Blue Cat Audio MB-7 Mixer Plug-in Reviews
Multiband and mid-side processing is easy with the Blue Cat Audio MB-7 Mixer plug-in, and it even lets you use VST plug-ins within your Pro Tools projects! Essentially, the MB-7 Mixer splits your audio track of choice into separate frequency bands, lets you adjust their stereo properties, insert other plug-ins, and then sum the bands back together. It's a powerful tool that Sweetwater can recommend for widening vocal tracks, bringing bass instruments to life, adding depth and impact to stereo recordings, and much more.

Pro Tools 11 Work-Around
This plugin is what us Pro Tools 11 users need - a way to use VST or AU plugins in an AAX world. Not only that, it allows you to effect only a portion of a signal's bandwidth - allowing you to add chorus to a bass guitar and still have a rock solid low end, for example. It can also let you load several plugins at once with a single instance (pre or post fader). As you know, there are a lot of good, free VST and AU plugins available and this plugin lets you access them. I also use it to gain level my inputs for mixing, without having to use and additional plugin (also, the PT Trim plugin doesn't have a stereo version). Very cool little toolbox.
Very Useful plugin-
I had read about and watched videos of the MB-7 in action and it looked very promising as a way to bring all my VST plugins back into Pro Tools 11. I am NOT disappointed! This plugin allows me to efficiently and simply process a track or buss with a wide array of options- the first time I used it, I split a bass guitar track in two, compressed the low end with one of my favorite VST compressors and mixed the two elements of the signal together to attain the nice, solid, crunchy bass line I was looking for. I also used it to divvy up and process a vocal's bands separately in order to treat a problem area in the midrange. Love the power this plugin gives me.
