The Midas DN4816-I provides a dead-simple solution for piping 16 channels of analog audio over a StageConnect network. This bus-powered interface features 16 line-level analog inputs, plus two Ethernet ports: one to connect to Ultranet receivers, and a second to output the 16 onboard analog input channels. Configuring the DN4816-I for either Slave or Master mode is a piece of cake via a built-in Synchronization switch. You also get an LED that indicates a successful connection to a StageConnect network, plus a power LED and a USB port for firmware updates. Great interface to ultranet from non music group mixers
I have been a user of music group mixers for a number of years and have built up a collection of ultranet connected devices. I recently purchased a Yamaha DM3S mixer for really small shows but missed being able to use the ultranet gear. Using a DN4816I I was able to plug in the outputs from the DM3S into the input that corresponds to the appropriate ultranet channel and all worked seamlessly. I had previously achieved the same result using a Behringer S16, but that required configuration changes whenever I used it for this purpose. Using the DN4816I as it has no pre amps, no reconfigure is required, it's plug and play.
