Just What I Needed!

By Bill W. from Fort Lauderdale

Yamaha mixers are a staple of my band mates and I needed a simple, affordable and reliable mixer for my desktop studio configuration. The MG06 is PERFECT...worked right out of the box and plugged into my interface and for a non-techie like me is easy to master. Thanks to Nick Dutiel my sales rep for his insights and advice.

easy to use

By Harry P. from PA
Music Background: self play keyboard and organ, just started performing a few years ago.

I didn't need much as a 'one-man' band and it's taken me a while to figure out the technicalities of things. But this was a piece of cake, the setup sheet was idiot proof. Now I can adjust everything from one box without reaching around all over the place.

Not Bad

By dj. C. from Marysville, WA
Music Background: SuperNew

If you need a small mixer to plug in a few gears so you can connect it to a PA which only has the 3 pin style adaptor a like the 308 alto's work super great. specially if you have the cables already in you inventory and home and don't feel like spending on new cables this is the one. my dp 03 plugged into it and my phone and my mic.

Best in its category

By Robert H. from Florida
Music Background: Professional musician.

I needed a basic, small form factor, reliable mixer for my two keyboard rig for use in a corporate band (weddings, events, nightclubs, etc). I was asked at the last minute to fill in with this band. Sweetwater assured me the mixer would arrive in time for my gig (it did). I chose this mixer based on its reasonable cost, and reported great quality and ease of use. Out of the box the activation and set up was a breeze. The unit is rugged and knobs and controls feel solid. A great mixer for the money.

Little monster!!!

By Kristopher A. from Miami, FL

This is mixer is a powerful little beast in such a small box. I've used it in a pinch for DJ sets at venues that don't have a dedicated mixer, and for live shows as well. Very happy with my purchase.

Perfect Addition to my small gig sound.

By Billy J.

Sometimes I don't feel like lugging around a 16 channel mixer. This one fits the bill for duos and solos. Plugs into my Bose S1 and greatly improves my control over the output. Thanks again, Benjamin Nielsen. You are always so very helpful.

Super quiet and doesn't color the sound.

By Kelly K. from WENTZVILLE, MO

The signal to noise ratio is unbelievable. I use this as an input aggregator. Helix, Zoom G3Xn and raw guitar into a Focusrite Solo and then into Reaper. No noticeable hiss even at max output. Worth every penny.

Nice Little Yamaha!

By GoodVibrations from NY

I enjoyed going down the mixer shopping research rabbit hole & ended up w/a Yamaha; again. My 10 channel is noisy with the effects on; not that surprising. I got this without effects & it is really, really quiet! Huge. I like the front mount switch except it's bright white and stands out from all the reds/greens of other kit. Easy fix with a marker or tape. Highly recommend. Solid build throughout. I'd pay a little more to get gain on the 3rd channel (it looks like there's a spot). Tx Yamaha / Sweetwater.

Great For Monitor Mix

By Tim

I needed a small mixer for my video editing setup, to combine the stereo output from two computers and route it to either powered studio monitors or headphones. I originally bought the Mackie Mix5, but the headphone volume on that mixer is a subset of the master, so I couldn't turn down the monitor volume and hear the headphones. It also lacked a power switch -- so I was doing a lot of plugging and unplugging, undermining the point of a mixer.

This Yamaha MG06 is just about the same footprint, but has separate control for main output and headphones. It also has two stereo line inputs, plus TWO line/mic inputs with EQ and pad buttons, so one more than the Mackie -- which can also be used as a third stereo input. The build quality is solid, the pots (knobs) are smooth and have nice resistance, AND it has a power switch in front! All in all, I'm really happy with this mixer.

Also, my monitors are Yamaha MSP5s, so I've got brand consistency...

Yamaha MG06 6 Channel Analog Mixer

By Mark B. from Tucson, AZ

The Yamaha MG06 mixer is ideal and easy to use for one band band. It has the typical high-quality Yamaha workmanship at a great price. I highly recommend this mixer.

Fantastic little mixer

By Paul P. from Gilbert, AZ

I gig with one other singer, so this is for a 2 vocal, one guitar set up , out to a Bose L1 for main sound and a small monitor. And it is perfect. Better quality than expected for this size and price point - very quiet, easy to use, and the XLR outputs are useful.

Recommend the mic stand mount, which makes it very easy to get to during a show. I use the "extra" mic stand for the monitor and I-pad holder as well, so it keeps the visual sight lines clean.

Great Live Keyboard Mixer with a "hidden" feature

By Martin J. from lake mary, FL
Music Background: Keyboard Player for Classic Rock/Blues Cover Band

I am using this as a keyboard mixer and need it to be close to my stage rig. I use the Onstage mic-stand shelves to hold gear but I have had to use cable ties to secure them to the shelf. Not a big deal, but less than elegant.

Imagine my surprise when I found two threaded holes on the back of this mixer. I measured and drilled two holes in the shelf and - voila - the mixer is securely mounted to the shelf. I love this kind of foresight during the design process.

As far as the functionality of the unit itself, it is very clean and quiet. What else do you need in a mixer? OK - it doesn't have effect sends, but I do that individually for my keyboards. Also, only EQ on channels 1 & 2. I would prefer EQ for all channels, but not a big deal as most modern keyboards have EQ built in.

Another big plus is the XLR outs. I don't see this often on small mixers and it is great for sending to the FOH while you can use the TS outputs to drive your amp. Saves on needing a DI box to feed the FOH.

For the price, I don't see anything else that comes close.

Superb little workhorse

By Brian from Westfield MA
Music Background: Part Time Worship Keyboards

I use this to mix 2 keyboards and then send the XLR stereo out to the FOH. There is absolutely zero noise generated by this unit. Loads of headroom. Works flawlessly with my setup. No negatives to write about. I got way more than I bargained for. If you are channel limited in your setup, and are looking for a small mixer solution to mix a couple of keyboards, this is perfect. I was going to get the key Largo, but honestly, so glad I didn't. Its a great piece of gear no doubt, but for my needs, I saved $ and got perfect results. Yamaha has a winner with this little beauty.

Excellent!!!

By Nate from New England
Music Background: Guitar Player

I was not expecting the level of sound quality this this has! Very clear and clean with a ton of headroom! The eq sounds very natural as well....especially for only being 2 band. I"m using this in an amp room as a sub mixer before going to front of house to combine 2 mics into one channel. This enables me to eq each mic and set the gain level of each mic before it goes to the main console on 1 channel. Can"t say enough good things about this mixer. Also a big thanks to Zach for the idea!

Yamaha MG06 does the trick

By Daniel from Folsom, CA
Music Background: Professional musician

I needed this for a complicated restaurant sound chain. After using a wireless transmitter and just dealing with batteries and pairing issues, I decided to run cable through the ceiling from the XLR for the wireless receiver and take XLR all the way to where I played. You need XLR for long cable runs without losing fidelity. The Yamaha MG06 has XLR outs and was the smallest and least expensive mixer for my needs. Both the harpist and I (classical guitar) can now plug our own gear into this and get a good, clean signal all the way to the other side of the building where the house amp is. Signal arrives to a small mixer in the back office before that amp, then routed to banquet, main room and patio channels.Solid build, small footprint. I also own the Yamaha MG06X in my rig - for another $ you get reverb or delay. Need the 'verb with the guitar's pickup, bone dry!

Solid Performance

By Chuck from FL
Music Background: Weekend Gigger

I've been using two of these for over a year now as live keyboard mixers. Does exactly what I want, and no more. Two sets of stereo outs makes it easy to offer a simple feed to FOH if needed. No effects needed or wanted. Completely clear and transparent, no sound coloration. Wish it didn't use a wall wart for power, but that's the deal at this price point.

Love the gear

By Jose F. from Houston, Texas
Music Background: 20+ yrs guitarist. My prefered music is Jazz, Fender amps, Fender guitars, and multi effects pedals.

The YAMAHA MG06 is just what I was looking for. All I wanted was a small enough mixer so that I could plug in my guitar+pedals and a pair of headphones. This way I can play my guitar at anytime without disturbing anybody. This also helps me because I recently purchased a TC Electronic G System and now I can tweak and create some sounds without even making a sound (get it) LOL.

Thank you Sweetwater and thank you Mr. Alan Carter for your continued support, help, and recommendations when it comes to music gear. So far I am VERY BERY pleased with my purchases.
