-sounding practice amp for beginners.

Nice little practice amp.
Surprisingly good sound from this little amp.
Marshall MG10G
I really like this amp , it is small, easy to transport, sounds superb and looks awesome.
Nice little amp!
This amp is great for practicing and has a nice distortion. It is a great amp for the money.
Makes me smile every time...
I live in a downtown apartment and was looking for a small, very portable but great sounding amp. I have a Line 6 HD300 board that sounds incredible through it. PRS + Line 6 board + this Marshall amp = awesomeness. 10/10 would definitely recommend. I never thought this very small Marshall could produce those tones that the Marshall name is known for, but I was wrong! So glad I made this little purchase.
Great Practice Amp
I bought this amp because I needed something to use without disturbing the family while practicing and it did not let me down. Also having the ability to practice along with tracks (through the amp or through the headphones) that we use for our worship band is a big benefit. And yes, it's a Marshall, enough said.
It’s a Marshall. Enough said!
Bought this for my son who lives in a small on-campus
apartment. Paired with a Stratocaster it sounds great!
Practise amp
Small but sounds great
Best practice amp ever!
Marshall makes the best 10watt amp in the field, the tone is so warm and clear, moving and powerful at the same time. Definitely recommend! It worth every cent!
The best portable amp ever.
I have 5 large amplifiers by various different companies. I have purchased a Marshall amplifier recently and fell in love with the tone and proformance. I decided to buy a portable amp (all my amps are over 25 watts which are no easy task to transport) to take to places and play on-the-go. This amp is so enjoyable to play with i find myself often using it instead of my larger more expensive amps while I'm at home. I would 100% recommend this to a beginner or someone looking for portability.
Can't Beat it
I bought one of these for my son hoping that he would get into playing guitar. He didn't so I "liberated" it.
This could be the best value I ever got! I like the minimalism of 2 channels, one clean, one classic, dirty Marshall.
Mic this up and run it through a powered mixer and unless you're ready to go with a full band. Amazing. I may upgrade to the 15 watt. Can't beat the price and performance. I've had a lot of amps over the year, still have my Fender twin reverb, but this little bugger is my fave!
Great little amp
Does exactly what it should.
Completely Underated !
This amp is by a long shot better than any amps in that size & price point, I compared it with the Boss katana mini and the Vox pathfinder , and the Marshall blew both out of the water no questions. I don't particularly care for the gain channel, however the clean is just awesome and takes pedals no problems, stick an overdrive in front like a tube screamer and this thing really rocks, good for quieter settings or home practice.
Good practice amp!
I played this vintage looking, gold Marshall 10W amp for a couple of hours right out of the box. Everything works fine and my analog reverb pedal works great. It's a very simple amp and excellent for any anyone to practice all kinds of music.
Cant believe how i lucked into this gr8 amp
I bought a Lyons Guitar ( made by Washburn ) ,strap , 15' cable AND THIS LITTLE POWERHOUSE AMP ALL for only $ !
I dont have this kinda luck ever but man this Amp has such a sweet sound either crunchy or clean it sounds supberb ! The guitar needed some work on the electronics and the guy says take it home and try it , i couldnt get into my money pocket quick enough , i says no need ill just give you the cash now , cuz i knew the Amp would be worth at least $. TBH , id pay $ for this little Amp any day its worth it .
Almost perfect for the price.
Fantastic for the price. Perfect for in the home playing. Really good distortion without having to blast the volume. I would gladly pay an extra $ for reverb. That's really nitpicking at this price. Very happy with this purchase.
Hard to beat
IMO... Very few amps can compete with this for $. The only amp I would put in front of this is the "Blackstar ID Core:10"
My signal chain when using this practice amp is 2022 Gibson LP S 50s -> Boss GE-7/EQ Pedal -> Marshall MG10. Despite not having a traditional 3 band EQ, the Les Paul and amp sound pretty darn good. My only complaints would be 1- Has a slightly "boxy" sound... my pickups are covered, so uncovered pickups wouldn't have this issue... 2- Has a bottom end closer to a Plexi rather than a tight low end and punchy high mids like a JCM800 2203 (this is my personal preference, I play hard rock/80s metal... IE: GnR, Ozzy, Motley Crue... ect.). This brings me to my last tiny, tiny complaint... 3- The amp struggles to reach hi gain levels w/o a boost/OD or Distortion. If you do use a OD or Distortion, it would need to be a pretty transparent one. I tried to use my JHS Angry Charlie V3 (JCM800 amp in a box type pedal) on the clean channel, like I do with my Blackstar, but the Marshall MG10 isn't dynamic enough to hear any clarity with that pedal... it makes it sound like a bad fuzz pedal. My "complaints" of the amp are super small, I figured I would nit pick a bit, the reviews online seemed basic and lacked depth. All of my problems with this amp are solved by using a EQ pedal, so not having a 3 band EQ isn't a issue... I also use EQ pedal as a boost, solving my "hi gain level" problem. If you use a single coil guitar rather than one with PAF Humbuckers like mine then the amp being too warm/too much bottom end wont be a problem. All in all this is probably the 3rd best amp I own, the only better sounding and/or more versatile would be 1- Marshall Orgin 50 and 2- Blackstar ID:Core 20 V3. That's saying a lot... I have a Katana (overrated IMO) Orange Crush 10 or 12 (can't remember... sounds like a broke AC15 anyways lol) Marshall Code 50 (amp is decent if you use headphones or upgrade the speaker, stock speaker may be one of the worst things I've ever heard) and a bunch of other little practice style amps. All in all id say the price is a 7.5/10... Sound Quality (relative to price) is a 8/10... and versatility is a 6/10 ( Plus for 2 channels but minus a few for no emulation type channels like the Boss Katana and Blackstar). Can post sound demo if wanted.
