So far, with the addition of this 4-string, I am the proud of owner of three Sadowsky MetroExpress basses (two 5's and this 4). These basses are absolutely gorgeous, irresistible bass instruments, and quite possibly the best I've ever used and owned. I don't want to "shoot myself in the foot" here, but the out-of-box experience for each of my Sadowsky's has been perfect: I take them out of the box, inspect them, put on my favorite strings, set my action and intonation, and they're good to go. The fretwork was flawless, little to no fret buzz at all, the edges of the fret ends are smooth along the neck. The roasted maple necks are very sturdy and strong, doing great in the hot Louisiana weather. Also, this 4-string has zero deadspots (every note on every string has consistent volume and rings out long; the notes sustain out forever practically). If only every brand/instrument vendor would put in as much care and out-of-the-box setup as the Warwick Rockbass factory is doing for these MetroExpress's (according to Roger Sadowsky's standards, I'm sure) - I know it's sometimes necessary, but who wants to bring their instrument to a repair person straight away after just getting it into your hands?? The electronics are superb too and powerful (that preamp is just insane) and really cool to have a passive option (push/pull switch on the bass control). Like my PJ 5 string, I was worried about 60-cycle hum from the J-pickup, but because the control cavity is so sheilded well, the hum was very minimal and manageable.
