Great product but...
I have two XT’s along with the MCUPro. They do everything I need them to, but both of the displays on the XT’s failed after 10 months. They were replaced under warranty after waiting 6 weeks for Mackie to replenish their supply. Now I notice that the display on the MCU is fading. This display issue will not prevent me from buying a third XT. I like them that much.
Why did I wait?
I had the MCU Pro for 2 years before I decided to add the Extender Pro. I never should have waited. It's great being able to see 16 tracks at once without having to 'layer" up or down. Makes mixing so much faster. As always great service with shipping from Sweetwater.
The only reason I give this 4 1/2 stars is that is does not come with the needed midi cables to hook it up to the MCU. Yes you must order those separately.
Loving it!
Got the Extender Pro so that i could have 16 channels. Worked great from day one. Using with Logic Studio.
Expect to replace displays
I have 3 XT's and an MCU Pro. 3 of the displays have failed within a year. One of which has just had a warrantee replacement fail after 8 months (this will be number 2). It gets expensive, and replacement parts are always out of stock. Had I known then what I know now...
I loved them until....
Replacing motorized faders is not uncommon. I have an MCU and 3 XTs and just found out they are basically trash since you can not long buy P&G faders. Mackie's suggestion? Buy them again. NO THANK YOU.
